Well its pretty good, I would even venture to say that it belongs with the first class graphic cards. It can def play demanding games from med to high.
-
This is TRUE and most likely the what they are doing. I am also reasonably sure Optical drives operate at far less than 3 Gb/s bandwidth ... at least I am not aware of any.
-
AHA! That explains it!!! -
Maybe. I see your point. Read here on the issue.

I see it as this. They are talking about a degradation over time. I rarely use my DVD player. I realize others might use it frequently. In any case, I am realistic in that I don't expect to keep a computer for more than about 3 years. -
Luckyguy, any pics?
-
Hey, Lucky. What Windows Experience Index scores do you show?
-
3DMark11 Score P1567
Clocks are 725/800 officially. Going to attempt a run at 800/900. -
Hey will this system with the 6770 video card play crisis 2?
-
I second the motion!
-
I third it
-
The 06 score is better than the average 555M or 4870M.
Mobile Graphics Cards - Benchmark List - Notebookcheck.net Tech -
I already have the same driver version as that so there was no need to install
-
What is your chipset named in Device Manager?
-
Crap. Well there goes that theory lol.
-
I'm betting Lucky's Windows Experience Index is about a 5.9, since it is determined by the lowest subscore. In general, a non SSD harddrive peaks at 5.9
-
Yes. I was asking for the scores in each category.
-
heres some pics guys after this I will be gone for a while, maybe some else can pic up from where I left off. Its been good serving you all. I only do this because I always want to express the goodness that my God has expressed to me. Christ Himself. Have a blessed day all and keep me updated too.
Here are the pics for windows score and laptopAttached Files:

Thanks for sharing with us, Lucky!
-
Thanks Lucky
-
So what do those scores mean? Can i play crisis 2 lol
-
At native res on the DV6? Definitely, and on med-higher details.
DV7 might struggle a bit more at 1600x900, but should run fine at medium'ish.

This sure makes me look forward to getting mine with the SSD pre-installed. If my biggest bottleneck is the graphics, I'll be in great shape!
-
Did you do a unboxing video for YouTube?
-
Mine is still in production.......OMG
How's the noise? is it loud when you play games, thanks -
3DMark Vantage DV6/6770M 725/800 (stock)
The noise while playing games? It is not quiet. The fan has a bit of whine. I am sure the laptop speakers could easily produce sound to blend it out, of you can of course use some headphones. -
My original dv6t-4000 had the fan set to always on in the BIOS. I had to change it so that it was dynamic and it was night and day difference. If the fan comes on and stays on when you turn the laptop on you should boot into the BIOS and change that.
-
Thanks Lucky! God bless!
-
This looks a LOT better then Engadget's pics. I love it, so getting it!
-
Sounds like a good machine. The 6770 seems to be a sleeper that everyone underestimated, it looks like we have a XPS killer on our hands.
-
Good to hear. I originally ordered the XPS17. Within 3 days, I checked back in, and the order was canceled. No notice. No phone call. No e-mail. No nothing. I had to find out on my own. Not happy about that, the HP coupon came along, and for $200 more, I am getting the SSD with it, as opposed to my opting not to get the SSD with Dell's because there, it would have cost me $600 more.
XPS 17, no SSD. $1,150 (for SSD, add $600 more)
HP w/SSD. $1,350. -
Well, this all begs the question (I think ArchAngel was trying...):
How well does the 6770 overclock? -
Thanks Lucky....
If I knew how to rep...I would do it..... -
This is a little off-track, but the HP warranty that comes with the laptop is a one year correct? Would anyone consider a 3-year from Squaretrade?
-
Isn't it 1 year on the 6, and two years on the 7?
-
I would say the real limiting factor would be the cooling system. If you really want to OC then you should probably be repasting the GPU and CPU. What we really need is to get somebody to tell us what temps they are getting under load with something like furmark.
-
Called to replace my 5th Gen. Told me I had to order online because I already had it replaced once. Ordered online. Submitted, confirmation comes back with the wrong hard drive configuration...great. HP tells me that I will have to wait until the laptop ships, then return...wth? Had to order AGAIN...hopefully they cancel the wrong order...seriously HP sucks.
Ordered dv7tqe: Build date April 17th -
Antonpug, you should've recorded the phone conversation where the HP sales rep tells you they have no idea which chipset is in the laptops. It would've been interesting to hear I guess.
-
Yeah...little did I think to do that :/
-
I went with a 3 year ADH warranty with SquareTrade. I'm starting dental school this fall so the dv6tqe will be getting plenty of use.
So my notebook arrived in AK yesterday and was placed on a clearance delay. No change today and HP sent me an e-mail earlier today regarding the situation - stating that they are aware and they're doing their best to get it cleared. -
At least yours shipped
-
Ah that stinks man.
If mine says:
Mar 30, 2011 2:50 PM
In transit
ANCHORAGE, AK
Package available for clearance
Does that mean it stuck in customs? Normal or what? -
There is no eSATA port on the new models.
-
It means YOU'RE NEVER GONNA GEDDIT
-
Thanks for the help...
Sorry I was just wondering if it was delayed at customs. -
Here's my recent history:
Mar 29, 2011 6:46 PM
Clearance delay
ANCHORAGE, AK
Mar 29, 2011 2:01 PM
In transit
ANCHORAGE, AK
Package available for clearance
Mar 29, 2011 8:41 AM
Arrived at FedEx location
ANCHORAGE, AK
From the research I gathered with previous cases, it seems like the clearance issue is per shipment so your shipment may go through without a hitch. Previous cases indicated it was HP not providing the proper paperwork for the units. The exact situation here is unknown. -
Ah, makes sense.
Thanks for the info and the quick response.

So uh, the DV6 has one HDD and one Optical Disk Drive. These two things aren't using the affected port right, assuming the ODD isn't blu ray. So Even if our DV6 comes with the B2, should we DV6 buyers worry?
-
Can someone tell me if I ordered a dv6 with a blu-ray player, and i happen to be lucky enough to get the b2 chipset, will I run into problems? i do not plan on ever adding another drive, the 750gb hdd is plenty for what I need it, but i do plan on using my blu-ray
