everyone else that didn't get full $100 refund, at first it happened to me to but i didn't settle for that. than i tried this number 800-474-6836. they didn't question nothing and did their math and refunded the $100 with no problems

Yeah, I'm pretty sure our income tax makes up for it. I just find it more convenient that I don't have to deal with coins and change every time I buy something with cash.

 

Can anyone comment on how fast Fedex can transport an item from Anchorage to Upstate NY? I am not impatient. I am moving on the 18th to a different city andI cannot come back to local fedex office to pick up the dm4t. Estimated arrival date is 6/17 like other users but I do notsee how that is possible.

 

Well, I'm no expert, but if your estimated delivery date is this Thursday, then I would expect it then. If FedEx has a similar flight schedule every business day, then your package should fly from Anchorage to Memphis or Indianapolis in about 8 hours, and then to New York in another 2-4 hours. There shouldn't be a significant delay between the two flights, since the package has already passed international customs in Anchorage.

However, when our packages are going to leave Anchorage is another question entirely

 

I am more concerned about the ground transportation time. I live in the middle of nowhere - rural. Thus the move.

 

If the FedEx online status says "On Schedule", I would assume it will be delivered Thursday. FedEx seems to have a way of moving things around super quickly when needed!

If it ends up coming late, you could always try to get some free stuff out of them, I guess.

 

Can anyone go to device manager and tell me the name of the touchpad? I'm having trouble finding the drivers...

 

Does anyone know if receiving a credit due to the enhanced standard memory and/or hdd will violate the BCB award?

 

Although Fedex tracking didnt show any update, simpletracking.com updated showing scan in Anchorage this am; no change in est 6/17 delivery.

It shouldn't, it is not like you are using a coupon or anything. I don't even think receiving the credit would change the original transaction, just create a new one. I'd ask HP and/or Bing, though.

 

I'm on the phone with HP right now, they're not giving me any credit. Yeah... kinda pissed that everyone else got 50-100 and I'm getting a $30 coupon emailed to me.

 

I received a $50 credit around noon today. I would recommend trying to call back and talk to another agent about it and see what they can do...it seems that each one is different.

International shipment release just showed up on the FedEx tracking window. I would have thought that would have already been done as it's been sitting there long enough.

Well, hopefully they will be on their way very soon. I'm still worried by the fact that I can't find any FedEx flights from Anchorage to Memphis/Indianapolis/Oakland scheduled for today. Yesterday, I could see all the scheduled flights in the morning. Flight histories show that there are daily flights along these routes, but why isn't anything showing up today??

It's called jumpseat finder...it's for pilots who are hitching a ride to the start of their leg or home. As a pilot, you can jumpseat any open seat on any flight including cargo. It's hard to believe but all the airlines cooperate with each other on this - it's first come first serve. As the schedule is in zulu time, it's too late to schedule for today as it is 2053z and will soon be tomorrow. So, for the west coast, it's zulu time minus 7 hours.

 

Hmm, so the Oakland flight is scheduled to depart Anchorage at 5:30pm PDT today. The Indianapolis and Memphis flights both depart tomorrow at 2:50pm, which would be too late for delivery tomorrow. So, I'm hoping that our packages either catch a ride on the Oakland flight, or on a flight to Memphis or Indianapolis today that isn't listed on the Jumpseat Finder.

 

Well, I was able to find one additional flight - FDX72, which is scheduled to leave Anchorage for Memphis at 4:07pm PDT today. That's less than two hours away.

EDIT: There is now a second flight scheduled to fly from Anchorage to Memphis (FDX94) at 4:16pm PDT today.

No, I would still expect deliveries in all parts of the country tomorrow. All it takes is a flight from Anchorage to one of the major hubs (Memphis/Indianapolis/Oakland), and then a short hop to your local airport. That second flight should happen overnight. Then, it's just on to the delivery truck and to your door, hopefully

I've looked at lots of past examples, and this seems to be the pattern.

 

Wow, you folks are getting it down. All I did was wait patiently with impatience.
I would like to point out that many DM3 owners have plenty issues with that unit and the DV4 never even got started, it had 4 pages that simply stopped a couple of weeks ago and can't be found now. I had 1 of those and sent it back within a day. The TM2 tablet is being reorganized with new CPU and all. (Had one of those as well, nice idea, very poor implementation.) Lucky we have a great laptop; this one, the DM4T, seems to work well if you get a good build.

 

I hope there's still a flight from there to DC tonight so I can get this tomorrow.

 

Heads up -- one more flight scheduled from Anchorage to Indianapolis (FDX14)... should leave at 4:37pm PDT. I expect that a flight from Anchorage to Oakland will leave at about 6:00pm PDT (FDX86), but it hasn't been posted online yet.

 

This is so funny, after all this ocd-ness, our laptops are gonna arrive on schedule! I feel like a kid on Christmas eve!

Just got off the phone w/ HP & got some GOOD news & Bad news...

apparently my Laptop got stuck in the delayed shipping batch (along w/ some Dm3's) so now I know why my Delivery Date is next week....

The GOOD NEWS is I JUST SAVED A bunch of money while finding that out...$150 Credit to be exact.

I inquired about the 4gb DDR3 Memory upgrade I had & also the now standard 500gb HDD (I only got 320gb).

I was offered a $100 credit.
After inquiring a silly question (to increase my credit amnt) ( ), I was told that based on MY customization to prices now, I would receive a $150!!... and I said GREAT!

... likely the Best Deal ever.

Oh man, that's weird. My package was picked up a day before yours, but yours somehow got out of Anchorage one day sooner (assuming mine is leaving Anchorage today). Maybe customs just likes you better?

Well, I'm starting to become very annoyed by the slowness of this Intel Pentium M 1.73Ghz processor... I'm going to go do something else now. I can only hope that my (much) faster computer will arrive tomorrow on time!

I am very certain that our packages are both on the Oakland flight. It took off at 5:20pm, which is (not surprisingly) very close to the time stated in the tracking update.

 

Yay that coincides w my time of departure for Seattle.

 

Are you talking about the FDX85 flight that usually flies from Oakland to Seattle on Wednesday-Saturday early mornings?

I think that flight takes off very near to the departure of FDX1857 to Portland.

If our packages do indeed make the connecting flights tonight, I think we can expect deliveries tomorrow!
