    Would you care to explain why is that? And does it mean that for every release from now on there won't be any overvolting?!

    I'm not Andrew the catalyst creator :D You should ask him instead.

    I've tried several version newer than 11.10s. No overvolt. :(

    So unless I have compatibility issues with BF3 (which is the main reason I wanted the 11.10)...I ain't switching.

    Hi Guys, Johny,

    I installed the 11.10 AMD mobility drivers ontop of the 8.830.3.6000 HP official, and am experiencing flashing artifacts that appear about once a second in BF3, and in Uniheaven 2.1 (Default settings, with Tesselation turned on by default).

    Have you guys encountered this problem on the 11.10 drivers as well?

    I'm wondering if my gfx card is faulty or of its a driver issue - If you guys havent encountered artefacting on 11.10 then its probably my card and I should get the laptop RMA'd yeah?

    Cheers

    8.830.3.6000 HP official? Check again mate, it should be ".3000". As soon as I understood that I can't overvolt with the 11.10's, I dumped them :S Which version of the 11.10 driver did you use? AMD Mobility? DNA? XtremeG? They are different.

    AMD cards use different architecture, and besides shader clocks automatically overclock with the core clock, cause they are linked. I think the ratio is 2:1 for shader and core respectively (at least for Nvidia 8xxx series that I know). So no need to worry about it.

    Ah yep - sorry i meant 8.830.3.3000

    Yeah, along with the flashing textures in BF3 / Uniengine, I cannot up the voltage when using AMD Mobility 11.10

    Which version of 11.10 did you guys not encounter the flashing textures with?

    Update: i removed 11.10 using driver sweeper, then reinstalled HP drivers + 11.9 mobility, and BF3 flashing issues are gone - so it must be a driver issue then

    Uniheaven still exhibits same flashing artefacts in 11.9 tho, so yeah, probably a driver issue since BF3 flashing is now fixed with 11.9

    ah thanks johny +1,

    thats defniitely useful information to know!

    im sticking with 11.9 since i can run BF3 with no artefacts. didnt like running the official HP drivers since i reckon they must be old (11.3 or 11.4 from what I understand)

    do you know if anyone is running a version of 11.10 successfully with no artefacts in BF3? AMD mobility 11.10 (whql, and preview 2s) I definitely had issues with

    Cheers :)

    No, I don't...so if I were in your position I would simply wait for the next wave of drivers. Btw, how is performance with BF3? I am going to get it and I would like to know how it performs.

    i think im the first to have a 7690m and post in here :p. Let me just say that a 7690m is pretty much the same thing as the 6770m, not that much of a performance difference. However, due to the 7690m being a "rare" and new grahpics card, every amd driver i try to install fails on me :p. Some work, but i cant really update to the newest versions and all that(which may not be a bad thing since you cant overvolt in the newest versions anyway). Im overclocking mine at 850/1030 and testing it for now, ill come and post back later my results later after playing bf3. Btw, most of you guys said your gpu roof was around 840 and would just crash if you played something like crysis 2. Likewise, mine is around 850, my voltage is 1.060v and regardless of how much i increase my voltage, the max i can increase the 7690 without crashing is still 850. Geez, im going 1.060v without any cooling pad, im an idiot

    I got it set at 800/1000 with no issues, using the latest HP drivers.. haven't check for "artifacts" don't really know what they are but to my eye, bf3 looks beautiful and I run it at 35fps average, max 60fps

    Alright, figured it out. If PowerPlay was disabled, it would force the minimum profile, even if it was told to use higher clocks. Enabled PowerPlay and I got it pretty stable at 825/1075/1050mV. Overvolting doesn't help at all.

    Just took my first dip into OC since my old 9300M GS
    (38 months at counting)

    As this is day one, I haven't done much multi-hour tests.

    I have set 875 MHz core, 1000 MHz memory, and gotten through 3DMark Vantage (~8400 score), Unigine Heaven, AND a 1080p Youtube/Firefox test without anything unusual.

    I used a Zalman NC2000 cooler, max GPU temp was 73 degrees.

    I did experience that flashing effect in the Heaven benchmark, but its always done that. running in Windowed mode or OpenGL made it go away.
    It seems to be a common fullscreen issue in a few games.. for me it always affects The Witcher.

    I'll have a pretty good idea how stable it REALLY is after a 12 hour SWTOR run.

    Hmmm.. Running a few .flv players seems to kick back to default clocks when 1 GHz memory is used.

    Probably not liking that setting.. but then again they call it a GHz barrier for a reason.

    BTW.. Why should Powerplay be disabled again?
    I have it enabled until I hear a good reason why not.
    I'm using the 11.12 drivers for SWTOR, so its not as if I could overvolt anyway.

    Yes, 7690M = rebranded 6770M. It even has the same o/c ceilings...this is a very, very good card. Btw 1.060 is overkill. Try 1.055. I'm on 1.054 with 860/1060.

    I repare in one thing its very interesting, All knows this Brand new graphic card 7690m XT is a rebranded 6770m with same clocks (according to GPU-z) but i'm able to overclock more, and Default config get more 3dpoints! i thing something is missing in our know about this card! the 6770 are able to overclock its 900/1000 with voltage change, in my GPU, its not needed!
    Maybe its not the same same card! i mean its the same but with certain improvments. not?

    HD7690M XT = HD6770M
    HD7690M = HD6750M
    HD7670M = HD6650M
    HD7470M = HD6490M

    yes.
    start overclock slowly. if you want first memory after core and do maybe 5times run sm tests on 3dmark 06. only sm test to find for artifacts. if sone red bleeps appear on screen press esc and downclock
    this method i think its better than artifact scanner from att and other

    Right now, my stable OCs to be able to play BF3 are 780/850. Over that (800/850) BF3 crashes right at launch. Do I need to increase voltage to OC over 800/850?

    Also, the video capture set to 1/2 frame on MSI Afterburner is in black and white and also has the right margin overlap on the left margin from the left. Google results say it is probably a GPU driver issues, but I am running the latest HP drivers.

    OC/D to 825/950 now on stock voltage. The temp never passes 72 on the GPU sensors and the CPU is laying below 80. How can it be that my FPS went down (BF3)? Still the same GFX settings, same drivers, etc..

    Im now getting FPSs aorund 30-40 on everything low..

    Anyone else experiencing freeze issues with MSI Afterburner while playing BF3? The FPS is decent with low-medium settings, but it hard freezes mid-game during the first few matches. I have to shut down and reboot from the power button to "fix" it. I am running 850/900 on stock voltage. What could be causing the freeze?

    Will try out Trixx and report back.

    increase your core voltage a bit (maybe just 5mV) and try again. your overclocks are not stable enough i guess.

    Also, which version of 11.12 is it? Mobility? Download link please. :D
