Are you talking bout the Waikiki soundcards now?

I just got a new dv9000 with Vista pre-installed. I cannot find the control panel for the quick launch buttons however, am I missing it or is it still an unresolved issue? Thanks for your help
-
hey Jade,
I just fixed all those unknown devices showing in my device manager. All I did was to search drivers through "C:/windows/system32" , it automatically install the drivers for me. I can now adjust the brightness w/ function button.
Regarding the touchpad issue, I uninstalled the software, that fixed it. It can now get locked after restart. -
-
-
Jcoeny -- As far as I know, no Vista systems have the control panel for the Quicklaunch buttons any more. One of the many annoyances with HP and Vista.
-
Lcoeny, install the old one. it works perfectly.
-
I installed all drivers from hp.com vista driver section for my nx9420 and also all offered updates from Microsoft update site, but still I have 2 unknown drivers- mass storage controller and unknown device... All other is OK... Off course, my card reader is not working... Any help???

Gentleman,
First i would like to thanks you for the loads of information that i've managed to gather from your forum. Now, i do have a problem that you might be able to help me with... I just purchased a dv9000t. In a (not so smart move) I wiped the HDD clean to start a fresh install of windows ultimate, BUT i didnt think of backup up the drivers folder.
Everything is installed and everything seems to work except the webcam and the microphone.
Note that none of these appear as errors on device manager. the webcam came up as a usb camera, but then i updated the webcam drivers using the ones found with this forums help. It yields no errors but when i try to use it (either with messenger, or skype) it says it is in use by another program and it does not initialize (the light does not even come on).
The microphone, i assume it is my fault since i have not dedicated much time to it. i did download the conexant HD audio drivers; but i have not tried to figure out why it is not working. maybe it is just a levels thing.
Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
Kind regards,

Toshiba has released Waikiki drivers for vista, they can be found Here.
This is what it says in the inf:
%HdAudioFunctionDriver.Waikiki5047.DeviceDesc% = HdAudModel,HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_1179FF31
I don't know if they are of any use to anyone, they seem to install fine on my HP laptop.
Hope this might be of some help...
If Toshiba can release drivers, I can't see why HP can't be bothered. -
Jade or whoever might know,
I have just bought a brand new Dv6000 (Dv6129tx) that came pre-loaded with XP. I've re-loaded with Vista 32 bit from Scratch but no joy getting webcam to work with it. Tried your drivers from first post but still black screen in any apps like skype or messenger (light next to webcam lights up when trying to use and device manager says it's a HP Webcam 1000 and that it's working).
I checked the Hardware ID and it's also USB\VID_05CA&PID_1870&REV_0100 same as someone else in this forum with a Dv9000 and Vista x64 (I think his name was Mosmax) which appears to be incompatible with the drivers you posted rather than the version of windows or the model of laptop.
You said that it's probably cause it's an old model of webcam and may be no drivers ever made for it. I just bought this laptop today so I don't think it's too old??? who knows maybe it is.
So if so see any other drivers floating around, please post them as I'm sure there are others out there with this problem.
Other than that, this laptop runs really well with all the drivers from HP site and Vista ultimate. Even Nvidia Drivers for my laptop on the HP site are up to date and work well with all my games.
On a side note, I owned an Asus until today and had the same problem with the webcam not working (black screen but was trying to work). I found a registry hack that fixed it but was specifically for the Bisoncam that comes with most Asus laptops. It worked a treat and the quality of the picture compared to original XP drivers was much better once everything was fixed. I hope something like this can be found for the HP. -
Good find, and thanks. Unfortunately, Toshiba is going the same route as HP, and their drivers are even older (March, 2006). These are XP drivers also, unfortunately, just relabeled for Vista-32. It's my understanding that Conexant isn't creating TRUE Vista drivers for the device, so I imagine that all notebook and PC makers who have used the codec in the past will just put out their XP drivers and label them Vista.
Anyone with a new machine (that was preloaded with Vista) please take a moment to lookup the device ID for your webcam, by following these steps:
1) Go to control panel, then device manager.
2) Select Imaging device, then the HP Pavilion webcam.
3) Go to the details page, and select Hardware Ids from the property dropdown.
Please compare the value shown to these:
1) USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&REV_0100&MI_00 --> We have this driver.
or
2) USB\VID_05CA&PID_1870&REV_0100 --> We NEED this driver.
Please take a moment to post which model system you have, and which Hardware ID your system shows. Our members would be VERY grateful. If your Hardware ID matches #2 above, it would be awesome if you could rar the entire directory C:\SwSetup\MISC5 and then post it online at one of the many free file hosting sites. If you need help, please PM me. I'd also be more than happy to post the file for you, if you want to send it to me via Windows Messenger or something. Any help we can get on this issue from new system owners would be greatly appreciated. -
DV2000T CTO.. and the hardware ID for my web cam is
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&REV_0100&MI_00
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&MI_00
I don't even bother installing the driver from HP. The default one from Vista works just fine. -
Just a little more information:
dv9000t here; hardware id :
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&REV_0100&MI_00
i did some extra messing around with the drivers, and i managed to get an icon on my systray that allows me to turn on the camera, but it does nothing. when i click on ON, it just stays off, and doesnt change.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

