As the Santa Rosas come out, will it be more than the current C2Ds? Because you can't have all new products being steadily more expensive than the last can you? that'd just inflate the price. So are the Santa Rosas replacing the laptop line? And even if they don't sell for the same price, would this mean that the current C2D line will get cheaper?
Think they'll release a higher resolution? And they probably won't change the design would they?
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
I wish HP would announce an Intel TX1000.
-
the santa rosa is just a new platform but core 2 duo will be used
its put in place replacing the current 945 chipsets and so on
it has an increased FSB of 800mhz which will dramatically improve performance and will increase multi tasking capability
prices are expected to rise as initial stock isnt going to be enough for the huge demand for them as many scramble to get their hands on these updated systems along with the DX10 GPUs which is another good reason people fins to upgrade to a new system from their existing systems -
The current dv2XXX/6XXX/9XXX may disappear from the website, but I guess it depends on how many parts are left from the old platform.
If you have noticed, the C500T is still being offered on the Compaq side, which is nothing more than a watered down version of the previous generation V5000t. Apparently they still have some parts left after all of this time. -
thus the numerous sales at quite consumr pleasing prices of which the main aim is to finish the leftoverstock before th arrival of the new ones
-
-
in that case either they have done away with their stock which i presume must be over
or then again they would continue sellig their current products even after the centrino pro release -
My guess is that you will still see some of the old config systems in retail stores but direct from HP will be the 965. I also think that nVidia will have some graphics options on HP.com before retailers will get their hands on it. I am hoping for a discrete on the 2500 series.
-
Yeah, it would be nice if they had a wee stronger option than a 128MB Go 7200 in the 14.1 notebooks (provided the dv2000t's thermal properties could allow anything more).
-
-
Do we have any indication when these will be available? I'm about to buy a new notebook (either an dell m90 or hp nx9420) and I'm considering buying now but I might be able to hold out until late June if it makes sense to.
-
Well, the general consensus around here seems to be around May 9th (for the consumer line anyway). Seeing as there are already a few Santa Rosa HPs in NewEgg's possession, it may very well be likely. -
It looks like the compaq line is right around the corner.
http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/07/hp-set-to-release-yet-more-santa-rosa-based-laptops/ -
I just found this:
Seems like -b(basic?), -p(proffesional?), and -w(workstation?) replaces nx-, nc-, and nw-, respectively. But it's a bit strange that both 17" models have professional GPU's. They'll probably add ATI 2600 as an option (the nx9420 can have a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 510M according to both HP and nVidia, though I've never seen it being sold). Guess we haven't seen all the facts yet. -
yheaa, so many choices.
With compaq on bluray and HP on HDDVD, looks like they got both sides covered.
I still like the HP line more. -
Yea what is the update on the release? I am about to pull the trigger on the business line ones since they are already out. I just cant customize like I want
-
-
SO is there any info on pricing yet? -

I wish HP would give you the option for 7200RPM hard drives and wxga+ screen on the 14" model.
-
So will this Santa Rosa come in the 14.1 size? Will I be able to get that student discount one these?
-
-
What happened to the HDMI out on the 9500? The 9000 has it, did they just get rid of it for the refresh? that seems hard to believe...
also, is this 8600M as powerful as say a 7600go or something like that? or do we still not know this? -
Yea, what is this 8600M. Is it like intregrated processor. Other than my confusion over this, these laptops look vERY nice.
-
The 8600M is rumored to be more powerful than the current Go 7600. The 8400M is also supposed to be as powerful as the 7600.
It appears that nVidia is dropping the "go" label and replacing it with an "M" on all their mobile GPU's from this point on. -
-
I can't get an x1900 in the 19" biz notebook?
-
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF06a/321957-321957-64295-321838-3329741-3355678.html
The 8510p is up on their website already. Stupid "coming soon" tag though. Also I wonder how the x2600 will perform. -
-
Do we have any idea if HP is actually going to release a dedicated graphics card option with their new dvx5xx series?
-
according to Cnet, it'll be about a month or so...
-
-
-
-
Does that also mean that the old dv 9000, 6000 series gets phased out in like a month or so? or do they just receive a price reduction?
-
I bet they will keep them around until the new graphic cards are available. That's probably why they have both right now. I notice that the price of the dv9000t is not currently any cheaper.
-
Heh-heh. I noticed the same. The only thing that will help the old model at this point is the Go 7600 and the 15% coupon floating around (if it still works).
-
Why is it that HP not making expresscard available on all of its laptops? I thought displayport or at least HDMI would be available to replace VGA by now.
-
i dont understand why hp is being such A holes about the whole graphic card.... nVidia has already released the new 8m series
-
-
Hopefully this article should answer few questions.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_42279.html -
-
i hope so too, iv been looking forward to the santa rosa hp's for months
-
yeah, i wish it like heaven too ! i actually went to HP site and configured a 2500t and it's really under $1,399 !
I would probably give another $200-300 on a 8600 GPU !
but i'm waiting more to see the new ASUS models ! -
I don't think it'll cost THAT much lol... by the way if they release it before may 16 you can use the coupon that's floating around here and take 15% off!
