    I'd be happy to :D

In the "color calibration" thing, I lowered the gamma by four "clicks", and the blue by two "clicks". By "clicks", I mean clicking below (or in the case of the blue color setting, to the left of) the arrow thing. In the gamma setting, there are 5 possible low "clicks", and 5 possible high ones. I'm not sure how many there are in the blue, but I'd guess that its 10. Let me know what you guys think of these changes! Also, if anyone else has calibrated it differently, feel free to post your settings :D

The blacks still aren't very deep, but thats because of the monitor itself, not the settings (I think).

P.S. - I apologize if the directions make absolutely no sense at all. Its kind of hard to describe.

EDIT: So I reread my post, and it makes zero sense. When you click below the arrow thing, it moves a certain amount to the negative side of the bar. I'm pretty sure the arrow moves a tenth of the bar in the direction you click.
If anyone has any questions about my (terrible) directions, feel free to ask :D

EDIT2: BTW I did this all on the highest brightness setting.

Can the monitor of the DV6TSE really be worse than this 15.4" WXGA 1280X800? That is the screen of my current laptop, and I am honestly fine with it.

@estepor Well the resolution is fine. Its the colors that could be a lot better.

You get a slightly shorter vertical view, but a longer horizontal view. A tiny bit worse for web pages, but better for gaming.

Speaking of which, playing TF2 on max settings and the native res for an hour causes max CPU temps of 84C and 77C respectively. I forgot to track the GPU temps, but it was at 60C seconds after closing the game. CPU and GPU cooled down in about 3-5 minutes. I just stopped playing about that long ago, and I have CPU temps of 42-45C and 34-38C, and GPU is at 49-50C. FPS varied from 68-100+. Also, Portal gets 95-130+ FPS on max settings and 4xAA, just in case anyone still plays that. xD

Cool, thanks, I'll try that out.

I just noticed that two-finger scrolling doesn't work after my computer reawakens from sleep. That happen to anyone else?

@eight35pm I just experienced that jumping cursor thing you described. I couldnt get mine to scroll down, and it just kept going left and right. But whats weird is that I put it to sleep for about 5 minutes and when I "woke it up" the cursor was fine.

Yeah, that was one of the thins it did. I have realized since then that my cursors jumps down like half the screen when I try to double tap. Not all the time when I double tap, just sometimes, but not when I single tap.

Mines been better lately too, other than the issue mentioned above, and the fact that sometimes it doesn't recognize when I try to scroll upwards using two fingers, but even those used to happen much more frequently.

Wait, what? All off a sudden its back to jumping some when I try to scroll. If I try to scroll down, it jumps up, and it jumps up more than I can scroll down so I can't scroll down. And vice-versa.

WOW! So I just played the Call of Duty 4 demo on max possible settings with the 5650, and the max core temps only got to 68 and 64 degrees celcius!! Of course I was playing with my laptop raised about 4 inches from my bed with a couple of books and a window fan on max about 5 feet from it, so I suppose thats to be expected.

This might be the stupidest question ever, but do AC adapters come standard with your shipped PC or do you have to order them?

Because when they ask, I just take it to mean that if you want to buy another one besides the one that comes with it. Or am I wrong and you have to pay for an adapter as well as the PC?

Yes you are correct, the adapter is included in the price of the Laptop, and the others are in case you need an extra adapter or perhaps a different type as well such as a slimmer adapter.

Of course! It's one of the main reasons I stretched my budget enough to get the 5650. :D

The 5650 is idling around 40C. That's pretty good, I'd say, but the palm rest still gets warm where it is...

Yes, but unless you have an adapter, one will have to be by HDMI and the other by VGA.

    I have a couple questions:
    - How can I get hwmonitor to display my gpu temps? I've downloaded the regular version and the pro version, and neither of them show my gpu temp
    - How can I get the AMD clock tool to start? It says I have to run it as an administrator, but it doesn't give me that option when I right click on it, and I am on the administrator file.

Hi dudes I'm italian and I just bought a new dv6-3013sl, it has 720qm-4gbddr3-5650 and I love it. It's blazing fast, but I have to say it runs pretty hot, but nothing that can't be fixed with a netbook cooler. The aluminum case is very nice and sturdy. The only regret I have is to live in a coutry where I can't configure my own pc. I miss the backlight keyboard so much...
Btw i paid it 1k euros.

Regarding the warm palm rests, it's kind of hit or miss on mine. Sometimes it'll warm up and sometimes...it stays really cool. I don't understand this laptop at all, but I enjoy owning it.

Type msconfig in your computer earch bar and run it. Go to system startup and remove any processes that you dont regularly use. Some processes you wont be able to recognize and you should copy and paste those into google for a description and if you need it or not.

The connector for the laptop is near the power button. Someone said an envy 15 screen or something like that works, but the brightness is still the same as our factory one.

@Nsxrrmaniac Awesome! I posted about it on the 2nd gen envy 15 and someone posted a link to a site that sells those screens. They have a couple 1366x768 screens and a couple 1920x1080 screens. They even have a 1600x900 screen, but it doesnt say which side the connector is on.

No, it's that in order to achieve three outputs, one of them has to be a DisplayPort out because of the timing issues with HDMI or something.

Yes, it did require a DP to get this to work and a 32bit os with an unsigned driver to work.
Plus I did get timing issue and crashes, my fault but its a don't care. Only used it once and for a short period to the reduce possibility of hardware damage.

By the way, the fan on this is pretty quiet. When it's down all the way, I can barely hear it. When it speeds up, it's not really disruptive. The volume of the computer can easily be heard over the fan when gaming or watching a movie. I don't really even notice the fan.

Anybody found a way to disable the trackpad while you type? I have accidentally hit the track pad while typing and that moves the cursor. I can't seem to find a disable option in the trackpad settings or advanced settings. I have seen that on other trackpads before.

    Thanks.

@Cazper37 ok thanks I'll give that a try

@everyone A couple more random things:
    - The two-finger scrolling is now being jumpy for me. I have to do it at a certain speed, otherwise it will jump to the end of the page in the direction I try to scroll in
    - The thermal pad/paste/whatever it is takes some breaking in. I've had my laptop for almost 5 days now, and I just got an all-time low cpu temp of 22 degrees celcius at idle. Now that was plugged in with the only open program being the cpu temp monitor, and I had a fan blowing directly on to the intake area for the laptop's fan, but still. 71.6 degrees fahrenheit is awesome.

EDIT: Oh and that was obviously on integrated graphics
