It is currently being delivered "express" from Hong Kong, but apparently the flight it is on is "experiencing delays" lol oh wellz...I'm just happy that it shipped so quickly!

No WXGA + screen probably allows fast shipping. WXGA has a 1366×768 or 1280x800 resolution while the WXGA + has a higher resolution 1680x1050

 

WXGA = 1280x800
WXGA+ = 1440x900

But, it's only the WXGA+ on the 14.1" 16:10 screens that are being delayed.

15.4" screens are widely available, I believe.

 

This is good news...Hoping for a quick ship.
There any other delayed parts that anyone knows of (aside from the UWB stuff)?

It appears as if my T61 with the 14.1" WSXGA+ shipped today! Not sure if anyone else has had any luck with their orders that that screen - but as of now they must have these screens in stock because it only took 3 days to build!

 

I'm assuming you meant WXGA+, not WSXGA

 

Sorry about that - you're right amitface! I meant the 14.1 WXGA+.

 

I ordered my TP61P on 9/04/07 and Lenovo gave me a first date of 9/21/07. Now they pushed it to 10/10/07. I spoke to the rep who helped me and she said there is a shortage of 15.4 WSXGA+ TFT screens. I'm not too happy about this long delay because I'm changing careers and I need the laptop. According to all the reviews I read this laptop is supposed to be the top of the line. I hope that my laptop ships before 10/10/07 if it's pushed I think I will blow my top. Good luck everyone with your orders.

 

Crap, I placed an order for a T61 with 15.4" WSXGA+ TFT screen on 9/19/07 and they said the ship date would be 10/8/07 but now I am thinking they will probably push my date back, if there is really a shortage of those screens.

That sucks, we'll see what happens. If they push back my order I am going to cancel it.

Anyone order one with a 15.4" WSXGA+ this month and have it ship already?

 

Well, check out this thread. People have been ordering and shipping has been taking 2-5 days after the order is placed. My computer, for some reason, doesn't want to ship . But check out this thread for a better idea. This is the first I heard that there is a shortage on the WSXGA+ displays.

I actually bought a $350 Acer laptop last night from Walmart to get me through my schoolwork, I couldn't wait for my Thinkpad.

When I do get my Thinkpad I'm sure it will be a lot more fun to use, I'm typing this message on the Acer right now and the keyboard isn't very good. Meanwhile this Acer lets me get my urgent school work done. I have a friend who is pretty poor and also needs a laptop, he would like to buy the acer from me when I finally get my Thinkpad.

It's an Acer 3680 with only 512 megs of RAM, a Celeron M CPU, and a 5400 RPM 80 gig hard drive. It has Vista Home Basic. Surprisingly, it doesn't seem noticeably slow for my school work, it works fine. The biggest problems are short battery life (2 hours or less) and a very cheap keyboard that is hard to type fast on.

 

I just order my T61 14.1 Widescreen on 10/7/2007 with an ESD of 10/25/2007. Here are the specs:

I am a little upset because I wasn't expecting a ship date of 10/25. On top of that, I ordered the T7700 CPU (2.4ghz) and now the T7800 CPU (2.6ghz) is available. I am hopeful there will be now delays and it will ship fast.

Your ESD does not mean that that is the day it will ship. It is merely an estimate. I ordered my thinkpad on 9/12, ESD of 9/30, shipped on 9/14, so as you see ESD is not something they stick by 100%.

 

I ordered mine on 9/21...ESD said 10/10...and now it has been moved to 10/29...another victim of lenovo's shipping delays...hope it gets shipped before tht

 

i ordered mine as well on 9/21 with ship date 10/10 which now has beeen moved to 10/29, i sent an email to lenovo as they didnt even bother to tell me the reason for the delay, no replies yet and hardly expect one

I ordered mine 10/8 with an expected ship date of 10/25. I checked status online 10/27, naively looking for a tracking number. Hmmm, this doesn't look like a tracking number.......it looks like 1/8/08. What the? I called yesterday. They said it was a computer error. It should ship this week.....they said. (I'm clicking my red shoes together - I do believe, I do believe.) OK, eyes open. Hmmmm what do I do now? I guess I'll pester them every day. This is my first laptop - very disappointed.

 

I ordered mine on 10/29 and the ESD shows 11/29 And the status shows still processing. CC still pending

 

I received my CTO T61 on 10/25.

I ordered my T61p on Oct 31st, it shipped on the 2nd of Nov and has an estimated delivery date of the 8th.
