cnjvh,
I know this is less than helpful for you but maybe it will give you some hope. When i was out looking for drivers in best buy the other day i ran into a dv6000 series machine with xp still on it and it had the 1810 hardware id. I do not know where you would get this driver but i know that it exists somewhere out there.... I will keep my eyes open for you.

dv2000 i'm still use old driver from xp,but can i get a webcam menu from my computer like xp,i'm wanna get this feature for capture the picture with my webcam
-
. In all likelyhood the new driver would work for XP as it appears to be a largely unified driver. I'm afraid to try it though since if it doesn't work for XP, well, there's no going back

The cam is working
After installed the new driver and flashed the cam It was not working after installing the old driver from the first post the cam is working

Glad to hear many people now have working webcams. To those that still don't and are looking for advice, I'll try to give a little direction based on the drivers I've posted. Unless someone else can think of a better way to test each driver that is available, I would recommend following these directions, in order.
1) Install the latest driver I posted off of the HP ftp server. This driver includes a firmware update utility that will update your system (if necessary) to fully support the webcam under Vista. After installing this driver, restart and run either Quickplay 3 (linked to in the first post) or Windows Mesenger to see if you can use the webcam. If so, congratulations, you're good to go.
2) If that driver tells you that it is not compatible with your device, or the device isn't able to be started, then download the two other drivers posted in the first thread and hosted at mediafire. Run the installer for one, and see if it recognizes your device. If so, let it install the driver, then again, restart the machine. Like before try to test the device with Quickplay or Windows Messenger and see if it works. If the installer doesn't recognize your device, try the other driver and follow the same steps. Hopefully, you now have a working webcam.
3) If you are still having problems, go into Device Manager (available from with the control panel), and select your webcam device from within Imaging Devices. Right click on the device, and select uninstall. Say yes or ok to all prompts, and then reboot when done. As soon as you reboot, repeat steps 1 and 2 above and hopefully one of the drivers will now work on your webcam.
4) If you still cannot use your webcam (in either Quickplay 3 or Windows Messenger), please post here with the following information:
a) Make and model number of notebook (be as exact as possible), along with the BIOS version -- Note: you should be running the latest BIOS on your system to use Windows Vista
b) Version of Windows Vista you are using (exa. Vista Home Premium 32-bit or Vista Ultimate 64-bit)
c) The hardware id of your webcam (find this by going to device manager, double-clicking the webcam device, selecting the details tab, and then selecting hardware ids from the dropdown properties list. and posting the result. It should look something like this: USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&REV_0210&MI_00
d) The results of each driver installation (did any of them recognize the device; or did they all say they were incompatible)
e) What device manager shows as the status for the webcam device. Does it show it as working properly but it doesn't, or does it have an exclamation point next to it, with a message saying the device cannot be started?
f) Do you have major problems with other hardware in your notebook under Windows Vista? This could imply a bad or incomplete Vista installation that could be preventing devices from working correctly.
Following steps 1-3, and then answering those questions in your post will make it much easier to isolate the problem. Also, please use either Quickplay 3 or Windows Messenger to check to see if your webcam is working. Other programs that worked fine under XP have issues with Vista and the way Vista wants them to access the webcam. You can have a properly working webcam and still not be able to use it with many other programs until they are properly updated for Vista compatibility.
Hope this helps some people to get their systems working. Also, if some other driver isn't working properly for you, please post the information in step 4 above in your post asking for help. It will help greatly in identifying what the potential problem is. -
how do you see the webcam from inside of quickplay
-
NM, I had to further update my version of 3.0 before the webcam showed up. Too bad the camera itself really sucks and is very fuzzy.
-
Is there an editor for the hardware quick launch buttons yet?
-
but im a quarter way through the torrent dl, hopefully that'll solve my probs.
By the way, i checked hp's site, and they dont have the webcam driver up, so im wondering where the webcam driver in teh torrent dl came from. -
HP is so slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww with drivers. i need that audio now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey all, about the webcam issues, thanks for all the posts
I have a dv6018ea, running Vista Business 32-bit, and I've been installing all the latest available HP driver updates, but still can't get the integrated webcam to work well. I downloaded the latest drivers posted in the first thread, and when the program is downloaded and runs, it brings up a cmd window with the text
c: <...> Local\temp > WoInst /r "driver\st50220.inf" "USB\VID_0c45&PID_62c0&MI_00" "USB\VID_0c45&PID_62c0" "USB\ROOT_HUB20"
and then a strange window comes up with the header "Sonix ST50220 11251.0" (guess that's the webcam model), with 6 buttons that say only "Go!", "Erase", "Check", "Prog", "Verify" and "Result". None of them seem to do anything, except pressing "Go!", which, after a long pause, gives the notice "Initialize camera failed!" and the program usually hangs there. Task Manager calls this program the "USB BridgBurnerAp MFC".
Checking on Device Manager after rebooting gives "HP Pavilion Webcam" under Imaging Devices. Its Hardware ID is:
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&REV_0210&MI_00
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&MI_00
I have to say that at one point it did work very briefly with MSN, but no usual icon in My Computer or any link to it in the start menu, only Uninstall.
I have tried the earlier drivers too, to no avail. BIOS is the latest version as far as I can tell. Checking under c:\swsetup\SP34746\WCAMR I can see some files, including one called "PID1810_001_UVC.SRM" (isn't that the right driver that has been mentioned on this thread?), and a few apps such as "DPInst, SROMwriter" and "SW32". These seem to be firmware uploaders that fail when run. I think a lot of these files are Ricoh, which is altogether the wrong webcam model?
Thanks very much for all your help,

