Thanks.
So if it ships tomorrow (today) it'll arrive by thursday morning at the earliest. Knowing fedex... it'll be here Monday instead.
-
Mine just shipped.
-
Edit: Damn and it's 7:21 over in China now. I hope they work late.. -
I think so what hour on june 29th did you order? I ordered around 6 or 7 pm.
-
Using the jumpseat finder, it looks like they fly it straight from china to memphis tn, I guess thats where the hp factory in the us is or something.
-
Shipped! How worried should I be about this heat coming from the left side (I didn't get the SSD). Do the usual ventilation techniques (elevation) help at all? I'd hate for my new killer machine to be undone by a case of the sweats!
-
Edit: 06/29/2010, 07:54:18 PDT
Edit #2: I swear I'm being punished for my frenziness and impatience by HP.
Edit #3: SHIPPED BABY! AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!! -
Hahah, congrats. It just says shipping info sent to fedex it isn't in transit or anything.
-
Yeah, I know. But after a hell week of refreshing that page only to see that it's still in production, any change is welcome.
-
Haha, I'm in the same boat as you guys. It's been especially bad since HP declined my original order and I had to reorder, so now my build date is the 13th. I did order speakers too so watching them ship keeps me sane
-
-
It's weird. Last night I played a few hours of WoW and it didn't get that hot. Was warm, but not hot.
There was another person on this thread that had the same temps as myself, but I forget the name. Would have to go back through the pages to find it.
It's not really a deal breaker, but is kind of annoying. Who knows if it's defective or not, but I have my new one coming soon so I'm not worried about it. -
Arggg, fedex got my package after cut off time.
-
Wohoo, at last mine is shipping.
-
What does your fedex transcript say?
-
Mine did to. HP missed the cut off time. I tried calling them to have them refund my money for 2 day shipping, because it obviously didn't take 2 days, but they wouldn't do it. They fell back on that I still received the laptop on, or before the original ship date.
-
Morx, when is your laptop coming? Like what day will it be at your house?
-
Sigh...I think my dv6 will show up around the 19th - 22nd. Makes me rage and sad so hard.
-
-
I'm quite pissed, to say the least. I purchased my order with the "ships in two business days" shipping arrangement. It now tells me my EDD is July 12. What the fudge???
Do they not work on Saturday? Regardless, there are enough "business days" to ship by Friday... this is getting on my nerves.
Edit: For those of you in the situation as I am, you should call their support and tell them the situation. With some luck, as I had, they will process a refund of 39.99 for you. -
Can you post your ship log from fedex's website? I have a feeling it's the same thing that happened to me, and want to try and get a refund. I tried once, and failed, but maybe I can try again.
Edit: This is what mine looked like, but because my "built by date" was June 9th, they wouldn't give me a refund because they still delivered by that date, regardless of shipping delays.

And yeah, I recommend you just keep trying, 39.99 is a lot. Especially so since you have the knowledge that a multi-billion dollar company is trying to rip that from you.
Be courteous to the technicians however. Not their fault, and the difference maker to them is how serene you are. On that matter, when talking to my assistant, I was a perfect little angel.
-
Ya, just meant the shipment travel history. Thanks. I think I'll give them another call.
-
Edit: And from the looks of it, you should have yours by the 10th. It only took 2 days from when Fedex actually picked it up, but the delay was getting it picked up.
-
-
Although due to the 10th being Saturday, it may be Monday the 12th, and ya.. from your copy paste above, it looks like they won't deliver it on Saturday, but rather the next business day Monday.
-
.
-
Mine just shipped this morning, although FedEx received it after cutoff time. Estimated delivery date is 13 July, a day after yours.
I used the free 5-7 business day shipping, so you might want to talk to an HP Customer Service Rep to get your refund. A difference of a day isn't worth the extra money.
Edit: I see you already called Customer Service. -
-
Sorry for the false hope. I failed to look at the calendar to see that the 10th is a Saturday.
-
Ah it's all good. I'll probably do a 20 page review on the laptop once I get it. Just came down with the fever
. 106 degrees if my thermo ain't broken.
-
Oh...wait.
All joking aside, get well soon. I'm intrigued at the lack of reviews for the dv6t se online. I've tried to look for reviews on Youtube and Google and found only one or two.
Then I find this thread where practically many of us decided to order in the same week. -
$300 coupon will attract many people.
-
-
NEW COUPON CODE: $400 off, but I just tried it and I think it voids the rebate, so really it's $250 off. Better than nothing though!
NBG351962 -
Need Sugar, you order something extra? My shipping weight is only 4.6kg/10.1lbs and I just got the laptop nothing extra per say.
-
I ordered an HDD too.
FedEx's problem? -

Might be the additional weight of the touchscreen.
And yeah, I went to the hospital, and they checked me for slightly above 106 degrees. Dv6t SE fever.
Edit: Someone mentioned a $400 coupon minus the rebate. That really sucks for the people who ordered right after the expiration of the $300 stackable coupon. They didn't get jack. -
I thought hp price matched if rebates came out after people ordered their stuff? Dunno, can't wait to get my dv6.
-
-
Need Sugar, I have the highest i7 and touchscreen why wouldn't it be higher than yours? Maybe a slight scale mistake.
Edit: Nevermind I got the ssd. Thats why. -
How unfortunate. It's cheaper to get a core i7-720 setup with a hdd than it is to get a core i5-450 with a ssd. I really didn't need the i7 and I don't really want to play gta 4 so...i think i should be set.
Now that I look at it though, it would have been cheaper to get the i7 setup by 80$ and I could probably add a ssd down the road. Should I send the i5 setup back to hp and order the i7 one? -
-
Going through the customized builds right now as well to see what kind of changes they have made. As stated they've made the i5-450m the base processor.
They've also added the ability to order recovery DVDs with different versions of windows on the DVD for $19. Pointless though because you can make recovery DVDs as soon as you get on your own. -
I think I read somewhere if you buy the ssd you automatically get restore disks because they don't create that dynamic partition for recovery on ssds.
-
-
How fun, an identical setup with i5 450 and ssd costs the same as the old deal post tax and all. I'm not even gonna bother sending this one back unless it melts lol.
If anyone could, would they get the i7 on the 2nd run? I mean, not a lot of games utilize the extra cores / threads, but is it possible that future games could? -
Thats why I got this build.

My exact build from before, with the $300 + $150 coupon is now the exact same price because the extra $50 we were getting before from the coupon is made up that we don't have to pay the extra $50 to get the i5-450.
But now I'm on the fence about the 520/540. Those things are sweet. -

$925, over $1000 with tax. I think this built should lasts two years. Can I even get two hours with quad core? Hmm... I'll probably buy Momentus XT for the HDD.