This photo is what happens when I try to play a game on Vista; I have tried installing every driver under the sun... Is anyone else having this problem?
Has anyone got Dolby or DTS working on Vista yet?
How hard is it to release a driver? It can't be that hard can it?

i have a slight weirder issue. turns out I bought a Pavillion dv9235nr. I previously had a HP 8000 series with a resolution of 1680 x 1050. it even included as high as 1600x1024. I'm a graphic designer so this was cool.
old nvidia geforce fx go5700 on board.
Now it turns out this new pavillio only supports 1400x900! What gives! Why the drop in resolution.. any help with making the resolution higher?
If i plug an external monitor to this new laptop it does give me the higher resolution....
any ideas??? -
propagandapromotions -- the dv9000 series has three monitor options.
1) Brightview 1440x900
2) Brightview 1680x1050
3) Ultrabrightview 1440x900
The machine you have has the first option, so all you'll ever get on the built-in screen is 1440x900. You can easily custom-order a machine from HP with the higher-res display. If you're buying in a store, you need to check the specs, and be aware that most of the retail models use the lower res screen.
If you need the higher res, I hope you're within the return window on that machine. Good luck. -
I have an answer for the webcam problem but unfortunately only half of one.
I am new to the forums so sorry if i am speaking out of turn. I have the webcam driver pulled directly off of a new machine with device id
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1870&REV_0100
however when i install it....it says that the device is installed and ready to go yet the device remains unknown in device manager.
The location listed for the device is
Port_#0004.Hub_#0002
If anyone would like a copy of the driver email me and i will be glad to give it to you however it seems like it is not the complete fix unless someone knows what step i might be missing.
I have the chipset drivers installed etc.
btw my machine is a dv9000z series. -
I have an hp dv200t and I installed vista on it myself. Everything works great but my audio, it is kinda glitchy with muting. But my main problem is when I try to use headphones. I plug in my headphones and sound comes out of the speakers still as well as the head phones.
Any Ideas? I have installed every audio driver on the main page that was compatible with my pc and I get an error that says Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver. -
You can find a description of the two available drivers, and the problems both have here (see post #8). It's a choice of the Microsoft driver or the HP XP driver right now, and neither give great results.
Also, you can find the complaint thread, and a petition asking HP to fulfill its obligation of providing proper drivers here. -
Update: I updated the first post with links to new Intel Wireless driver, dv2000t XP Audio driver (for those who want to try it), and a link to the webcam driver new member bigyoda1281 was good enough to provide.
Please note that the webcam driver seems to have some kind of an issue, but if you have a dv6000 or dv9000 series machine that didn't work with the previous driver, please give it a shot and post your results. Hopefully we can find a way to get those webcams working. -
AWESOME!!! Bigyoda1281 you did it!!!. it's working. It does not show up in control panel (under imaging devices), but it works under messenger, etc....
I have a dv9000t. webcam Hardware ID is running vista ultimate (32): USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&REV_0100&MI_00
**Note, i did not run the dpinst32 program; i went to the device manager, selected update driver, have disk, and pointed it to the driver path. It took some time to install, but it worked right after...