Hey Guyz.....
Thanks a lot for all the discussions....I also faced problem regarding the Conexant 'Waikiki' Audio driver for HP Compaq v3035tu laptop.
But found this driver working.....:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SO...ant-High-Definition-Audio-Driver-318051.shtml
So,..better check it out....... -
wtf. dose it still has the lagg @ startup?
-
dosnt work
-
I'm running Vista Premium 64 on a dv6045nr and installed the sp34746 Webcam drivers yesterday and spentd two hrs trying to get it to work to no avail. Today I turn on the PC and go to Windows Live Messenger and now for some strange reason the Webcam works fine even works in Quickplay !!
Just thought every would like to know that the Webcam will eventually work. -
unfortunately, the startup lag exists with these drivers also. SPDIF out stops functioning completely; there's not even light coming out from the SPDIF jack. also, plugging in headphones doesn't disable the speakers either. there also isn't any sound enhancement options in sound properties.
i would say the XP drivers are still probably the best bet for now, although unfortunately only for those running Vista 32-bit. -
ok everyone, i finished downloading the torrent of hp drivers...my question is, am i supposed to install the driver found in the dv2000z folder for the webcam? that's the only webcam file in the whole folder, but i have the dv6000t.
and can someone please tell me where these drivers were taken from? from hp? because hp doesn't have any drivers posted for vista for the dv6000t webcam.
thanx -
ok, here's my update...
seems like kronium and i are having a different problem from everyone else regarding the dv6000t webcam.
these are my device ID's:
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&REV_0210&MI_00
USB\VID_0C45&PID_62C0&MI_00
the exact problem i'm having is that 3rd party software like TRILLIAN and SKYPE cannot establish proper connection with my webcam...once they try to and fail, then the webcam won't even start up with quickplay any longer.
the only solution is uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it. once it's reinstalled i better not dare try it again with trillian or skype otherwise it will fail once again, and if i want it to work again with quickplay i must uninstall and reinstall the driver once again.
fyi, the torrent download of all the vista drivers did not help my problem. so am i right that im having a problem that's different from everyone else's...except maybe kronium?
kronium, tell me exactly what your problem is, what model laptop you have, and what your device ID's for your webcam are and whether vista was preinstalled or not.
thanx to everyone for any help you can shed on the subject. my problem is obviously one that has to do with old versions of 3rd party software. an update to skype of trillian may in fact solve my issues...if i don't touch trillian or skype and have them try to establish video connection with the webcam, than i will never have a problem and webcam will always work through quickplya...the problem is im not satisfied with that and would like to establish video connection with those programs.
kronium...enlighten me as to your exact problem and your exact laptop model...let's get to the bottom of this **** problem.
my laptop is the dv6000t, with vista preinstalled -
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&REV_0100&MI_00
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&MI_00
The issue I'm having is with Quickplay playing my recorded videos back at 2x speed. Messenger works fine. I haven't tried your third party software. -
Hi everyone,
Found this forum through google while looking up my problem.
I have the HP Pavilion dv9205tx, with Windows Vista Ultimate preinstalled, and I am not sure if I am missing some software or not. I think I may be missing software for the integrated webcam. I can get it working on MSN and Quickplay, however i cannot take and save still shots with it. I tried to use the webcam drivers from page one. But all it does is open up cmd and then closes after a few seconds.
Previously with my old laptop i had an external USB webcam, which allowed me to take still photos, much like a digital camera. Are the HP Pavilion dv9200 series or other series supposed to be able to do this?
Any advice on what I can do? Or if I am missing anything at all.
Thanks,
Justin -
ya when i click on the latest webcam drivers (the spxxxx.exe pack it does the same thing, it opens a cmd window and blinks then goes away.... doesnt look like it updated anything...
can anyone explain?
if i did a clean install of windows, should i attempt it again and see if it does the same thing, or is there something that is better to use than the -official- pack that acts wierd? -
Hi to all.
I've recently bought a HP DV6276EA with Vista preinstalled, but i needed to remove it to install XP for work.
I've been able to find drivers for XP for every device, but the webcam is still not working. The device manager windows reports this info about the hardware:
USB\VID_05CA&PID_1810&MI_00\6&1F6A7C80&0&0000
I've tried to install several drivers found here and there, but without success...
Any chance to find a working driver for XP for this webcam?
Thanks in advance for your help. -
Yeah, I am not able to take still shots either, works in MSN fine though.

