Won't be too much different, as idle power consumption is nearly the same. Expect a tiny bit less, perhaps half an hour difference when you're stretching your battery to the maximum. At max load, the difference may be more significant.

Really, though, the biggest drawback of the i7 CPU option is the price--why pay for something you don't need?

Just an update: Lenovo PR tells me that the X220 will be available on Lenovo's website April 19th. A bit of a wait, alas.

does the 9 cell battery protrude out of the back of the X220, and if so by how much? I am looking at what kind of sleeve to buy it, any reccomendations? I don't want something bulky like the Tom Bihn brain cell, but rather maybe the Tom Bihn Cache?

    To buy, or to pre-order?

She said "for sale", so I assume that means to buy. She didn't say pre-order.

So an i7 will add how much to the price? I bought my last computer 7 years ago. I think I could spend a little more if this model lasts as long.

I posted that somewhere earlier in this thread. If I recall correctly, you can order it April 19.

I saw that and assumed that was the release date. So there is no way to pre-order the laptop before its officially released? Thanks.

IPS panel onboard the x220 is an LG one (LP125WH2-SLB1)it renders an extraordinary image and color quality. It is a hit that Lenovo scores in hte industry with the introduction of flexview technology in his ultraportable series.
