Quick question, is the RAM and HDD user-replaceable?
Planning to upgrade the RAM to 8gb straight away and use my old SSD

can anyone help me a bit, i want to know if it's possible to use to use nvidia 3d for games because i just got a 3d passive tv and i want to play some games on it but can't get it to work, just games with their own stereoscopic 3d (crysis 3 and trine 2 to name some) work in 3d, i have a dv4 5162la

For those of you looking to upgrade your wireless card, I'd like to report that the intel dual band wireless AC 7260 card works perfectly. The new card has dual band AC plus bluetooth. It's running on my dv4t-5100, windows 7, F.34 bios.

@xinn3r - RAM is upgradable. Easily accessible under the laptop, and I think HP has some info on how to do this.

Another question - Has anyone attempted to reformat the hard drive or do a clean windows install? I was concerned about the 32GB mssd, but I recently found this thread that explains it very well: http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-pavilion-notebooks/676213-definitive-guide-clean-install-os-mssd-cache-equipped-laptop-dv6t-7000-dv7t-7000-envy17-3200-a.html

It sounds like using the intel rapid storage tech application, you can actually un-mount the mssd and theoretically use if for whatever (though it is small). The steps claim that you can simply unassociate the mssd with the hard drive cache, reboot, then do whatever reinstallation you wish. afterwards, you can re-associate the mssd with the hard drive and be "back to normal", in a manner of speaking.

Has anyone tried this or seen something different?
