My order (processed through Amazon) was also cancelled today for unspecified credit card issues. Tried calling Lenovo but their phone support is closed today. My order details page has the price zeroed out and the estimated ship date is gone. The credit card was initially charged, but the charge never posted. Very frustrating.
-
-
Yes, it is backwards compatible.
-
The price for that capacity and speed looks pretty good, let us know if it works out for you
-
Looks like my order was scrapped due to credit card security issues. I placed it again, but it looks like my build and ship date are pushed back. Argh.

I'm thinking about buying an UltraBay Battery for my T430s. Might something like this fit the bill?
Ultrabay 42 Genuine Battery Lenovo Thinkpad T400s T410si T420s R400 T500 57Y4536 | eBay
I'm trying to avoid non-OEM batteries, does this sound legit? -
Oh no, does that means you missed out on the Office deal too?
-
Try contacting sales and/ or support for the appropriate part number. Hard to say if anything has changed between models.
They re-issued my order over the phone at the same price and supposedly with the exact same specs, so we'll see. I think I'm in the clear... -
Understanding is that the batteries are different for the _30 series ... Not sure if that includes ultrabay --- but word on the street is that the _30 series is looking for an authentication chip on the battery, and that it will not charge the old ones.
-
This will not work for the T430s.
From Tabook: The part # for T430s Ultrabay battery is 0A36310, where as this one is 57Y4536 (which is listed for T420s and others). -
Thanks! I was thinking about buying one with my T430s, but discovered that it was a touch more expensive, due to tax. I've found some third party retailers selling this battery, will buy from them instead.
-
My order originally had an estimated ship date of June 13, but it now shows up as shipped on the 11th. It went straight from "Released to manufacturing" to "Shipped." No tracking number yet, though.
-
Mine had original ship date of 6/11, but now it is 6/14, with status as Released to Manufacturing.
-
Mine says it ships today...Can't wait..excited..Just got my memory and mSATA SSD from new egg in the mail...
-
Can anyone kindly comment on the speaker/audio quality of the T430s?
-
Why is it not possible to have the nvidia chip with the i-7 (thunderbolt purposes) cpu?

My machine was supposed to ship today, but it's still "in production". Damn it.
-
Mine was suppose to ship today too, but it's been sitting at "released to manufacturer" for the past week.
-
Just got off chatting with a Lenovo representative. He claims that the dates are not exact, and that shipping times are specific to a particular week, not a particular day. So, my T430s should ship this week.
-
Heat issues, probably? Unless you really need TB, an i5 would suffice.
-
I'd like to have TB for future egpu purposes. The nvidia chip on the i5 models will be pretty useless next year for gaming.
-
they should have a video card adapter for the ultra bay
-
Sorry of this has been asked/mentioned before (tried using the 'search forum' tool on here and it's acting goofy) but has this been confirmed? There's no mention of the Thunderbolt port on any of the current T430/s spec pages on Lenovo.com.
-
It's listed in the detailed specs in the tabook: http://www.lenovo.com/psref/pdf/tabook.pdf
It is only for the T430s.
"Mini DisplayPort (Mini DP / Thunderbolt combo port on i7 integrated model, switch via BIOS)" -
Yeah, it's been confirmed many times.
-
Quick question, should I go with i5-3320M or i7-3520M? Prices are about $130 difference for me.
-
Go with the i5 unless you really need Thunderbolt.
My Ultrabay battery just shipped and will be here in two days, so I'll be getting an accessory before I get the computer to put it into!
Come on, Lenovo... It's been six days since I've placed my order. -

Can't you still do an expresscard eGPU setup like with the T420? -
Performance would be better on tb. But again, I can use the $190 to get a better card and utilize 50% of it instead of 100% of a crappy card.
-
Can anyone comment as to how good the screen is on the T430? I'm coming from a 1440x900 Dell XPS m1530.
-
god damn it all, my shipping date got pushed back to the 19th. I ordered this either the day the website went up or the day after (I forget what date that was). that means it won't ship until around the 26th, and I'm gone from the 22nd to July 6th. blegh, I want my Thinkpad. Now.
-
I ordered my T430s on June 5th and received a shipment confirmation on June 12th; scheduled for delivery on June 15th. I've got my Samsung 830 Series SSD and 16GB of Corsair memory ready to install!
I'm coming from a T410s and really curious to see the difference in screen quality... if it's anything like what I've heard of the T420s then I might be in for a bit of a disappointment... -
The Samsung 830 Series SSD with 128GB is on sale today for $89.99 at Newegg: Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC128B/WW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
It's 7mm and should fit the T430s perfectly. -
Very nice. I ordered it, I'm not sure if I will use it, but to good of a deal to pass up!!!
-
The 410s 1440x900 screen is actually pretty good. Somehow, the quality goes down with the T420/T420s 1600x900 screens: both brightness and contrast suffer, and certain users have reported "screen door" (visible grid) effect. I suspect Lenovo uses the same screens in the T430/T430s. Sorry!
-
Hmm. My ship date is still June 12th, but that was yesterday. I hate this waiting game.
-
Mine too. Still says "Released to Manufacturing"...
-
Deal must be over, it's showing as $129.99 now? ...
-
UPS reports my T430s has a scheduled delivery date of 6/15 (Friday). Lenovo estimates delivery on the 18th (Monday).
Here's hoping there are no delays with customs! -
When did you buy your machine?
-
6:00AM on the 6th.
-
Would that drive be for the ultrabay? If so then you also have to have the adapter for it correct?
-
If you put it in the Ultrabay, you'd need the adapter. It will also fit in the standard HDD bay, so you could replace the platter disc if you choose.
-
I bought mine on the afternoon of that day.
-
anyone who gets one with a nvs5400m//5200m PLEASE run 3dmark and post your scores!(with specs) im DYING to know them!
Would truly appreciate it! (= -
Wow...deal is over...I ordered mine this morning and there was a coupon code you could use for $40 off...I must have just got it on time...
-
I should have had this question in my previous post as well, but...
Would that mean you could then place the standard HDD in an adapter and put that in the ultrabay? -
I don't think the the website shows the discounted price until you enter the coupon code in your shopping cart.
-
Just received my Ultrabay battery in the mail. A day early.
I'm ready to put this machine together, but the machine has not arrived yet! -
Right. Like this:
That enclosure is called UltraBay HDD caddy adapter. Check out this one.
