My beats edition still hasnt shipped and no update from HP, not even an email after my last ship date of the 11th came and went.
Been too busy with work to call and honestly dont want to even think about it as I'm incredibly pissed off.

HP has lost a life long customer.

 

I had a shipping date of the feb 2nd, my wife called in today and was told that they had notified us of the issue (they hadn't). Later that day we got an email saying that we had a revised shipping date of the 26th and that we would need to email or call in to hp to confirm that we still wanted the order or they would cancel it and credit our account. They said that if we accept they will go ahead and give us an additional 10% discount ontop of the 500 dollar coupon I used. We have three days to accept.

 

Quick question:
MY new girlfriend is being shipped and is speeding in my direction; but i noticed on the tracking pages, all the new stages are processed fairly late at night, 8 PM or later. This is Shanghaiing time yes? Isnt that a bit late? mm..

ditto...same thing happened to me and I also ordered beats edition. I called them before I got an email and they told me that they will refund $50 once my laptop gets shipped. Hopefully I will get $50 on top of 10% off but still its ridiculous that I will get my laptop approx 2 months after ordering it!

Oh its better than that. So I got 500 off for a coupon, I got a 15% coupon to use anything in the store, then I got 10% off as a refund, and they expiated my shipping.

I have still NOT gotten a resolution on the new Envy/Raidance I got delivered in January and languishes in Texas for 17 days now, not getting a Radiance and not not-getting a Radiance. My case manager has just today offered to replace my order for the new Envy w/Radiance with an Elitebook 8540w with dream color 2 display, Core i7-640, 8GB RAM, Nvidia FX880. It lists for, sit down, $3,200! Price for a one-off purchase from HP SMB of the model configured with a 25% discount is about $2,400. The Dream Color 2 is said to be among the very best notebook screens ever made, right up there with the best on the Dell Precision and Lenovo W700s. But the machine is a very heavy beast that get's about 1.5 hrs on battery. It's definitely worth more than the $944 I paid for the new Envy it would be replacing, but it's not worth more to me as a user. So, I'm thinking I take it, never open the box, put it up for sale first at NBR then, if no luck, on eBay. Those who know this machine say it is an excellent workstation, though with the lowest rung graphics card (about equiv. to an nVidia 335). Looking at past sales on eBay, seems like most go for $1,000 to $1,500, though none had the DC2 screen, a $425 option. Kinda concerned that it is such a niche product, not only a workstation, but a 15.6" one, where normally they are 17". I definitely prefer to own the Envy (did a trade for a Dell Precision for my kid in graphic arts, who was planning to give the Envy when I first ordered it; he was in classes and couldn't wait, and my case manager only made this offer yesterday, so it would have been a great substitute for him, who could've used it, but the Dell Precision has some things going for it over the HP, and we got a great deal buying it a year old from a friend. Anybody have thoughts on this? Know more about the market for workstation laptops? Think one that you would pay HP $2,400 for could sell on eBay, new, box unopened, for at least My alternative is to ask the Case Manager if instead I could have, say, a free 3year Care Pack for my refurb plus a slice battery. She generally says no to anything I ask for, though. This is the first time, after about 15 transactions w/HP in the past 16 months, that I have had a "typical consumer experience" with them. In every other situation, I have been able to quickly get a resolution, or be offered generous incentives to stick it out.

 

Everything arrived in good order. While I'm not pleased about the shipping delays, the machine itself is pleasing.

Build quality is top notch and the Radiance... well... awesome. As I mentioned earlier in the thread... i did opt to go w/ the i7 model. About the only complaint I have is that the fan is fairly aggressive and noisy under load.

 

Having received my i7 Envy w/ Radiance. I went ahead an installed a Crucial 128GB C300 SSD. My cold boot time is just shy of 20sec running Win7 x64 Enterprise, and heavy applications like Outlook launch instantly.

While an expensive upgrade, I'm absolutely feeling the extra speed from the SSD.

... While I cannot account for the drop in CPU sub-score (chipset drivers maybe?), a significant jump in disk performance makes the overall score even w/ the limitation of the graphics performance w/ the SSD scoring a near perfect 7.7 (max is 7.9).

Like many others who have installed SSDs, I can confirm that this does add a CONSIDERABLE improvement in system responsiveness. While an expensive upgrade... one that should be considered if you're looking to tap your machine's full potential.

 

So, my girl's made it to Newark. Stay away from the shore, young laptop! That way leads to nothing but darkness.

its usually delayed twice before it is shipped. On the second delay they will offer 10 % off the purchase price. Also, call and make sure you get that 10%, and also ask for better shipping because even if they say you will get faster shipping, you will have to call in and ask for it.

