Im upset they arent putting numpads on the 15.6+ laptops. For something that size a full featured/sized keyboard is a must.

Absoutely. Even Panasonic has gone to 16:9 for their business toughbooks. And they would have been the one you would expect to hold out. So they will all fall.

    I agree.
The next question is will it stop there? Has anyone ever heard of anything even wider?

I don't think so, since 16:9 is here to stay for a long time, because it's the new standard for HD content.

    Why would they go wider?

This is driven by consumer level demand for cheap "HD" ready displays with which they can play dvd's on and think it is magically better.

They dont "demand" HD, they are sold the HD as better and they buy it

Yeah and what'll happen once they have sold everybody a set of HD TV, netbook, notebook, PC, smartphone,..? They'll invent something new, maybe "SuperHD" or "eHD-X" (I should get those registered as trademarks).
And I think it'll be wider yet again; there is lots of content wider than 16:9.

The revolution will be 3D panels in all electronic devices, and you won't need to use glasses, the manufacturers will provide you kits of eye contact lenses, and later, in the future, they'll modify our DNA for us to carry 3D capabilities since the day we're born.

LMAO. :D I like where the future is heading... seems like we won't need to do anything, just get our DNA modified so that things get done automatically by computers.
