    I can't change my voltage.
I even went to the .cfg file in the MSI folder to set
    UnlockVoltageControl
    UnlockVoltageMonitoring
both to 1 but it doesn't work. D:
    My CCC is 12.2

    Edit: I have a dv7
    i7-2630QM
    8GB of ram
    HD 6770M
    1 GB

you can't overvolt with any driver after 11.9.

Yup, you can't overvolt after 11.9 and you can't overvolt using MSI Afterburner.

    Hi guys,

I wonder, if you all test your stable overclocks only in SYNTHETIC BENCHMARKS or do you (can you?!) also play games with the clocks posted?!

With Catalyst 12.2 I can not reach more then 795/840 stable playing Crysis 2 DX 11 High Res Tex (my laptop is dv6-6b55eg, i7 2670qm, 6770m 2 GB gddr5). If I go further, laptop freezes.

    Can anybody test that?

each chip is different and so overclocks differently. the best test is to use both the synthetic benchmarks and the games as well.

Clocks are in my sig, 860 core/1060 mem and yes I did overvolt, voltage is 1.055. Using the latest HP/AMD 11.9 driver.

I really wish I could overvolt with newer versions.

Me too. :( And now since AMD removed the files needed to make 3rd party overclocking software to work in their recent set of drivers, Unwinder the MSI AB creator might drop Unofficial Overclocking for AMD GPU. :( :(

have you tried using the /XCL (eXtend Clock Limits) in Afterburner? according to Unwinder, it's using official AMD APIs to extend the Overdrive clock limits in the CCC.

(i am just not sure if mobility chips can use the CCC Overdrive feature or not; i know i can't with my laptop!)

I've been doing some tests today for stability, here's some results on what I've done today for you guys :)

Tested using MSI Kombustor running at 1366x768 full screen (I run most of my games on that resolution anyway), for 50,000 frames (around 6 minutes), 12.1 Catalyst driver, overclocking with Sapphire Trixx v4.1.0, turbo boost enabled for processor, run on a CoolerMaster Ergostand cooler.
I've also run L.A Noire for 30 minutes on each clock settings and no artifacts.

    50,000 Frames- 6:23
    Core: 850MHz
    Memory: 975MHz
    Voltage: 1.050v
    Max Temperature: 81c
    STABLE

    50,000 Frames- 6:14
    Core: 850MHz
    Memory: 1,000MHz
    Voltage: 1.051v
    Max Temperature: 82c
    STABLE

    50,000 Frames- 6:10
    Core: 875MHz
    Memory: 1,000MHz
    Voltage: 1.052v
    Max Temperature: 83c
    STABLE

    50,000 Frames- 6:25
    Core: 875MHz
    Memory: 1,025MHz
    Voltage: 1.053v
    Max temperature: 83c
    STABLE

As you can see the last one was bottle necking even with the highest clocks, might run it again with a different voltage to see if that makes a difference.

I used the Burn In test on MSI Kombustor, full screen using GL2, no AA, 1366x768.
Sapphire Trixx lets you over volt when you overclock.

^...have to agree here. Do you want money or something? Cause you're not gonna get it.

I too have the 12.2 Leshcat drivers, tried many tricks for the OV to work...nothing. :(

I'm also kinda suspicious about his screeenshot. I have the exact same software/hardware and I successfully OV, the "Cur VDDC" displays the current voltage which should be more than 1.050. Just sayin'.

Was it an early April Fool's joke?

^ money is the least thing i had in my mind. :D
i'm testing it for awhile to see what it will do to my system before i decide to show how. don't want someone else system brick because of me. :(

current VDDC depend on which clock mode you're on.
Idle mode, 2D mode and 3D mode. For 2D(400/800) and 3D(725/800) mode, it will use 1.050v and for Idle mode(100/150) it will use 0.900v. I modded my Idle mode to use 1.000v to check on something. :D

I'm still trying not to be an "ADULT". That said I've gone beyond 850/1000 without overvolting. I haven't had any crashes but I have had bottlenecks with Vantage and 3dmark11. I'm not sure how far I should test my O/C as it seems fine at 850/1000 but I'm still curious to try getting beyond that hehe

lmao i forgot. its abit buggy and success rate is not 100%. i get best result with Leshcat 12.2 UP5 and not 12.3.

12.3 is abit buggy for me. anyone using 12.3? can help check whether the graphic clock stay@725/800?

Sapphire TRiXX told me disable ulps. I try to check the box "disable ulps" and restart my laptop, but all the same TRiXX ask me to disable ulps. I also tried this key of registry
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\ 0000]

    but the same result.

Using Leshcat 12.3, yes default clocks are 725/800. It's like it never kicks in to 2D mode. That is definitely not good. But not bad either.

12.4 has fixed idle clocks .. really looking forward to overvolt in newer versions :D

currently runnin 900/900 on 1.055 ... really need to overvolt ... i don´t know how you guys can reach 1000mhz on memory

I got the 2 gig version .. that could be the problem .. but there are no i7 with a 1gig version around, sadly :)

now running 900/980 with 1.070 ... looking really good so far :D

Hey, I just got the same system and had the same results when overclocking.

The stock HP drivers will BSOD if you try overclocking with MSI Afterburner. No matter what clocks I set it always crashed. So I switched to the Catalyst 12.4 drivers and disabled ULPS and now I can overclock a decent amount without getting any bluescreens/crashing.

Stock clocks with the 7690m are 600MHz Core and 800MHz Memory, my system is stable at 750MHz Core and 950MHz Memory.

The only downside is that with the 12.4 drivers the GPU is listed as a "Radeon 6600/6700 Series" instead of 7690m, but it performs just as well (if not better).

Yeah I know, it's just one of those dumb OCD things that irks me. I'm sure one could easily change it by messing with the drivers or something.

But it could be listed as a 1mb Cirrus Logic ISA card for all I care, so long as I get a decent framerate in Crysis 2. :p