 

I did get 10% off email but do they give that after its shipped? I will call to get faster shipping

 

I did call and they said its gonna ship tomorrow even though its saturday and I asked them to make my order expedited shipping and they did that. Now I have to see when they ship and when I get it. *sigh*

I called HP resolutions team (number is 8662176014) and they said that my beats is delayed again and will ship on 11th. I asked if they could instead send me regular envy 14 with similar specs and they said no because I couldn't use my $500 off coupon again, so I immediately canceled it.

Those s treat us like because we did not pay the "full" amount of the laptop and used coupons which they issued full knowingly that they would have issues with delays/parts etc.

To be fair about the coupon, they were likely issues to help clear out stock of certain laptops. It looks like their mistake was allowing them to be used for the beats edition, which is no longer listed in their store.

 

But it is still listed in their quick ship laptops! I just cheked and they have beats edition listed there

 

I received a call today appreciating my order for the HP Envy 14 Beats Edition and they gave me a deal!, free beats by DRE TOUR HD's free they are in ear headphones and i'm happy i'm getting them for free for just waiting for my envy it is strange though my laptop isn't delayed or anythign status is still the same. I already own the beats by DRE STUDIO headphones and love them won't be letting them go for some time.

 

When did you order and what was the initial shipment date? Its never delayed and you got the free headphones?

I am guessing they might be doing that if they are launching a newer version of beats envy, just like how apple offered $100 discount to people who bought ipad 1 before launch of ipad 2. Atleast I am hoping that would be the case!

 

I ordered my beats laptop on February 14 2011, and the ship date was march 14 2011 which i understand is reasonable, i've ordered my older tx2500 and took about the same time so I was fine. It has never been delayed ship date is still march 14th and I made sure with the representative if it will or has a delayed date. After asking they confirmed everything is still on track and i should receive it around then. And then they asked if I wanted a free set of Beats by Dre Tour HD in ear headphones. I was puzzled at first because I didn't do anything to deserve them and I was waiting the usual amount of time. HP had not done anything to make it as if they owed me something. After more information I ordered the free headphones over the phone, and looking on my order status online it has already been shipped and will be at my door step this friday! nice deal IMO

I then asked about a newer version of the beats edition and they told, me they will be cancelling the Beats edition all together and just keep the original envy, and then they said keep a look out for a refreshed envy 14 in June of this year. But it was a sales/Customer service rep, so I'm not too confident in believing them.

 

It is possible that HP had a limited time agreement with Dr. Dre. Perhaps it is done and they are doing another type of deal. Most Laptop makers are starting to include Creative THX...which is NOT as good as Beats. Perhaps the new refresh won't be as good

 

I have heard of contracts like these affiliated companies stay together for a few years and then they break-up. But I imagined they both made a good profit from developing the envy with or without beats. Although an extension to include the beats solo would probably increase sales quite a bit more. The same with getting the beats name out there any known both to the music world and the computer savvy world.

 

So I was wondering does HP Over estimate package shipments/build dates or is it usually spot on? my ship/build date is the 14th but I've read a lot of times they have been early by a couple of days I hope so. I should be getting my free headphones tomorrow. according to fed ex

If you ordered the beats version you may not get a computer much less get one by your ship date. Lots of folks ordered in January and are still waiting for their beats. I've ordered 3 regular envy's from hp all arrived between 6 and 10 days after ordering. All arrived before the build dates.

 

Awdotson what have you done to get more info has your beats been delayed? Or has the order status changed to a new ship date?

 

I've called them a couple of times, and they've called more several more. They keep giving me the lame excuse of, to insure your machine is of top quality we must insure the parts are top notch and are currently unable to secure QA approved parts.

So the 11th was the 4th revised ship date. And still nothing, I wish they could be honest about it. The order status on the website still shows the orginal feb 2nd date, they've yet to revise it.

Ultimately my worry is that they just want to hold onto my cash as long as possible. They give giving me little treats, 10% off here, expedited shipping etc.

I was just recently give notice of a delay, I talked to a supervisor and was told i could get 100 dollars off and 15 percent off a next purchase, the original ship date was the 14th and now it is the 29th i was told that I would see that the laptop should be shipped in next few days and then minutes later after the chat session I received the delay. I felt a knife go through my back almost. Was just being told that I would get my laptop in matter of a week or so, but then noticing email minutes later for a coupon and the delay.