Hi,
i have a dv2173ea and windows vista 32bit and the quickbuttons doesn't work despite i've installed the file posted here... Any solution ?
tks,

Thank you, Jadedravela, for all the help, posts and links to softwares and drivers. I did a clean install of Vista 64-bit on my dv6058cl and couldn't get the webcam and quickplay to work until I stumbled into this forum. Now, if only HP would soon come out with Vista drivers for my HP printer...thanks again!
On a different subject, does anyone know, when you use the disc defragmenter, a way to see the actual progress of the program like you do with Windows XP. It seems like Vista only has one option - you click to start defragmentation and it does all hard disks in your system (USB drives included) and all you see is a blue "O" spinning. -
I have a dv6000z CTO and I can't get my bluetooth to work! I've tried downloading/installing the SoftPaq from HP, but it says "This installer be run on Windows Vista only." The thing is, I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Any ideas/help?

Howdy...
I have a dv2000t with Vista pre-installed, and I'm wondering if anyone has been able to get the OSD (on-screen display) working. On my old dv2000 (xp), there was an OSD when you changed volume or muted. This seems not to work on Vista...
Also, does anyone know how to change the quick-launch keys in Vista?
Thanks -
Awesome! I got the drivers installed.
But now... Bluetooth isn't working! Do I really have to install the HP Wireless manager? Can't Vista do this for me? -
I was, however, able to install the updates after a frustrating while getting that "Initialize camera failed!" error. In my case all I had to do was update the BIOS and then run the firmware/drivers update linked on the first page. Unfortunately, even after the update the webcam will not work with MSN, whenever I go to webcam settings MSN shuts down. -
Hey, this was addressed earlier in this thread, but it didn't solve my problem.
I'm working on a dv6226us laptop for a guy. It had preloaded Vista, and he wanted Vista wiped off for XP Home. So I have XP home loaded, and almost everything is fine. There are a couple drivers I cant find though.
"PCI Device" - probably the modem
"Unknown Device" - unsure
Also, I haven't installed audio drivers yet. The Conexant HD Audio drivers for XP found on the page for the dv6000z (as recommended earlier in this thread) do not work. It says it cannot find the device. The nVidia chipset found there is also incorrect. I found and downloaded the Intel 945GM Express chipset from intel, which is what I found through other searches as the correct chipset.
Help? -
tks,

Still nothing new on the Waikiki drivers, Jade?

