do you think the 500 off will be back in a few months though? I feel really jipped because i ordered my computer too late, the coupon had hit their limit and my computer is about to crash on me any time now...

    # 30% off HP Pavilion tx1000z Tablet Notebook using HP coupon GOTAPEX1 [Exp. Limited Time]

    # 30% off $999 HP Pavilion dv9700z Series Notebook Using Hp Coupon Code DEALS2BUY1 [Exp. Limited Time]

    # 25% off HP Pavilion dv9700t Series Notebook Using Hp Coupon Code DEALS2BUY2 [Exp. Limited Time]

Using the dv9700t one atm, and it seems to be working. It was actually about $90 cheaper than with my student discount.

If anyone is interested, I checked today and they're giving 25% discount on certain notebooks. I tried configuring a $1463 system and saved $366.

Edit: Opps it's just the dv2700t SE and dv6700t SE.

i just got my tx2000 and i am disappointed. this thing is LOUD and HOT!
i'm actually returning mine becuase the fan literally never turns off, and this thing produces heat like none other.

also, in tablet mode the screen isn't very readable when you hold the unit vertically. I think it has something to do with the glossy screen.

feature wise tho, it's awsome... but i'm not going to keep it cause it's just too hot for me to handle -- literally.

the tx2000z has the same amount of heat as the previous version. i dont know which processor you have but maybe you got the fastest processor for that model? is not that hot.

"this thing is LOUD and HOT!

Like you I almost jumped on the 500off, but I remembered that just the wk prior, I was at OD checking out the tx1400? and the thing was "warm" and NOISY, the fan seems to only have one speed: fast, and one mode: on.
Also, for current owners, just look at the intake fan vent and you'll see why your tx comes w/ a complimentary white noise.

Exactly for these reason I'm returning my HP dv2718us 14.1", the intake vent is even smaller. Check this out:

haha so i was *****ing awhile back about how i waspissed the 500 dollar coupon was expired and now that this coupon comes im actually saving more money on the laptop that i wanted to buy becuase hp slashed some prices. However this gets me wondering if i should just keep wiating cause im not DESPERATELY in need of a comp right now. btw does HP usually do big price cuts in the begining/end of each quarter?

I only had one fity in rebates so they took another tree fity to make it 5 hundo like the coupon was supposed to be and the epp discount was not a factor.

Coupons don't work with the Academic program or the corporate discount program. You only get one or the other, and the coupon is definitely the better deal.
