But for an idle speed of 789.3 why does the voltage still vary that much from cpu to cpu, if assuming similar temperatures?

    for example this one:

Not always possible to get consistent results but we can get pretty close.

    Hello everyone.
I just ran into a new problem with this laptop. After some gaming time, when the computer gets a litle hot, some wierd problem happens with the keyboard. When I press "/", I get "/." its like both "/" and "." keys are pressed at the same time. Once I let it cooldown for a few minutes, the problem is gone...
So, anyone knows what is going on? And any way I can solve this?

Luck of the draw, seriously. There are variances in CPU's and pretty much all things electronic and solid state. This is why some machines can overclock better than others.

    Help anyone.
    Have DV6-40008TX with 8Gb (2 x 4Gb SODIMMS)
    Has anybody tried (2 x 8Gb) SODIMMS
I know HP say 8GB max, but the chipset should support 16GB
unless they've crippled the BIOS ?? Running Windows7 64 bit with
VirtualBOX VMS and I need more memory to run a big VM

    thanks

You should be able to run 16 GB of RAM (2 x 8GB) on your notebook. I'm currently running on this configuration, and I have an older dv6! :)
