    Hey dfinctec!

    Well, resellers cant give the discount for the delay from the manufacturers, I guess.
    Anyways good luck with the home-brewed desktop.

    I hope I could build a desktop at home!! I am not so tech savvy.
    Can any one suggest a good website where I can watch and build my own desktop?

    Thanks

    Well mine was due to ship Thursday, but it didn't happen. I called them asking the status to see if there was any problems yesterday(March 2nd), the woman told me that there were no shortages or anything and to call back after 5-7 days cause thats how long it takes during shipping. Later last night I got an email stating that my estimated ship date was moved to March 5th, so like 2 business days. I received a 50 dollar coupon to HP. I guess I'll be shopping there for my carrying case. I'll keep you up to date if anything else changes. Oh and it still says March 1st on the order status page, does that change when they change the ship date?

    Hey!!

    No it doesn’t change. My ship date is delayed to March 16. But order status page on HP website still shows this:

    "Order in production (Estimated to ship on February 15, 2007)

    Tracking provided upon shipment"

    Even the phone customer service will have no idea unless they/you talk to their supervisor.

    Happy Holi to all !!!

    Hi.
    Mr starfleet captian.
    i have the dv9000z with 802.11a/b/g WLAN and Bluetooth
    i have notice u purchase the 802.11 pre-n WLAN and Bluetooth .
    can you tell me if you open up the case under neath and seen the chip.
    is it a broadcomm chip. i contacted the techs and they say you cant upgrade after you purchase because they say its built into the motherboard. i know for sure it can be upgrade because its a mini pci express card/module.
    thanks

    no mate. just checked..not shipped yet. I called HP they say now that parts have arrived, production is on its way and it may ship in next couple of days. But I have gone through HP's promises for a month now. So I am not getting my hopes up.

    Bummer. You did order a dv6000t right? I got my delay information on the first, and it shipped out today. I suspect yours will follow shortly thereafter, as it appears we have both been waiting for the same rig for the same reason. What was your origional ship date estimation?

    My dv6000t just shipped today. I was informed of it being delayed on the 2nd, it was supposed to go out the 1st originally. I guess they shipped a lot today. Hope it gets here this week, i hate waiting weekends knowing that stuff cant come.

    Same here, but mine departed Alaska at 2:23 PM. I am nearly pissing my pants with excitement. My Dell experiance has left me wishing I had never strayed from the path of righteousness... uhhh, I mean from HP :p . I just can't wait to get back on the right track again.

    divinefool

    Too bad man, that does look like a nice rig. I really wish I had gone the HP route again when I bought my Dell desktop. If I had it to do all over again, I would have bought the HP and been happy with the wait. I sold my newer HP when the Dell Arrived, and my wife still uses our 7 year old HP (never had a second's trouble, but I have added 2 GB of RAM and a second hard drive, oh yeah, I also lost ME and got XP Pro :rolleyes: ) and refuses to let me use it anymore :rolleyes: :p .

    Chin up bud, you are getting a great rig that will wash all your sorrows away when it arrives.

    Rig is good but the wait has bittered the enthusiasm. I hope it ships soon as now all the components have arrived (customer service told me).

    The status for the dv2000t I ordered from HP for my daughter in college just changed to shipped! I ordered it late on the night of March 1. The status indicated "order accepted", or something like that, until the morning of the 2nd when it changed to "order dropped to factory." It changed to "order in production" on the evening of the 2nd. I checked the status this morning before leaving for work, and it still was in production. When I checked FedEx tracking, the notebook was picked up at 4:03 pm in Kunshan, China, but was received after FedEx cutoff, so I guess it won't leave until tomorrow. Now we'll see how long it takes to get to Texas, and if it gets hung up in customs like some others. My daughter is coming home for spring break in the middle of next week, so it would be nice it arrives before she heads back to school.

    Not too shabby at all! That's basically overnight shipping from China. If the notebook made FedEx's cutoff Monday night, then it's 2nd day at worst. It must have passed right through customs, if it went through at all! Maybe HP expedited yours because of the delay in getting it built. Anyway, enjoy your new shiny notebook! :)

    Hey Divinefool...

    Just an FYI - if you ever give up and decide to cancel your order...be prepared to fight for that as well. It took me 'SEVEN DAYS' to cancel the fricken order! Apparently the only communication they have to the production facility is by e-mail. They even told me that they do not have a phone there??!?? But at lease I got the darn thing canceled. But now, since they decided to go ahead and charge my CC (on March 4th of all stupid days), I now have to wait 5-7 days for the charge to be removed from my CC.

