Nothing I'm doing precludes you from doing anything. Any class member who is unhappy with their treatment under the settlement is entirely free to hire their own attorney (and that includes my clients, who have the right to fire me). You might even find an easier time doing it now that there are briefs filed. I'm not going to complain about any other attorneys who get involved, so long as they're working in the interests of the class as a whole.

dear LORD they CANNOT offer that. there is not even a touch screen on that device! how is that ANYTHING like a tablet...?
if i had the finances myself, i would definitely take this back to court, and i encourage anyone else to do the same. media is starting to catch wind of this too. i just hope that nvidia realizes that the more stubborn they are on this matter, the more it is costing them in the long run.
NOT ONLY will going back to court cost them more in the short run, but since media is catching wind, more and more people are being alerted that they have a faulty computer that is included in this settlement. i have all ready seen 2 or 3 that only heard about this settlement via the commotion that is being raised. the more word gets out, the more people they will wind up paying. Nvidia is bringing this on themselves.
i wish i could hate them and swear off their products (much like i have to HP's products all ready), but they just make good video cards! i cant say no! x) It's just one big corporate game and many other companies do the same thing. -
I have a few laptops that are effected by this recall yet they are not on the list of of models ?_?
(I have a few DV6200s one that has WIFI issuses and the other wifi + screen issues and a third that wont POST)
(also have a dell M1330 that boots and runs for ~10 minutes (untill the GPU warms up) then gives a red white and blue screen, sometimes just all grey. both on the laptops screen and VIA HDMI port, yet music ETC still works :|
anyway to see about getting these on the list, too late? or have i been wasting my closet space the last 2 years waiting for this thing to finish? -
Your options are to either have some firm (hopefully NOT Milberg) launch another class action lawsuit covering all of the remaining models that are affected by this problem or you could try to sue HP/NVIDIA in a small claims court. Disclaimer: IANAL. -
Anyway... the lady said "let me look at the website" and read me the statement directly from there. Basically, they know nothing we don't. I told her that the EU37 doesn't exist and she said she'll "pass it along." -
CJean, it's sad that employee incompetence is so prevalent in society. We see that on an almost daily basis everywhere we turn, and calls centers are notorious for being a warehouse for incompetent employees. And, among the minority that are competent, there is the percentage that just does not care.
If the call center rep actually does pass on the information--and someone caring and competent gets it corrected on the web site--then your phone call will have been worth the effort. Thanks for checking it out for us. -
I would rather not put a spin such as this on it. There are many people out of work more than likely, this is a temporary outfit. ¨I think Millberg is doing a good thing. We give temporary untrained workers temp work(they are large law firm, I am sure this isn´t the only settlement they are working on, this is how they are milking us, and getting rich at it)¨. Pardon me, I am very upset. If this isn´t their outfit this is some other third party slave labor outfi. This is only one of many other settlements going on. This is one of the reasons we are in this economic recession, bad lending is only part of it (large for sure). It feels great to know someone like Ted Frank stepping in. I hope he´s entitled to some of Millbergs ¨service/administrative cost¨. Perhaps we should create another petition along those lines. This is very fradulent, I hope that the judge see´s this, aside from the quality (lack of value/unlike) replacement computers offered. My claims form is sitting here as well as the affected laptop, fingers crossed.

No spin, just fact. There are a lot of people willing to show up for work and draw a paycheck, but good help is hard to find regardless of the economic situation. And call centers are notorious for that. I know because I have worked in an industry for 25+ years where every company has a call center. Thankfully, I'm not working in a call center. It was like that before the economic crunch and has not improved. Those are not related subjects, but neither set of facts is good.
You're right about Mr. Frank. He's awesome. And, you should be upset. I think we are all disappointed about the approach the settlement administration has taken in the case of HP owners. They definitely gave us the short straw in this mess. -
Question, does this ruling only apply to US residents who purchased affected laptops in the US?
- if so, are there any similar actions in the rest of the world? (I'm in the UK..) or is it possible the judge in this case will apply the ruling to ALL affected laptop owners, no matter where they are?
OR does anyone have a solution - whereby I as a UK citizen who purchased an affected laptop can take up the 'offer' of a replacement laptop? It does seem unfair that nvidia accept they should replace laptops (mines a tx1000) but only for US citizens..
Sincerely appreciated!! -

