yup, I checked all accessories on hp website but they all too costly, only warranty is something I found that will make $50.00 coupon worth it.

I'll look into the coupon tomorrow, but I'm not sure it would benefit me. The only one I can see for $100 is the accidental damage insurance, but I'm typically really careful with my stuff, so I'm not sure if it would pay off for me. But $15 for a $60 set of noise-cancelling headphones doesn't sound too bad to me. I'd like a pair for the notebook anyway as my MP3 player only has the small in-the-ear variety.

A little bit, in by 1:00AM and up by 6:00AM, but it's only 11:00PM here right now. Where do you live?

Hey what did they tell you in your email about the delay? did they say when they expect shipment?? I ordered mine from costco with an expected ship day of also the 14. I called HP up but other then telling me its still in the factory i don't know anything else. I also find it hard to believe that there is a delay or a lack of parts due to the fact that there webiste still has a 11 day lag. (same lag as when i ordered mine) thanks

Hey everyone, been reading on here for a while and I have my own dv5000t ordered, supposed to be shipped today (16th).

I think that the delay on yours is for the 1x1024MB ram chip and the processor in it :(

If you go to the page to customize a dv5000t, and click on the "Need a PC sooner?" over on the right side, it lists a 7 day delay on 1024MB ram chips and 2.0GHz core duo processors, so that might be affecting your shipment date?

Just a heads up, you could probably call HP to find out exactly when its gonna come.

Luckily mine doesn't have either of the delayed components, hope it ships today!

Yeah, I just checked that out. w00t. Sure glad I ordered my 1 stick of overpriced RAM now.

And about the offers, mhx, there's only 1 offer valid per order, or something. I think I would have to pick either or, but at any rate I've already ordered the headphones, so oh well.

call them and downgrade your CPU/memory.

I think im pretty sure of what I am going to do as for upgrades in power/speed.
Get another stick of the memory that I already have:
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820227110

Upgrade the HD to 80GB depending on what type/brand hd they give me for the 40GB. with:
    http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16822146050
*the 5400RPM is the best bang for the buck in speed and saving battery life.

i started a new post about memory: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=45146
    check it out

Hurry up and review it, guys, 'cause now I'm going to be one of those people that sits around whining about my delivery date. oh, and i know i got hosed on the memory, I was feeling rich. but to dj---i got mine through Costco, which costs about the same as HP, and I can walk in any time in the next 6 months, and just return it.

Hey anybody who gets a shipping confirmation: Can you guys let us know once it ships, Especially those who ordered in the beginning of the month. Like someone around here already said if you ordered the 2ghz cpu or 1 gig ram as of now HP's site says its a 7 day delay. I hope i don't have to wait another 7 days.

Well mine didn't ship yesterday (16th) like it was supposed to, I called HP last night and they said there was no specific backorder on my machine, just a backup in factory due to the popularity of the dv5000t.
They said to definitely expect it by the middle of next week at the latest. So I'm guessing that means it should ship either today or on Monday. Hope you guys all get yours soon too!

I've checked again and mine still hasn't shipped out. On the website, they still claim there is a 7 day wait for the 2.0GHz processor and 1 Gig stick of RAM, as they did yesterday. I'm hoping this means that my laptop is delayed 7 days from the original estimate, and not another 7 days from the current date. I guess we'll see, I'm hoping it'll come next week.

Well, I just got the shipping delay email too. I guess it didn't have anything to do with backordered parts, just a general backup in the factory.
Mine is now supposed to ship on the 20th, which isn't too bad.
I also got the $50 coupon for hp.com.

wow. the 7400 would really pull that??
also is the 7400 in the dv5000t a TC (turbo cache = shared memory) or actaully have its own 128mb dedictated to itself?/

its 128mb dedicated, with no turbocache unlike the sony FE's and SZ's which have 128mb ded and turbocache.

And yes it will put something around 1800-2000 in 3dMark05.

I'd like to see how the 128MB version of the GeForce Go 7400 fairs with games. I love all the other features of the dv5000t, but I'd like the option to play some of the fairly newer games on it (even at the expense of good graphics).

I'll be watching this topic closely to see how this baby runs :)

    http://laptopmag.com/Review/HP-Pavilion-dv5000t.htm

"The dv5000t is one of the first notebooks to use Nvidia’s mid-tier GeForce 7400 Go processor. In terms of raw performance, it actually represents a step down from the dv4000’s graphics chip (ATI’s Mobility Radeon X700). That scored a 5,744 in 3DMark03 when we reviewed it last November; the 7400 on the dv5000t scored a lower but still respectable 3,996. In our FEAR frame rate test, the system turned in a score of 23 fps with autodetect settings (800 x 600 resolution), which is good enough to play the latest titles at lower resolution."

Yeah, I'll have to do a little mini-review or something. I don't have the experience with laptops that others do on this site, so don't expect anything worthy of a Pullitzer. I'm on a somewhat limited schedule, so maybe I'll at least try to get some basic stuff out about it, especially the weight (I've been most interested in that since I need to carry it around my campus) and battery life.

Hey, astrocreep96 how did you find out it shipped? did you get an email from them or did you call hp directly? I know in past notebooks i ordered the email confirmation of shipment came a couple days after shipment. Where did you order it from? I ordered mine from costco with also a shipment day of the 14th. Hopefully mine shipped over the weekend too.

I ordered directly from hpshopping.com on the 1st of March. I checked the order status on the 19th and the site said it had shipped out the evening of the 18th. Soon after I got an email confirmation.

Mine is supposed to be delivered today, but for some reason it shows that they tried to deliver to another city at 8:30AM, even though FedEx usually comes around our area at 4:30PM. So, maybe I'll get it tomorrow or maybe they'll try again today? I'm not really sure what's going on...
