Actually it does seam to have an eraser. But it works with a button click and not with the red end of the pen. I believe this is a well thought out change from earlier, and in my opinion it makes sense. But off course it is a matter of taste, I guess. So, instead of having to turn the pen every time, now you just have to hold the button to erase. It seams easier.

But it is correct that it first has to be set in the Wacom settings. You can find a description of the proces and how it works (be sure to also read the post about how to use the eraser in this link) here:
    https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/S-Seri...ThinkPad-Yoga-Digitizer-Question/td-p/1338815

    Hope it helps.

Mine is going back. Getting on average 6-7 hours of batterylife with brightness on 50% and light surfing, word etc and i also tweaked everything as batteryfriendly as i could (disabling indexing while on battery and using the great suspender in chrome etc). Not enough for a computer i paid 1600 usd (14000 SEK) for. I had the gen1 and thought the gen2 would improve batterylife a little more.. sigh =( I really wanna like the TpY but with this subpar battery performance (why lenovo, why?!) i just have to look elsewhere (or buy a used TpY on ebay and travell for the saved money :D

Lenovo should really increase the screen size to 13.3" with same outer dimensions or decrease the outer dimensions and keep the 12.5", because as the current gen1 and 2 look and feel with their enourmous bezel it's just ridiculous.

I will probably go for the HP Spectre X360 and slam on a matte screen protector and buy the Dell Active Pen. Just waiting for a good deal on ebay

Got a 2014 TPY 14 Scratch-n-Dent from the Lenovo Outlet delivered yesterday day for $549 plus shipping. The machine looks brand new, I can't find any cosmetic issues anywhere. I'm coming from a R61i running XP from 2007 lol. The TPY 14 is nice however the Trackpad sucks, and I must say I prefer the old style keyboards to the new island keyboards. I couldn't wait until the 2015 models came out and saw this one for $549 and it was too good to pass up. I will keep searching the outlet for a T450s with touchscreen or X1 Carbon Touch Gen 3 but in the meantime the TPY 14 will suffice. I think ultimately I will get rid of it for one of the 2015 models with the updated Trackpad with buttons and an SSD.

I noticed some significant light leakage at the bottom of the screen. Not really a bother, though. Also, my keyboard backlight won't stay on after resuming from sleep.

Quick question, I been offered a s1 yoga i5 for £375.However, its out of warranty?. Is it still worth it?.

Also is it prone to dust and collecting dirt if you go in tablet mode and rest the keyboard on a flat surface?.

    Is it noisy as well?

Finally can I upgrade the ram?.

Does anybody have an idea if the Yoga 13 OEM keyboard would work with the Yoga 2?

I've tried googling around a bit and can't quite get a solid answer. Spilt some coke on my keyboard, and the computer itself and touchscreen still works fine but the keyboard is non responsive except for a few keys. Was thinking maybe I could get this keyboard to replace it?

A great machine - just love mine!
Don't find it prone to dust at all in any position.
    Virtually silent.
If it is near mint condition, I'd go with it - after putting through its paces. If it looks like it's had a hard life, I'd pass. You can find these for only a little more on eBay (I paid $419 for a nearly new one three months ago.)

I'd reinstall trackpad drivers. If it recurs, try installing drivers from Synaptics site. Good luck. Isn't it a great machine? I got the Signature as well.

    TPY 14 owners:

Is it worth considering one at $899? I'm aware of the sw2 issue and if that's the worst of any quality issues they've got, I can live with it I think. Not too afraid to solder even though you shouldn't have to. It's this or the spectre x360 for $100 more. Like the idea of the extra ssd slot but I also like the idea of the pen input on the hp. Would you buy TPY 14 if you had it to do over?

The TP Yoga 14 that was previously on sale did not have an active digitizer. The Yoga 15 is starting to ship, but, AFAICT, no one has the model with the Wacom Active Digitizer. The new 14's are not available yet either. So, if you want a Yoga with a digitizer, the 12.5" is your only choice currently. The 15 should be available soon. Maybe Lenovo is waiting for W10 to start shipping its new model line up.

Yeah, the pen is the only feature of the HP that intrigues me over the TYP 14. That and the better battery life. I know the TPY 14 doesn't have pen input (if it did, I'd have bought it already!). But with the TPY 14 at $899, it still offers quite a bit. I'm just curious if current owners would buy it again at $899 or if the ownership experience hasn't panned out for them and they would warn me to stay away.

Fwiw, if you can live with 12.5" the TPY 12 is really a dream, weighs a pound less than the TPY14 and you csn buy it for around $600 open box/refurbed still under warranty from Blinq.com, a very reputable dealer in closeout gear with 30 day unconditional full refund policy - they even pay return shipping.

Unless you already know that 12.5" won't cut it for you (keep in mind, the hp is only 13.3"), I heartily recommend you buy and try it out - not as pretty as the HP and screen color gamut much wider on the HP (but its glossy and the TPY is basically matte, much brighter and Wacom EMR will wipe the floor of the HP/Synaptics pen/digitizer. I have two other wonderful, lighter laptops (see sig) but I find I'm always reaching for my TPY.

I had the TPY 12 for about a week, and it was great. My only complaints would be the lack of HDMI port and that it was slightly large. The trackpoint was great and so was the keyboard. Unfortunately, whenever I flipped it to the side, there was an annoying clicking sound so I sent it to Lenovo. They said they had to replace the keyboard and that it would take a month for them to get the part. I have no idea why a warranty depot would not have the proper part for a current gen laptop. So I told them to just send it back and I'll return it for a refund. I have an E7250 with better specs and much cheaper, but I do miss the thing. I'll probably buy one when I go back to school.