Regarding webcam drivers - I think someone was asking for hardware IDs so my system is a dv2100 CTO I got for xmas 2006 (12/28/2006 to be exact) and webcam ID is:
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&REV_0210&MI_00
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&MI_00
my webcame works fine with WU drivers
but my audio is the wikiki (#%$@#*$) one:
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_103C30B2&REV_1000
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5047&SUBSYS_103C30B2
I have a friend who got a dv6000 the same date as me (he got it for something like 600 bucks when i paid around $1.7k for mine) and he has the 5045 chipset with no problems
needless to say i'm very pissed off but I won't start barking at HP until I get my "Upgrade CD" for vista and can actually tell them I used that and it's not working
I'm hoping the reason they haven't shipped these CDs is because of this problem (and others?) and they're working on it - wishful thinking maybe but I mean they're nuts to think people who got these computer for 2006 xmas shopping are going to be ok with the headphone jacks on their laptop not working or using the XP driver which causes system crash (ie: i get blue screen when trying to live switch between users) - and even though i haven't hooked up kd to analyze the dump, i'm pretty sure it's the audio driver
I guess it's the waiting game for now -
I know why the driver i gave everyone does not work for me so now i am asking for your assistance in finding the right driver.
My hardware id is:
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1870&REV_0100
The reason the driver i had worked for ed is that it is designed for hardware id:
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&REV_0100&MI_00
so apparently there is at least one more driver out there somewhere so if anyone can locate it let me know.
I have a dv9000z series -
but not for
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1870&REV_0100 which is what I have too. I might have to visit the store I bought my notebook and see if any of their Vista machines have same ID. -
Hi, I`m a new here.
I need a HELP, with my sound card (driver).
I have a HP zv6000, and my sound card is conexant ac-link, and don`t work with vista x64.
What I do it? -
Official Webcam drivers posted in first post!
Grab 'em if you need 'em.
In fact, grab them if you don't, as they seem to be an updated version, even for users whose systems shipped with Vista.
joaomelchiors -- I uploaded the driver I think you need at http://www.mediafire.com/?03tyzo3zzty . It should be the right driver, but it was written for Win XP x64, and isn't properly signed for Vista-64. If you go to www.planetamd64.com you should be able to find some people who have used that driver or tried to use that driver. I'm honestly not sure if it works in the final version of Vista. There was a hack that got it to work in the betas, but I believe the -nointegritycheck hack it used is no longer in the final version of Vista. Unfortunately, from what I understand about that audio codec, there isn't going to be a real Vista driver, so trying to get that one working is about the only shot there is. Good luck with it. -
Can someone please assist in the locating of the Vista x64 driver for the DV8210us CXT Digital Audio Driver?
My device Hardware ID's are:
PCI\VEN_1002#DEV_4370#SUBSYS_309B103C#REV_02
PCI\VEN_1002#DEV 4307#SUSYS_309B103C
PCI\VEN_1002#DEV_4370#CC_040100
PCI\VEN_1002#DEV_4370#CC_0401 -
Anyway, hope that works for you.
Edit: Also, if there isn't a way to get that driver working I'm afraid both of you will need to install Vista-32 and use your existing XP driver. Sucks, I know. -
3 cheers for Jade (and HP I suppose). These new drivers actually re-flashed my webcam to bring the hardware id to one that works with Vista (USB\VID05CA&PID_1810&REV_0100&MI_00) then it installs the driver and shows up as a Pavillion webcam in device manager instead of HP Webcam 1000. Awesome!!!!
-
It's error while driver are be updating and it call Rstone
Run-time error '-2147217379 (8004101d)':
Automation error
My hardware ids are
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&REV_0210&MI_00
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&MI_00
any idea ? -
ok so i downloaded the drivers.. and it ran i got a run time error after the cmd window.. but i went in the the wcamr dir and ran the sw64.exe to update the firmware and smooth sailing from there.. thank you for the driver and the help

