I don't know what 512GB M.2 drives cost retail so I can't say whether that would be a cheaper option.

the HP support page now has backtracked to the F.11 BIOS, when it was already backtracked from F.13 down to F.12.[/QUOTE]
What does that mean? -
I'm not seeing that one either actually
-
Nevermind, the F.13 BIOS is on the website again.

It's back now...

F.13 BIOS is back now btw, im seeing this on my 4002dx support page. I'm not sure about other models, and by the way the spectre is an amazing device, I have no significant complains with it. If only they couldve fitted a larger 16:10 display and minimize those ungodly huge bezels, would have been superb.

hp.com returns? if i customize the spectre and then want to return it ... would that be possible? would i get the money back?

Αre there any settings for the area of the trackpad where I can click? I find myself tapping in the very right area (that is near the edge) since the trackpad is so large, but it seems to be only for navigation and not for clicking.
-
-
With clean install, how did you kept the Windows 8 key?
-
For not restricting the tapping area it is under the Advanced Filters in SmartSense. You can also increase the size of right button click at Clicking / Right Button Zone, the default is too limiting.

I purchased the i5/256gb/1080p model a month ago and I have to say that I absolutely love it. Best laptop I've ever had by far. Display is beautiful, keyboard is great, and this thing just flies through just about anything.
The only complaint I have is that the trackpad is a little loose when I tap on it. It's as if the pad is sitting a little above the actual button underneath and that causes it to feel loose and make noise when I tap it. If I hold the pad down with one finger and tap with the other it doesn't make noise. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding this? If I could figure out a way to fix this I would have zero complaints. -

Good luck, Jim -

Ι don't have such a problem with my trackpad.

I have been playing with my trackpad settings all afternoon. Lots of customization, that's for sure. My trackpad is a bit loose feeling I would say as well, but overall I have no complaints.

Anyone here bought the extended year warranty? I'm thinking about it...maybe the 2-year one.

First post here (Funny how my tabletpcreview account is not linked here...)
Anyways, I bought the Signature edition from MS store last week and performance and build quality wise, everything is great. The F5 button light can get annoying but I somehow just got used to it after a week of using the laptop. Trackpad to me is ok, no issues so far (and I mainly use a mouse if I'm doing real work anyways). The only thing that is bothering me with this laptop is the battery life. First battery cycle lasted me 6 - 7 hours, give and take. So I tried doing a lot of tweaks even undervolting with Intel's XTU and I'm at 7 - 8 hours now.. Still not that satisfied with it so I will return this in favor of the custom i5 that I just bought yesterday night (thanks for the person who posted the coupon! I just save $400!). Honestly though, the i5 256GB combo is the best combination so far. I don't think the extra 10% performance gain is worth it if I'm losing almost 4 hours of battery life.
Oh and another thing worth mentioning is the pen. As an industrial designer, I really need the pen for sketching. I got the Dell pen Lisa from MTR recommended and I have to say it's as good as the SBP3. The only downside with the pen is that there's no wintab drivers, and it's not as configurable compared to a Wacom pen.
Here's my laptop usage in the past 2 weeks:
- About 3 hours of InDesign and Photoshop, 4 times a week
- Mostly the brightness is at 0%; would crank it up to 100% during presentation
- browsing with Firefox, with little plugins installed
- occasional Youtube and Netflix

Yes I was going to say that it sounds like a scaling issue as far as blurry text. I went FHD avoiding scaling problems by running at 100% and since I still use a lot of desktop app's and mirror to my HDTV's it was the more practical screen size.
-
I was gonna build a core i5 QHD but decided I'd rather have the 256GB SSD. Plus the QHD drains battery.. Man, I can't wait for my 2nd x360 and return the i7 x360 that I currently have haha.
-
I haven't run into any scaling issues yet with the QHD, but then again, I don't do a ton on this machine. It's my play (ok, work) machine that I mostly use office on, and lots of multimedia.
On another note, anyone have any suggestions on how I should go about making a back up drive or disk? Purchasing this bad boy from the Microsoft store means it comes with nothing on it, including a recovery partition. Is there a simple way to make one via usb that I should be doing? -
is anybody feels that the lid hinges is little looseer than other notebooks?
-
When you start the process it tells you how big the USB drive has to be, if I remember right it is 16 GB. -

I bought the Spectre x360 with the QHD Display and i7 CPU today.
So far everything is fine except of 2 things.
Warranty is only til 04.2017. Is that normal? Because I bought it today, new.
The Fan is a bit loud I think.
Will install Windows 10 later -

concerning battery life: I think when listening to music the consumption is noticeably more. And I listen to music a lot when on my pc so maybe that' s the reason I don't get great battery life (7-7:30 hours on FHD with 50% brithness)

I just confirmed. They removed the Spectre x360 from that promotion. Wow...bummer.
