I know it's late, but I've run into this issue multiple times. As you've done, I take off the bottom, unplug the battery then it boots up fine after that.

Does anyone know how to get the old ultranav drivers? I can't believe how bad Lenovo is with drivers sometimes.

On my Windows 7 64bit it doesn't remember the wheel scroll number. I'm using the generic synaptics driver, which fixes that, but I lose the middle button. I'm thinking of going back to older drivers and see if there's one that simply just works.

*Edit* The lenovo china site lets you download all older versions of drivers.

How's your battery life on the touch screen version?
I have the top of the line model with Core i7, 12Gb RAM, 512Gb Crucial SSD, touch screen and the small 3cell + 3cell battery and I get 3 to 5 hours of work on a charge, depending on use.
I regret getting the touch screen, as I barely use it.