Likewise, those whose computers are not part of this settlement should seek legal council. Small Claims has worked for some, maybe start another class action (But be warned how NVIDIA settles). -
-
This is from my claim form. Notice the bold words if it has ever, it is eligible. If its been repaired and working its eligible
"The computer I purchased in paragraph 2 has experienced one or more of the symptoms listed below (check the symptoms experienced):
a. Distorted or scrambled video on the notebook computer screen
b. No video on the computer screen even when the notebook computer is on
c. Random characters or garbled images on the notebook computer screen
d. Intermittent video failure
e. Failure to detect the wireless adapter or Failure to detect wireless network
f. None of the above
5. In the past (check one): I have I have not obtained a repair of the notebook computer described in paragraph 2 because it
has previously experienced one or more of these symptoms."
Iam not going to put a disclaimer but with Nvidia some words don't always translate well -

While were all waiting for the bomb to drop how about a short movie?
New G Series
G4 ($499) G6 ($449) G7 ($599) Starting Prices.
New Pavilion Dv6
Price TBD -

Guys, what are the odds they will deny a replacement? I mean, having a portable device since 2007 shows some normal wear and tear; My pc has some cracks because I drop it twice. Actually.... The touch screen panel cracked 1 year ago, I had it removed, worked fine w/o touch.
-
While I am waiting too....
I kinda like the dv6 in that color and it looks like a old style touch-pad compared to the integrated one. -
my defective dv2410 came with a vertical screen scroller on the right side of the touchpad. is the same feature available in new dv5 or dv6?

So 99% unless you did. -
Interesting that they use the "Framing" feature to make the keyboard look smaller. I would think any "Feature" around the keyboard would be to make it look bigger. -
Note that the starting price of the 14 is $50 more than the 15. Hmmm sound familiar Kevin?
I also find it interesting that the new G Series apparently is being labeled as a Pavilion. How to trash a moniker in 1 easy step! Yes I know, it was all BS anyway blah blah blah.
-
-
The G series doesn´t quite look as nice as the dv6/7 series. The dv6/7 series looks to be more along the lines of the Pavilion´s. Aside for this boondoggle many features. Nice machines.

I looked at all G's and DV's but I haven't seen anyone come up with a Tablet PC and a Netbook isn't a Tablet PC.

I have a DV9000 bought in Feb. 2007. I have not filed a claim yet getting ready to do that before the deadline. I called the hot-line to complain about the replacement and was told they couldn't comment on what computer I would be getting that I needed to go to the website and read it. Two days later I called the attorney's office and was told the reason I would be getting the Compact 15 inch was because my computer was old!! Are you kidding me?? I told the woman I bought a 17 inch with all of the bells and whistles and it was not right to be given a cheap laptop to replace my $1000 one. She basically told me tough, ask for my name which I would not give her. I just don't see how this is fair. I ask why they can't just fix my computer and she said they don't have the parts to do that. My question is should I go ahead file the claim but write on the claim I do not want to except the laptop they are offering? I don't know a lot about all the tech stuff with computers but know the replacement is no where near the one I bought. I had to send mine in to HP three times to have it fixed while it was under warranty and they never told me the problems I was having was from the NVIDIA chip. The last repair I sent it twice in a month for the fan being so loud and running constantly. It is so hot you will get burned if you lay it on your lap. I ask if they could replace it since I was having so many problems. I was told if I had to send it in three times in a year they would replace it with a new one. Wish I had done it one more time before the warranty ran out...I would have a new laptop without the NVIDIA chip and would not be dealing with this crap. I have told everyone I know about this issue so maybe more people will come forward and refuse to be taken advantage of like this. Thanks to everyone here for all of the help.

Im really not too familiar with the older TX tablets, so just what is it that would be unacceptable compared to the new TM2t. Low horse power? -

Seriously though, is it only the lack of an internal optical drive? They offer an external. -
