Looks like I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Called FedEx, ordered 7/12, scheduled to be delivered Wed 7/28 by 7:30pm. They couldn't give me a tracking number though, "for security purposes". Oh well, I'm sure HP will update it, probably next Thursday, lol.

 

I remember waiting for computers before but never this long...

 

so if my laptop ships out tuesday as expected it will most likely get here on saturday since the first one shipped out on a monday and arrived on friday. however, fedex does not deliver on saturdays so will it be at my local fedex and can i just go there and pick it up?

 

Hm, I ordered on 07/12 and when I called in they said that there weren't any packages to be delivered to my house and I was delayed for the 27th.

 

Yeah you can pick it up but you have to request it somehow, i forgot.

 

Mine is set to ship on the 29th. I hope I don't get any delays.

Call, ask to change a component. When they say they can't because it's in production and you would have to cancel to change your configuration, threaten to cancel. They will say it's a lot of work to cancel; how about we give you $x to keep the current configuration. You can either accept or counter, "how about $y so I won't cancel?" They might call your bluff so, be prepared.

 

Alrighty! I ordered on the 12th and just got off the phone with Fedex. They said no later then the 27th by 1030am.

 

I spoke with fedex, they said mine should be delivered by the 28th 4:30pm, they would not give any tracking number due to security and told me to get it from HP. I think its HP that is slow in updating their site. Oh yeah, I ordered it on the 12th.

 

im guessing all you guys who got an estimate from fedex did not receive a delay notification from hp via email?

 

i called fedex and they said they had no package in their system that was supposed to be delivered to my address, no delay email....ordered the 12th, ebd 22nd....status "in production"

I believe they have to make an attempt to deliver first then you can call and have them hold it. Not sure how long, but I'm sure a week isn't unreasonable. People have other things to do in their lives besides wait for FedEx.

 

For some sad reason, my life started revolving slower ever since I submitted my order on this freaking laptop. Months from now we'll look back and hardly remember any waiting haha

This is actually pissing me off.

I ordered the laptop, didn't get any discounts on it directly from HP, paying $1550 for this laptop, and its delayed. People who ordered it the same time, with same specs have it sent out already. PEOPLE a day AFTER I ordered mine got their shipped out before mine.

This is ridiculous. I paid for 2 day shipping, so I expect it on time. I don't understand how they can choose which laptops they send out, and how it can be delayed up to a week. Some of us are very tight for time, and have plans. If they know the laptops will be delayed, they shouldn't say it will be shipping out in 10 days when placing this order.

I called HP and complained, the best they gave me is $50 off, and gave me $39 back from my 2 day shipping, but they say it is still 2 day shipping.

If my laptop ever arrives, and if there is even one problem with it, I'm gonna snap. I expect this thing to be 100% perfect for this delay.

The thing that pisses me off the most, is that If I didn't call HP, I would have only gotten a $50 coupon for anything ELSE I order thats MORE than $200. YEA like I'm going to order another thing from them, costing more than $200, so it can be delayed as well. Give your head a shake HP.

I feel ya man. What really irks me is how many times I spoke with hp and they all assured me that my laptop has already been built and will ship as scheduled. Also that it is not a problem on their end but that fedex is just being slow updating their info. I literally just got off the phone with them minutes before I received my delay notification. And now due to their incompetence my laptop will be delivered after I leave for vacation.

 

Alright... My computer has been delayed from the 7th to the 12th to the 23rd... It is now the 24th and it still has not shipped. This is just getting insane. I was told that the i5 processors and the upgraded hard drives were all on backorder and that they were to be in the 17th and laptops would be built and shipped out in mass quantities on the 23rd. They said if it was delayed again, they would give me another 10 percent off my order on top of the already 10 percent that was already given to me from the second delay.

I still want my Envy but I am leaving on the 3rd of August and I really kind of need the laptop before then.

Anyone else with the 23rd shipping date receive any confirmation on their order being shipped? I am really getting annoyed with the shipping issue.

Also, another issue I am having is that the 5650 is really undervolted. The dv6t, which is supposed to be a lesser of a laptop, gets 9000+ in 3dMark because their GPU isnt undervolted and has the default clock of 550/800. I mean... Seriously HP... have some respect for us all. We expected a premium laptop and delays in shipping and sub-par GPUs... Its just really bugging me...

Its just not seeming like this laptop is as good as what we all expected it to be... or what the specs made it out to be. a 5650 should be the same across all models of one company... not switch it around, definitely not for a superior notebook like the Envy

 

So what if on tue or wed.. Nobody gets there envys.........

Then who's to blame hp or fedex?

also the 5650 is totally in spec. ATI specs for the 5650 is 450-650mhz core. sucks that HP clocked us at 450mhz but thats nothing overclocking won't fix

I made use of my $50 off coupon. I bought a 1-year accident coverage warranty and the HDMI->VGA cable (and a cheap mouse to push the cost up to $200)
the credit card I used to buy the envy should extend the accident coverage to two years.

 

I know about the thread... But the fact that they havent even bothered to contact me just enrages me. Also, overclocking can only get the cores safely to 524/860 or so without crashing. Also, you cannot go above 550 which is insane... I'm just really upset about HP's delay in shipping and providing us with the lowest clocking setting possible

 

Just call HP. website still says mine is in production (with shipdate of 7/21) but they told me mine shipped. they can't find a tracking number though... so I called Fedex and they confirmed a package is coming from china to my address and should arrive the 28th.

don't overclock the memory as much. memory is more sensitive to overclocking. lower it to about 825 and see how high the core will go

 

Ordered mine a while back. Build date 22nd of July. It is now the 24th of July and I haven't gotten any notice or anything of anything. Still says Order in Production on the website. Mehhh. Whyyy?

In all honesty, it would me of too to see other people who ordered after me get there's shipped first.

But to tell you the truth, I think you should've gotten more han just a stupid 50 credit.

I mean my ship date was the 21st it shipped out early mornin on the 22nd (according to fedex - whom which I believe FAR mor than hp) and hp gave me 25 credit back to my account for it shipping out just a few hours after the ship date. (pushing it to the 22nd)

Now I know 25 isn't as big as 50.. But I get that without having to spend anything.
and here you are getting a freakin delay... And they want you to spend more money? F-that man!!

I guess what I'm trying to way is that it really isn't fair that you get a stupid delay and to compensate you have to spend more money to get what they offer you.

I'd definitely push for $100 more on Monday. Put your foot down and say you weren't expecting to be slapped in the face this way. Don't be afraid of mannerisms or formalities or even looking like a spoiled brat in the mirror. This is completely unacceptable. I'd be completely PO'ed.

Alot of us were getting pretty upset as well with the incredibly inaccuracy of HPs order status..

Then we called fedex.. Spoke to a rep, and gave then our address and name.
Most of us got a response saying we have a package from shanghai to be delivered on the 28th no later than 430..

But I would really try fed ex.

Free shipping will probably remain free since it's such a pricey product.

I ordered July 20th, and my ship date is not until August 2nd...

 

It's kind of weird actually. My receipt still has the estimated build date as July 30th. I kept it pretty standard though so maybe mine didn't have to be custom built?