Boy, does that sound frustrating! If you want to take a shot at getting a well configured TPY (1st gen, but almost identical to 2nd gen) for 1/2 the price or less, you can get a great deal on a refurbished one from a closeout reseller called Blinq.com for $612. They give you 30 days for a full refund, including return shipping. They have an excellent rep - I have purchased some 10 products from them (no ties or commissions tho :D) and, when I have had a problem, they either cheerfully refunded, replaced or, best of all, take $150-$250 off the price if you keep it, and often it was a minor and easily repaired issue. Also, most of what they sell is still under Lenovo warranty, enabling you to buy up to 3-5 yr NBD onsite service, one of the main appeals of buying a Thinkpad. There are several others on this thread who have purchased a TPY from them and, to my knowledge, nothing but smiles. :)

Ok serious question on removing the matte screen. Can someone please upload pictures of the process in action that way i know that this is legit. The only posts on this forum about said topic have written about removing it and the ease of such, yet they don't upload any pictures or videos as proof which might led some to follow with dangerous results. I'm not calling anyone a lair, but if you talk about how difficult it was to remove it and the overall improvement after the process... shouldn't you post a few pics to show the results. So as asked before, if anyone who is going to, or in the process of removing the matte screen over the LCD please upload a video or picture of the process and what you do to remove it, i would be very thankful. because if i know that it can actually be removed then i would do it in a heartbeat. So thanks in advance.
P.S. - Please do not read this post as rude... im just perturbed that people dont offer up the results that they boast about in the forum to others.

My TPY S1 won't boot up. I only get a fan noise like a jet is about to fly and then the keyboard lights up for a few seconds. Then nothing happens. No image on the screen not even the boot up screen. There is no sound or beeps also.

Any ideas what it could be. I have my fingers crossed as it maybe something expensive to repair.

Thank you in advance for the help.

Is the ghosting problem still an issue with this laptop? A few days ago I noticed it for the first time on my dad's TP Yoga, and it was pretty visible.

I had the ghosting issue on my TPY bought in 2013. Reported it to the online store I bought it from. They contacted Lenovo and the laptop was picked up just a couple of days later by a UPS. About a week later it was done, have not had a single problem since then. Base on the things I read online about the screen I was worried that they would not be able to fix it, but have not seen any ghosting on it after the screen was replaced.

Also just want to mention that the service from Lenovo was the best I have had with any defect electronics I have ever owned. ;)

Im using windows 10 on my i7 4600u one and installed it on my GF's i5 4200U one for weeks now. Even with the insider one.
Everything works fine. The wifi sometimes keep disconnecting but can always reconnect manually, but its not happening for a while now.
Maybe they fixed it in an update.

Also i got my GF's machine screen and motherboard replaced and the ghosting went away. I will see if it comes back.
Also the new motherboard had a pro win8.1 key installed instead of the normal, so im really happy. She dosnt care about it of course :)

I recently upgraded my Thinkpad Yoga S1 (from last year, not the new ones, if that matter) to Windows 10, and I chose a clean install to get rid of old gunk, and overall everyithing works just fine. Even got Power Manager to work just fine etc, but auto rotate is not working in any mode. And neither is the "rotate-lock" button. Nothing happends when I press it.

And when I check Device Manager I see that HID Sensor Collection V2 is not loaded and has a warning sign on the icon.

When I click and check the device status it says:
This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I looked around a lot for a sollution, included new drivers for this device, but I cant find anything usefull.

Hoping I'm just missing something and that it's an easy fix, like most other WIndows 10 issues have been.

Except sticky corners! I HATE sticky corners, but that is a different issue on a different computer.

I've actually managed to solve it.

    I installed these drivers:
    http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/pro...ries-laptops/thinkpad-yoga/downloads/DS039490

The problem is installing them, since they will not install without minor modification. So download and run, then it will unpack the files to a new directory.

    C:\DRIVERS\WIN\Sensor

Go to that directory, right click "Setup.exe" and chose "Properties", then go to the "Compatibility" tab and check "Run this program in compatibility mode" and select "WIndows 7" in the dropdown. Reboot and everything works fine. Screen rotation works, rotation lock button works, and touchpad gets disabled in "tablet" modes.

I am looking for a replacement pen for my Thinkpad Yoga S1 (2014). The "built in" works just fine, but it's a bit small, so I would prefer something bigger, but I have no idea what pens that are compatible.

I tried a Wacom Intuos Pro Medium pen, and it didn't react at all, so guessing it wasn't a easy as I had hoped, but I can't find any list of compatible pens.

Lenovo have released on called "Thinkpad Pen Pro", but no idea if this would be a suitable alternative. Or if there are Wacom ones that works with this aswell?

The best stylus I ever had for my ThinkPad Yoga 12 S1 was this

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0079...ook+stylus&dpPl=1&dpID=21JOYvMUbUL&ref=plSrch

Liked it so much I bought 2 so I'd never have to be without it. Kept one at home and one at work so I didn't have to worry about carrying it back and forth.

I received my Thinkpad Yoga with digitizer pen but I'm afraid I've broken the pen.

You can screw off one side to put in a battery. But you can also screw off the tip of the pen. After doing the latter a pin/tip of the pen fell out. I placed the pin back on the metalic part of the pen that is pressure sensitive, and screw the top back on.

However, now pressure sensitivity is gone. I used to be able to press down the tip of the pen a little bit. This is now no longer possible. I've tried screwing off and on the tip several times, but it has made no difference: the pin/tip of the pen can no longer be flexibly pressed down.

What to do? Have I broken the pen (on the second day I own the laptop)?

I just got an S1 refurb. Seems pretty nice so far. Paid $499, i5. 256gb ssd, fhd, stylus and digitizer, win 10 professional. 90 day warranty. I'm essentially a Mac guy, but win10 seems easy to get.
