Well the person i talked to at HP had told me my package had indeed shipped on the 21st, a day early, and that there was no order update because they were waiting on fedex for more information. Just called fedex and the guy i talked to laughed and said hp just sent them the shipping information right after i got off the phone with them.

So does hp not have their act together on these laptops? seems like people are getting theirs shipped after they call.....Everyone might wanna call hp cause it seems to work....

Mine is scheduled for delivery at 430 on the 28th.

Yeah my status on hp.com still is the same "In production (estimated ship date July 22,2010)".

Fedex can look up by your address that you are having the laptop shipped to and the name you have it under.

Just called Fedex and gave them my address and name. They confirmed there is a package being delivered from China. I ordered Ground shipping and they estimate delivery by Wednesday. She also said that they are not allowed to give out tracking numbers. My upgrades are 450 and SSD. So, no delay coupons/discounts for me. HP website still says estimated crap.

    Yeah, I received this:

    Dear -,

Due to production delays we will be unable to ship your order on the original estimated ship date. The revised estimated ship date for your order is 7/27/2010 or no later than 7 business days from the original estimated ship date. If you prefer not to wait you may cancel your order by either replying to this e-mail message with your order number or calling our toll-free customer service number at 866-288-1610 between 7:00 A.M. - 2:00 A.M. (ET) Monday through Friday or on Saturday between 10:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. (ET). If you choose to cancel your order, your refund will be released by HP within 24-48 business hours of cancellation confirmation. The posting of your refund to your credit card, e-finance, or PayPal account is subject to your bank’s processing time which usually takes 3-5 business days.

If we do not hear from you before we ship your order, we will assume you have agreed to this shipment delay and still want your custom PC order. As soon as your custom PC is ready for shipment, it will be assigned a tracking number with our carrier and you will receive a Shipment Notification e-mail from us. You can then check your tracking number online to obtain the estimated delivery date.

We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused and thank you for your patience.

    Sincerely,
    Customer Service
HP Home & Home Office Store

I ordered on 07/12/10. I'm very disappointed with this...

What's the number to call Fedex to ask if anything is shipping to your house? & What's the number for HP to complain about this?

    Edit: Nevermind.

Aside from those who got delayed until the 27th, the rest of ours should be shipping Monday. My only question is whether they're going to more or less give me de facto 2-day shipping to get it to my house by the 28th!

When was your estimated ship date on HP's website? When did you order?

I'm just trying to gauge how long it will take for mine to arrive. My estimated ship date is August 2nd, and I ordered with standard shipping.

Oh no, it's FedEx, so I'm sure it will require a signature.

Well, I guess I'll have to ensure I'm home when they are going to deliver. I always miss the FedEx delivery guys here. I don't want to miss it and have to wait another day, it would be excruciating.

    Indirect signature required

Basically leave a note with your name, signature, etc. and they'll leave it somewhere. What I do usually is leave my gate open and attach a post it with that on there and when I get home the package is sitting inside!

I believe (at least in my area) they will hold it at a nearby FedEx location, and you can pick it up that night (after 6PM here, I do believe).

Personally I've never done it, but a friend in the area has.

If I miss the delivery, I'll hopefully be able to pick it up that night.

If it's an emergency and if you don't want to have a neighbor pick it up, ask HP to have it rerouted to your nearest FedEx center. Even though you did ground shipping, HP CSR told me they'll(HP) still do it if you ask them.

I'm not sure. I suggest you call FedEx and ask if they can hold it for a week while you are gone. Do you have a trusted neighbor or friend that lives nearby? They could sign for you or have it delivered there, or something.

FedEx has always wanted a signature when they deliver. I almost prefer UPS in this regard, as my house is secluded and I'd rather my package sit tucked away on my porch rather that not come until the next day, then sit on my porch.

I see. I'm hoping mine will ship before the estimated ship date, as I know this has happened with some other users.

I ordered July 20th, and it is expected to ship August 2nd. Really hope it does ship before then. Pressing F5 all day is killing me.

Oh, well that might explain it. I'm guessing HP reps stopped processing orders after the usual work hours of 4-6pm. The system may not be completely automated.
