    I saw that a couple of you got this the dv6t with the 9650 and the 12 cell.

    What would be maximum battery life with the 12 cell, 4650, and a p series cpu?

    Weird problem with my dv6t. When I am surfing sometimes the screen 'disappears' for a split instant it happens so quickly its hard to tell if the screen is going black or just the browser is disappearing. It happens in both firefox and internet explorer. Its happened when the laptop is static on a flat table and I'm not even touching it. It usually happens about once every day or every other day. Its not power management or i'm not accidentally rolling over the 'show desktop' button. But it appears to be similar to both those things.
    Its never happened while I'm gaming. I dont know what it is but its annoying and is scaring me that its the start of something going seriously wrong with the laptop.
    Anyone else experienced this?

    I did a clean install and now I don't get the volume increasing/decreasing bar on the screen. Anyone know how I can get that back? Thanks.

    Are you using an external mouse? I think its something funky with the power management not recognizing my external mouse or something. I turned off power management and *knock on wood* it hasnt done this since. Also I turned off the option where if you roll over 'Show Desktop' just so I'm sure I'm not accidentally rolling over that.
    If it keeps doing it after turning all this stuff off I will have to consider sending the laptop in.

    I'd say you're worrying just a bit much--quite a bit of new hardware and software going into the DV6ts. If your graphics card was on the road to failure, blanking wouldn't be a symptom, especially in the least graphically intensive situations (browsing vs gaming). You'd be seeing artifacts under heavy GPU load, which isn't the case. This is obviously widespread, since someone else has your issue. It's probably a software bug which will eventually get ironed out.

    Has anybody got bluetooth A2DP to work? I've been trying to pair my headset and it's driving me freaking crazy. It finds the device but does not load the headset or stereo profiles for it. SUCKS! I've tried so many different bt stacks with no help.

    edit:: oops, i'm in the wrong thread, i have a quad edition

    Hello folks,

    Just checking in to say hello.

    Got mine during the cybermonday sale.

    Here are my specs minus the stuff everyone should have:

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P7450 (2.13GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
    FREE Upgrade to 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) from 2GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    320GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
    LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
    Networking Intel Wireless-N Mini-card

    I thought I could possibly take this around school with me, but it doesn't seem so. Though it fits my Jansport, I think my movements jar it too much. I had originally wanted a smaller netbook, but this one was too good to pass up. Now I will be looking into a smaller book, somethin along the lines of the DM3 or a 11" book from acer or gateway as can be found on tiger direct that is about 400 bucks (not the dm3) or so.

    I'm looking to buy an i5 dv6t. If I get the Wireless-N card, is it dual-band or only 2.4GHz? I just bought a Linksys WRT320N and I want to make full use of the 5GHz spectrum. There are a lot of G networks in my area, and we are still using 2.4GHz cordless phones in my house.

    If it does not say dual-band then it is probably not. I know that the Intel BGN card that I have is only 2.4GHz, because I have a WRT320N myself and it will not work on the 5GHz spectrum.

    Hey :)

    My friend has an FY848AV CTO that he purchased awhile back. We're trying to figure out what resolution the HDMI port will put out at? Easy way to find that info?

    Thanks!

    Don't hold me to this, but I am pretty sure that the HDMI will put out pretty much any resolution you want.(Like higher than 1080p)

    I'm doing more research and that seems to be what I'm finding.

    Although, this is the graphics chip he has

    Mobile Intel R, 4 Series Express Chipset family

    So, I'm still looking for output resolutions to be safe.

    I've had mine since end of December. Used a coupon, got the following specs for $1008. Have had no problems to date. Love it. Also got a dv7t Quad about 2 weeks later, wanted one notebook for home and one to carry back and forth to work. Like them both, 9 times out of 10 it's the dv6t that I pull out to use though. Love the size, and the angle that the 12 cell battery props the keyboard up, feels much more comfortable when typing. I don't use the dv6t for gaming, mostly surfing the web, doing web pages and photo editing.... it's plenty fast for what I'm doing (even with multiple applications open) and I don't see a noticeable difference going back and forth from the dv7t Quad to the dv6t.

    HP Pavilion dv6t customizable Notebook PC

    * • Moonlight White
    * • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    * • Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor P7550 (2.26GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
    * • FREE Upgrade to 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) from 2GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    * • 500GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    * • 1GB ATI Radeon(TM) HD 4650 Graphics
    * • 15.6" diagonal High Definition LED HP Brightview Widescreen Display (1366x768)
    * • Lightscribe Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer
    * • Webcam + Fingerprint Reader
    * • Intel Wireless-N Mini-card with Bluetooth
    * • HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner
    * • HP Color Matching Keyboard
    * • 12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    * • Integrated 56K Modem
    * • Microsoft(R) Works 9.0
    * • HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope

    I would recommend.

    I posted in the general Hp forum, but maybe someone will see this here and can help me.

    I just updated my dv6t to version F.41 yesterday. Almost immediately after the update, I started having a problem with my display screen intermittently flashing blank while I'm in the middle of doing something. Sometimes it comes back on it's own (no error messages are ever displayed), other times I have to move the mouse to wake it up and bring the display back. I have my laptop set to never hibernate, but as I mentioned this happens while I'm working on the laptop. It's probably done it 10 times already today.

    Is there anyway to roll back the driver to my previous version (F.36)?

    I just went to Hp site and downloaded the version F.36, ran the flash utility, all appeared to run fine. When my dv6t started back up, I looked at system information and it still shows my bios as version F.41.

    Can anyone help me figure out how to go back to version F.36? Is it possible?? Am I missing something? :confused:

    Update... while HP Help & Support still shows F.41 in my system information,
    when I reboot and hit Escape then F10 and look at Bios info, it shows F.36 now, so I think I got it!

    Hi, Im new to nbr and i need some advice. i just spent a whole half hour skimming this entire thread for info on the integrated tv tuner and how it works with window media center in windows 7. i heard it had some issues with windows vista but im hoping it wont have the same issue in win7 since microsoft did make a lot of improvements. not to mention hp may have changed the tuner chip. Im planning on buying a dv6t this saturday so promt help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

    Hi I'm new to this forum. I've got a DV6-1250ei and have scored 7311 as pic on 3d mark 05 using AMD GPU Clock Tool... Anyone overclocked their GPU? Would be interested in seeing what people are managing? It's Standard score is 6141 (here): Notebookcheck: AMD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530

    It is stable and I only overclock for gaming but do see big improvements. I use a notebook cooler to keep things in chech but gpu stays at 56degrees happy. The Centrino 2 setup seems pretty cool. Any one know the pll for the P7450 on the HP motherboard to over clock that as well?

    Overclocking DV6t (mine has a 501793-002 motherboard)

    I've opened her up and got the PLL.

    HPDV6t PLL = ICS9LPRS355BKL (see photo).

    SET FSB closest PLL is 9LPRS355BGLF but doesn't seem to work. Anyone got any ideas? Looking forward to sqeezing some more out of my P7450. This Laptop (Centrino 2) sits at 38degrees so am sure there is plenty of room for overclock (heat) combined with GPU overclock (I have a laptop cooler with 2* 120mm fans). Again I only use it for gaming and then use defaults. Nice combination of low temp long battery life when portable or high power when gaming. RSVP ASAP
