Just got my email confirmation from hp about an hour ago for my envy 15. They said estimated shipping date would be today and they made it. I thought they weren't even going to send me an email today let alone ship it out. Actually all of us that purchased our envy on the 18th got our email confirmations today, I think about 6 or 7 of us.

Does tracking information show up for you? My notebook which HP claimed to had shipped out on Tuesday morning still doesn't have any tracking information displayed and it is now Thursday. I wouldn't mind as much as I wasn't expecting it to get shipped under the 30th (tomorrow), but since HP already sent me an email saying they had shipped it, I am feeling very antagonized and annoyed that I don't have ANY status regarding the notebook (receiving the email on Tuesday gave me hopes of receiving it tomorrow, but from the looks of things, I don't even know if I'll get it on Tuesday which was the expected arrival date).

Well mine is finally showing some information now:

    Tracking no.: 4019528XXXXX
    E-mail notificationsOn Schedule
    InitiatedPicked upIn transitDelivered

    In transit
    SHANGHAI CN Shipment Dates
    Ship date Oct 29, 2009
Estimated delivery Nov 2, 2009 by 10:30 AM
    Destination
    ALEXANDRIA, VA

Keep in mind, I ordered this computer on 10/18, then recieved an email 6am Tuesday morning (10/27) and now it scheduled to arrive on 11/2.

Honestly if werent for the 25% cashback I would have cancelled this order a long time. Without that additional 25% discount.. I would much rather have bought one out a store with a easier return policy and immediate satisfaction.

Well, FedEx finally has information for my notebook that "shipped" on Tuesday. It is "In Transit" in "Shanghai, CN". The current estimated delivery date is Monday, November 2 (which means I won't get to set it up until I get home that evening unless I decide to go home for lunch to pick it up).

Edit: Now I have the </wonderful> message "Package received after FedEx cutoff".

Belive it or not, all of us have this problem!!! We all have tracking numbers that have tracking numbers that, when w click on the link, say :No information for the following shipments/FedEx Office orders has been received by our system yet. I just got my email last night so I don't know whether they have updated the system yet. I'm just going to check throughout the day and let you know the status. All I know is that i'm happy to get a tracking number, two other fellas ordered their envy's the same day and don't have any confirmation yet. We all have two day shipping as well but I don't have much hope it will get here by tomorrow.

What does this mean? It was picked up twice and both times was after the cutoff?

Mine is showing up on Fedex's website, finally; after 36 hours of HP notifying me.

It seems that something went wrong at the pick-up date. I have had bad experiences with Fedex before, especially home delivery; so I'm not sure if I should trust what their tracking service is telling us.

I posted earlier about what the tracking information will show once it finally does show. It usually shows that the package was picked-up after cutoff. EVERY HP laptop I have ever ordered that came from Shanghai says the same thing. As to why it says it multiple times, it's done that to me in the past as well. It's just a quirk with the tracking system. I've received packages from America, that have tracking information duplicated multiple times. It's nothing to worry about.

I called Fed Ex to speak to their international department but they were in a meeting that was supposed to last one hour. I had work, so I could not do it until now...

anyway on tracking the package again, it says now Int'l shipment release. It didn't even give me an estimate of to when I will be receiving my laptop so I went ahead and called the number that was given to me this morning
    (800)-455-4588

and I just spoke to the lady so said that from her end my computer was being released and loaded and ready to go.. and that by tomorrow morning at 10:30, the computer should be at my door....

    Lets hope that is right.

Well, my notebook is now in Anchorage, Alaska according to FedEx... and my estimated delivery date jumped up a day.

I had already rescheduled appointments so that I could be home on Monday to pick it up since FedEx was telling me it was supposed to be delivered on Monday (and I have to reschedule appointments at least 2 business days in advance). I am not a happy camper. Do you think if I called HP, they would compensate me somehow or get FedEx to speed up the shipment?

They just sent me this email:
Due to product constraints we will be unable to ship your order on the original estimated ship date. The revised estimated ship date for your order is 11/11/2009 or no later than 7 business days from the original estimated ship date. If you prefer not to wait you may cancel your order and receive a prompt refund by either replying to this email message with your order number or calling our toll-free customer service number at 866-288-1610 between 7:00 A.M. - 2:00 A.M. (ET) Monday through Friday or on Saturday between 10:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. (ET).

