no, i rechecked my shipping date on 10/15 and it was the same

 

THE SHIPMENT IS BEING HELD BY BROKERAGE FOR REASONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL.

They are teasing me by holding my computer in Kentucky... but it still has your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 10/26/2007.

 

I got an email confirming the T61 has shipped.
Pretty good: ordered 16/10 shipped 24/10, no complains at all.
But given all lenovo’s problems with delays, it was funny to read the following in that email:

All or part of your order has shipped. In some instances your order may be shipped from more than one location, which will result in multiple notification.

Well, hope I will not get the T61 through small little packages.

 

Guys: How was your computer configured? I also ordered on the 16th and am very interested to see how things turn out.

 

So I thought I would post my conversations with Sales here:

purchased on 9/21, original ship date of 9/29, then 10/12, then 10/21, now 10/29.

Talked with a sales shift manager: says that the chip (t7500) was backordered. Then it was the dvd drive, now it is the 9 cell battery.

Finally I got a regional sales person today who said that he would have an answer by tomorrow the system would actually ship. He has said the order has critical priority in the warehouse (whatever that means). Told him if it doesn't ship by end of week I am canceling it. He said that if I kept with the order, he would knock off 15% and and extra $80 to cover the taxes.

Will see what tomorrow brings. I must say though this is insane to get this system.

I called lenova and they told me that it will ship the second week of November 2007. There is no backorder of any components on my order.
I have ordered through ibm employee program.

Can anybody tell me when does lenova tells us that the shipping is delayed?
Right now when i call them - they say that it is on schedule and none of the items are on backorder.

Initially my card showed the authorization of laptop price but today it is not even showing this authorization - any comments - please let me know.

Well, an update. Got the email from customer relations. A new supposed ship date of 10/30. A 15% discount, $80 off to make up for taxes, and upgrade to air shipping. Was told that it was the dvd drive (8x dual layer burner) that is holding it up.

Let's see if this date holds.

 

Finally! My order on Aug 7 with WUXGA has shipped on 10/25. After 3+ months waiting, I will get my lappy next week. For those of you who ordered WUXGA, just hang in there, you will get yours soon!

 

is this normal? Placed my order on 10/4, original shipping date was 10/23, pushed back first to 10/26 and NOW to 11/23. When I called yesterday, they said it will ship out this week and today, they said a month from now.
I mean, I know it's an estimate date, but being delayed by a month it's not really estimating.
Should I talk to a manager? Can they speed up the process? I am ready to cancel at this point.

 

Yes you should talk to a manager in sales or even customer relations and find out why it is being delayed. My thought is this.....any order being delayed past 11/1 is stupid. That pushes it into the holiday shopping season and just is asking for more delays. Keep pushing nicely for answers and don't take no for an answer. If all else fails, cancel your order and go with someone else.

 

yeah, that's what I thought also. What bugged me was that they did not even bother to offer a small discount or at least to upgrade my shipping method. I'll try to call again and ask for a manager, or maybe I can find an email address somewhere

Today Morning i checked and the order has been shipped and it had tracking information. The order is shipped from Honkong. Delivery date 10/29/07

Well, I called Lenovo based on postings around the forum to see if my T61p was still set for 11/15 and if it was, try and get some additional compensation for pain and anguish or possibly even cancel the order. I called and was extremely shocked to get an extremely pleasant non-accented gentleman who asked how I was doing and how was the weather. This was NOT the same Lenovo I had called before!! We chit chatted for a minute or so and I asked him if he could check the status of my order to see if it was still or schedule or if there were any backorder issues. He said the laptop was complete and would ship tomorrow (10/26). I fell out of my chair!! I was stunned. Truthfully, as nice as the guy was, I really did not believe it. So, last night late, I checked the order status web page and doggone it, he was telling the truth!! The web site shopped the unit had shipped. Don't know from where yet or when it will arrive, but I'm just happy it is out of production in at least in the shipping channels!! I was so ecstatic when he said my laptop shipped that I totally forgot to query him on why it shipped so early compared to the latest ESD revision. But, my previous calls were consistent responses that the screen was the hold up and that was it.

Now, I just have to get the thing and start playing, installing, etc.!! Hopefully the T61p is worth the wait!

Anybody still waiting for their laptop good luck and hang in there!!!

 

My ssd is today. Ordar says still in process. Is it time to call or should i give it a day? I placed my order on 10/8.

 

I ordered this morning and was told Jan 2008 as ESD. I am counting on Lenovo being conservative and delivering it before Christmas!

I ordered on 10/12 and have an ESD 10/31, I hope to get it a little bit sooner.

 

Well, I should say that after 10 phones and many email, it has actually shipped.

The manager within customer relations has kept his word and has given me a 15% off the top (over $200 off) plus an extra $80 for taxes, and expedited air shipping. I should have it on Tuesday.

So a lesson is learned here: Don't just sit back and watch your order keep getting delayed, call the sales center and don't take no for an answer. Always ask for a supervisor or manager. Be firm but be nice. Don't be afraid to cancel if all else fails.

My 2nd T61 14.1 SXGA+, T7300, DVDRW, 6 cell

 

I ordered a T61 Oct 8. Estimated ship date was 10/25. Now moved up to 1/08. I'm cancelling my order out of frustration.

 

Stringbeans85, I hope my T61 shipped today. I'll find out tomorrow. As of yesterday, calls to Lenovo order status revealed that it was still going to ship today, despite the online ESD reading in 2008.

 

Good luck. Watch it get bumped to January like mine.

 

Mine got bumped to January. If you call Lenovo, they'll have a different answer from the *internal* system. Do NOT trust the online date. Its practically generated randomly.

 

I'm hope Lenovo keeps their word and ship your T61 Techfury90! I actually cancelled my order from Oct 3rd which they did immediately. I then placed a new order for the same specs on Oct 24th since the price dropped via using SPP..and it shipped on the 26th!

 

Non p model but a T61. Like you I configed (Monday) and ordered then cancelled (Tuesday) due to changing my mind about a component. I then ordered on Friday 10/26 selecting components which are expected to cause delays. The ESD was 1/8. All of a sudden the order status says I have been invoiced and my T61 shipped on 10/28!!!!!. Strange. BTW mine is CTO including the 7 cell battery for a 14" wide screen.

The wait since 9/24 is over. My t61p shipped today 10/28 (Sunday) two days ahead of my self-imposed deadline for Lenovo. They really pushed the limits on my patience this time, but hopefully the wait will be worth it. Can't wait!

my order from 10/08 was supposed to ship on 10/25. The status was updated on 10/26 and now my ESD is 11/27!!! This seems a little ridiculous to me. It's bad enough that all we're told is "in process." I did not want to get another Dell but I'm going to take another look. Seeing some ppl post about delivery dates in January 2008 has me worried.

well, mine has been pushed back again. Ordered 10/4, original shipping date 10/23, then 10/26, now 11/23 but they say it might ship next week, it might. I tried to get in touch with a sales manager, no luck. They said they have to put in a request and someone will call me. 5 days later, no call, tried again, still nothing. I'm very patient usually, but this is too much. I was hoping that would at least offer a discount or something but no way.
Is there another way to get in touch with a manager there? Does anyone have an email address for one?