"Unknown Device" - unsure"
THis is probably the Quick Launch Drivers... it was for me.... -
Help help help! (Jaded) So far most of the stuff I have read from you has solved my vista ultimate issues.... but i can NOT get my media card reader to work despite anything I try.... It shows up in my device manager as working... and identified.... But I when I put my card in (one that has ALWAYS worked) .... nothing happens... the processing light goes off like it recognizes SOMETHING is happening, but nothing.. no drive... no auto run... nothing.....
The hardware id is listed below... and as i said, it appears to be recognized just fine but.... nothingany help would be appreciated.

The system not activate automaticaly but i call MS suport here in Brazil and activated fine too. -
i didn't see yoda's patch anywhere, can u or someone else please send a link to it?
my update is i haven't made any progress yet...by the way, kronium, we have the same exact laptop; all hardware is identical -
One thing I can tell you is that you need to search HP for the dv6000t CTO drivers, not the 6000z drivers if it's an Intel chipset. All the drivers you need should be there. The one thing that might not be is the Microsoft UAA driver you'll need to install before you can install the audio and modem drivers. You can grab that from ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33566.exe . Let us know if that helps.
1. Make sure you've downloaded and installed the latest BIOS.
2. Make sure you've installed the Quickplay buttons driver 6.10B or 6.10C . If these drivers were already installed, you should reinstall after updating the BIOS.
3. Install Quickplay 3.0 from the link (if you want to use it).
4. The Quickplay buttons should function from within the Quickplay application, Windows Media Player, and Apple's iTunes. I'm not sure about other apps. Make sure the app you want to control is the active application (in the foreground), otherwise the buttons will do nothing.
Also, there is no longer a control panel applet to reassign the buttons like there was in XP, so you're left with the default configuration.
If you're still having problems, uninstall the drivers from within device manager. Reboot, and then reinstall. If still no go, post back with what driver version you are using (both for the Quickplay buttons and for your audio device since you're on a dv2000 series), and whether any of the buttons function (ie. sound controls work, but not player controls, or vise versa).

kronium...y don't u try installing skype and using the webcam with it? it's actually a great program, u can call people around the world and call locally and it's very cheap. it's a great video conferencing tool, as u can not only call others on skype using their cmoputers, but also call cell phones and land lines; it's great. if u decide to install it, let me know how it works (or doesn't work) with the webcam...
my webcam works fine with windows live messenger...but i don't really care about that, i want it to work with skype; let me know if u try it -
Skype seem to still have problems with vista compatibility and are yet to come out with a compatible version...
-
My skype runs very fine in my Vista Home Premium. -
Jadedraverla: Were you able to see the previous post I made for you on page 24 RE media card reader? I dont want to repost it for fear of getting yelled at... but I was wondering if you had any suggestions for me....
Thanks and sorry for being a nag

Post back and I think we can help. -
I have an HP dv8301nr. That is the ID of my card reader device (i am assuming. there is no card inserted at the moment, and when I insert the card, nothing else pops up on the device manager. it is a memory stick pro card, as i said it has worked on EVERY occasion before i installed ultimate.
Thank you again.

abrika -- some bad news. The dv8000 series uses a different card reader than most of the other consumer models. The Vista driver can be downloaded from here . However, that driver is ONLY for Vista-32 (it's actually the same as the WinXP/Win2k driver). I haven't seen ANY Vista-64 driver for that card reader. Hopefully, the generic Microsoft driver works for the SD card reader, but unless Texas Instruments has a 64-bit driver, there's not much chance of Vista-64 support for the other card readers.
Sorry, man. -
I've tried all your drivers for sound and none have worked. i'm running Vista ultimate (32-bit) on my HP Pavilion DV8320. the Audio card is a Conexant AC-Link Audio. none of the HP drivers seem to work, awhile back I found one (darn my memory) and had to re-install the OS again and of course lost it. Can anyone help me?