If we do not hear from you before we ship your order, we will assume you have agreed to this shipment delay and still want your custom PC order. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused and thank you for your patience. Following this email you will receive a HP Home & Home Office Store $50 coupon due to the delay of your order.

That is exactly how i got it.

I don't think there's anything HP can do to speed up FedEx. And about compensation, unless it's delayed extremely beyond what was originally stated, I doubt they would do more than the $50 that others are getting.

Well, according to FedEx, my notebook departed Anchorage, Alaska (but it doesn't tell me where it's headed), so no delay there I guess. Do you think they will give me the $50 credit if I called and complained? Also, do you think if I called and complained about how they changed the free upgrades to a better deal, they might do something for that (maybe offer me a free upgraded hard drive to swap with the one in the notebook)? I don't mean to be lame to the HP people, but I'd really like to milk whatever I can from this.

Well, that's where I say, unless it's beyond the original shipping date. Even if they slowed the process down, but did meet the original build-by dates, I don't see the problem there. Now if they end up shipping the laptop and you get it past the date you should have gotten it, then that's a separate issue altogether. It depends really on when you should receive the laptop. Even if they slowed the process down, if you still get it on time, then there's no problem. If the process gets slowed down, and you get it later. Then that's a problem I'd bring to HP's attention.

Mine departed Anchorage at 3:02PM, so based on that, I believe it is on this flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX90

However, for my notebook, I never got any message regarding customs or International shipping release or anything like that.

Now my question is, will it be driven from Memphis to my local distribution center, or flown? If it gets on a plane tonight and arrives in the city that my local distribution center is, I may just go and pick it up myself (even though the distribution center is over an hour away).

That's the same flight my laptop is on. What sucks is even though I am in California, the laptops ALWAYS go to the Hub in Memphis first. So it's going to go to Memphis, then back out west.

The last laptop I brought was shipped this way:

    SHANGHAI CN -->ANCHORAGE, AK-->MEMPHIS, TN-->FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-->FORT MYERS, FL--->PUNTA GORDA, FL--->Port Charlotte

So I really can't see how it would get to either punta gorda or fort myers to be on the truck and delivered by 10:30...

If its shipped out of Fort Myers, I can pick it up at the desort station after 6pm. I would only take me 15 minutes to get there.

If its from Fort Myers then I might as well wait until Monday, because I'm not traveling for more than 20 minutes to get there.

I have never tried to pick up a package mid-route. Do you just go up there with some identity and they will give it to you or what?(I probably won't do that this time, but it would be nice to know for future reference)

Well it's always the same thing. What happens is, it departs from Shanghai into Alaska. Then AK to Memphis, then to me in California. It's been that way for as long as I can remember.

I know UPS sometimes does that too. I've had a package ship from Phoenix, but go to UPS' hub in Louisville, then back out west again.

What happened was that I called the closest one to me, which would be in Punta Gorda... But sometimes my stuff goes out for delivery from Fort Myers.

So punta gorda is the closest... I knew it would ship from there because that was what the fedex operator said.
I missed the first delivery and I knew I would, so I asked them can I pick it up and where.

In order to pick it up you have to wait until the truck gets back to the station which would be an hour before the station closes.
You have to bring identification preferably your Drivers License or a state Id.

as of 6:29 its now in the desort facility in fort myers. Now the big question is, weather they will have it on the truck and ready to deliver it to me by 10:30 like originally promised.

I have to be at work by 11am so the latest I can leave the house is 10:35
if not, then I have to wait till it will be delivered by Monday.

I'm just happy that its no longer in stinking Alaska.

Well, even though the estimated delivery date says Wednesday, the status says "On FedEx vehicle for delivery", so I am guessing I will get it today. :) I am hoping I get it earlier in the day (perferably within the next 2 hours).

As soon as I get my dv6t today, I plan on doing a review of it, so expect that. :)

[Edit: It has arrived. Review is imminent (decided not to do an unboxing or first impressions).]

    Quite lucky indeed;

How did you guys get it so soon? Mine also shipped on the 28th, but the ETA is Nov 4th.

Well my ETA is the 3rd, but still shows the darn clearance delay. I need it cleared soon, I need to receive my laptop by the 3rd.

Funny enough that when I called Fedex this morning, they said that my laptop went on the truck late because of a big storm. She never said where so now I know.
