I've had somewhat different results with Windows 8 on my dm3t-1100cto.
I did a upgrade install, keeping all my files, instead of a clean install (which is recommended but it would have been too much of a hassle for me to move all my data around back and forth).

Bluetooth can be turned on/off through HP Wireless Assistant.
Trackpad on/off button works fine. I didn't install a new driver after installing Windows 8 (so gestures don't work, but things like zoom, two-finger scrolling work).

Brightness control keys don't work; neither does the lock key.
The biggest issue is with the Nvidia G105M driver provided by HP. When navigating back to desktop from the "Metro" UI of Windows 8, I get graphical artifacts on the display. It's not a serious problem since you can clear it by maximizing a window, clicking show desktop, moving a window around, etc.

Overall, Windows 8 works fairly well on the dm3t-1100. It also feels a bit faster to me.

^Same experience here as well with close to identical hardware. Clean install for me though.