Many thanks for this thread

Hi
I have got a dv9088ea. Since loading Vista I just cannot get the DVB-T tv tuner to work properly in Media Center. It scans and finds all the channels but then when I try and display them, I just get the "No Signal" message.
I have got the latest drivers from HP and everything apparently is installed and working.
The TV Card is an HP branded Yuan EC300, that came with the laptop. (And it works fine with XP MCE)
I have unloaded and reloaded several different drivers, but they either don't install or I get the same problem.
I would be really grateful if anyone can offer any help, or even if anyone has got the same hardware and is working with no problems. At least then I will know it is something I am doing wrong.
And thanks for this thread, it has helped me loads. -
I'm was install with SW32.exe (i'm use vista x86)
and it's say "It failed in installing upload driver"
I'm think it about this driver can't use with dv2000 model because the real manufacturer in dv2000 webcam is sonix ,but this inf driver it's from Ricoh
It's can use for some model not all........
sorry for my english -
It worked! The newest webcam drivers work for me, im running x64 windows untimate on a dv6045nr, hardware id's
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&REV_0100&MI_00
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&MI_00
Just like to thank every1 on the forum especialy jadedraverla , been a great help to me since upgrading to vista. Thanks! -
Am I to understand this webcam driver flashes the webcam BIOS and changes the hardware ID? I'm dual booting XP and Vista - does this cause problems on the XP side of things? Will the XP driver continue to work with the new hardware ID? If not, can this new driver be reloaded on XP?

Well yes and no....the program supposedly flashes the camera to hardwareid:
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&REV_0100&MI_00
So your current driver will probably not work if that is not your current hardwareid. However there were xp drivers for that hardware id so you should be able to download them from the hp site and install them in xp. -
OK, thx
-
Hardware id's:
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&REV_0100&MI_00
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&MI_00
But it still doesn't work in messenger I get the message that the cam is in use or not installed ??

Oh if the new driver was for all versions it would be wonderful. Sadly that driver is listed as only being for the 32bit version of Vista.
-
byrds 6 -- I believe the new driver's main .exe is for Vista-32 only, but the extracted files include Vista-64 drivers as well. It's just a more complicated installation process, as you need to run the firmware update (if applicable) manually, and install the driver yourself.
Also, it seems that it is really designed for dv6000 and dv9000 owners, so those with other machines that already have a working driver may not want to bother. It DID update something (or said it did) on my dv2000t, but it looks to still be using the same driver I was using before. -
I am running vista ultimate 64 and the update worked great for me no unknown device
. I just let the thing extract and run right off the hp site nothing special. Thanks for everyones help with this.
-
fbmg have you tried the driver since the webcam was flashed that Yoda uploaded? Worth a shot. Should work a treat.
-
hey guys, im new to the forum, but i have the dv6000t and i have the preinstalled vista, and also have the driver in swsetup for the webcam...my problem is that it's shown in device mangr and has no problems, but in quickplay i can only get the camera to show a picture immediately after the driver's installation. the camera will fail as soon as a program like trillian tries to establish a connection with it, and then im not able to view video from the camera even in quickplay...so i must again uninstall it and reinstall it to use it for 2min...it's very unstable this driver that came wtih teh preinstalled vista. im in the process of downloading the torrent with the new driver in it, but am i understanding correctly that if i have the device id as being: USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&REV_0210&MI_00
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&MI_00
i am using the wrong driver?? is the driver in jadedraverla's torrent newer than what i have and will it have a diff. device ID?
thanx for the help. -
Topron, keep me posted, I'm in the same situation as you. It seems the driver is still unstable.
-
Well, I downloaded the DV9000 XP webcam drivers on the HP site and searched all the inf files for the 1810 product ID and it's not there - only the 1870 device. This would seem to indicate the XP drivers don't support the new device ID that the cam will use after installing the new drivers. So unless these new drives support XP as well, the webcam may no longer work in XP after the VID/PID has been changed by the flash. Something to be aware of...
-
Topron,
Instead of uninstalling and reinstalling you might want to try disabling it in the device manager then re-enable it. I am having a similar problem with the brand new driver and that seems to correct it when it quits working.
