Business presence is more than retail storefronts. A tech support team (for example, personnel for handling on-site warranty services), a warehouse, a sales office, a R&D group, etc., all count as "business presence". I would guess that Lenovo has business presence in all 50 states of the US.

So, I am pretty sure everyone who orders from Lenovo pays sales tax. Well, except for those who lives in a state that does not charge sales tax (such as OR).

You can. But I don't think "getting it elsewhere without sales tax" will be cheaper.

Majority of computer vendor charge for sale taxes, this includes Dell, Hp and Gateway.

Interesting, thanks for the link. If you look closely it also appears that it will support dual channel memory.. Which means if you pair them up it may be possible to enable dual channel.. not sure.. likely a bios setting..

    8GB max / PC3-10600 1333MHz DDR3, non-parity,
    dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets
    * System automatically clocks down for processors with 1066MHz DDR3 memory controller

Mine was slated for shipping on the 14th but it shipped on the 4th instead. Looks like it is coming out of China so I have no idea how long it will take. They sent 3 packages all one day apart.. power supply (I ordered a spare) and a keyboard (the cool wireless media one) were shipped on the 2nd and 3rd.. UPS is gonna be here alot next week..

Anyone get the GOBI 2000 WWAN card? I was considering it for the GPS capabilities.. Not sure I would use the WWAN part of it since cellular data fees are nuts in Canada.

Yeah, I apologize.. I'm running on 0 sleep today & realized just recently, while I purchase TONS of stuff online, this is actually the first time I've bought a laptop directly from a big-name system vendor, in God knows how long. Over the years I've found that it's typically cheaper to wait a short while until other vendors are selling said systems, as you can usually get them cheaper & without the aforementioned sales tax etc. Toting the 9.5lb Gateway around is wearing me out though/I've been in somewhat of a hurry to get my first "ultraportable"! The real annoyance in my purchase, was that after all the reading & goofing around I did to ensure I'd get a decent price, the site somehow malfunctioned and didn't compute my SPP discount into things, heh.

I did, though upon inquiry, Lenovo informed me that the GPS isn't functional without a paid subscription..
Also, thanks to whomever noted it's UPS & signature required. It'd be nice if Lenovo informed you of such. (maybe they will shortly, I dunno) Hopefully I'll be around when mine arrives, though with my luck I'll be on said trip.

Must be a typo. All the reviews I read says Zacate (the AMD Fusion APU family that is used in x120e) supports only single-channel memory. It is a platform limitation.

Likewise, it is unlikley that memory runs any faster than ddr3-1066, regardless of the module type used.

Looking to order an X120e today. For memory, I'm not upgrading from the 2gb from Lenovo and plan to order a 2 or 4gb stick after. I don't care about resale or reuse of the memory. Can I get the lower speed one since that's all the laptop can support? Any specific recommendations? If it doesn't really save me money then I might stick with matching speed. What I see is it's about $20 for 2gb and $40 for 4gb for the higher speed. Any noticeable improvements for daily use?

    Thanks.

1066 will work fine. FSB is set to 1066.