    What a big pain this has been!

    I totally understand what you must have gone through as I am painfully dealing with HP personnels for 35+ days.
    Lame excuses, lack of coherent reply. They are at total loss of logic..such a big fr*** company and such chaos. Gosh!!!
    No one has any idea what "actually" is going on.
    Monday I was promised my rig will be shipped Today, that guy promised like 2-3 times. He told me that on Monday all delayed components have arrived and my rig will take 40 hrs to build and test and will be shipped on Thursday.

    Today I called and they said your rig will ship on march 16!!!!!! They can't ship this week......it is so mind numbing. What is going on.

    I am a peaceful guy.. but man.. I wana hit someone right now!!!!

    (Sorry Night...will tone it down.)

    Do these idiots have any amount of brains amongst all of them??!?

    You would NOT believe what just showed up at my office doorway....go ahead...take a wild guess.....

    My D4790y, which was ordered on 2/7, ETA of 2/21, then 2/28, then 3/13, requested to be canceled on 3/1, actually canceled on 3/7, mysteriously appears at my door on 3/8 at 1:45 in the afternoon.

    The packing slip is correct for what I ordered, but I fear opening the box for something that I'm not sure I really want now. Or whether or not is trully what I ordered.

    * Genuine Windows Vista(TM) Ultimate
    * Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor E6700 (2.66GHz)
    * 4GB DDR2-667MHz dual channel SDRAM (4x1024)
    * 500GB RAID0-PERF (2X250G SATA)
    * LightScribe 16X DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti drive
    * 802.11 b/g Wireless LAN and NO 56K data/fax modem
    * Single NTSC TV tuner with PVR, FM tuner, remote
    * 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT, HD , TV-out, 2 DVI
    * Integrated 7.1 channel sound w/front audio ports
    * 15-in-1 Memory Cardreader, 3USB, 1394, Video

    Shows it shipped 3/2 (guess thats why the charge to CC went through on 3/4)

    According to FedEx tracking it was sent from El Paso, TX. (I wonder if that is anywhere near the factory in China that has Internet access but no telephone)

    Well...I did have to take it out of the box since the shipping box it too big to safely fit in my car. I'm glad to see that it uses an ASUS mobo - my choice brand when building a homebrew box. It has a P5BW-LA with the add on board for two additional PCI slots. It would have been nice to have SLI capability though.

    Since I got it through CompUSA, I'm not even going to try to get any compensation for the delays.

    Hope you get yours soon divine....

    That is why I didn't canceled.
    And I guess BusinessBro is correct...they forgot my order or something..

    Tweety I ordered my dv9000t from costco as well on the 4th and it's been in process since then. My understanding from one post I read is that they sometimes don't even update it until it gets to your door (as someone was pleasantly surprised to get their package). Hopefully, they will update when it actually ships!

    They are making them to order. If they had them stacked in a wharehouse you could get one made last year and loose any cutting edge technology like program versions, hardware/software updates, firmware and so on. How would you like one made last year?

    If are waiting on one to so it will help you get a "stay of execution" I can see the rant but Geeesh! Chill guys.

    Congrats tweety. Now i'm jealous :) Did they send an email at all to let you know it shipped or did it just update on its own?

    Wonder how much longer the wait is on a dv9000 vs dv2000 . I'm assuming you ordered on the 3rd since you said it has been processing since then?

    Also, can you tell me when they told you it'd ship? I think when I originally ordered it said it'd ship on the 14th and my order was done a day after yours. Wondering if yours said the 13th. Thanks!

    HP is sending mine by standard overnight..so I guess it may reach on Monday.
    They upgraded shipping because of delay like for others.
    Also HP desktops are built in El Paso, Texas, will it require customs papers/clearance still?
    Isn't customs for goods from outside country?

    Customs is for goods outside the country, and if it was built in Texas it shouldn't suffer any customs inspection.

    Even still, mine flew through Indy customs in just a few hours (from Shanghai), so the customs delay thing likely isn't for every shipment.

    My notebook spent about four hours in Indiannapolis. Now it is in Newark NJ, about 45 minutes drive from my house. But its the weekends, and we took 5-7 day shipping so it should arrive tomorrow.

    Ordered my DV2000T 3/3 and Estimated Delivery date of 3/14 but from below looks like I'm getting it today. Too bad for me I can't go home today due to duty. At least my wife will be able to accept delivery so I can play it with when I get home tomorrow.

    No update for me yet on the costco.com website :( Still listed as 'In Process'. Was really hoping they would have started shipment of it over the weekend. Oh well.
