Nope just seeing if the main items work, network cards, graphics, trackpoint, usb, etc. Im not really worried about fingerprint and bluetooth.

I ordered the following specs today at $1044 + tax($65).
I already ordered w520 through a rep who gave me a pretty good deal, but I couldn't get that person again so I used another rep for this x220. I'm not sure it is reasonable enough? Roughly $820 without 3yr onsite+protection.

I was looking through my quote confirmation email and I just noticed at the bottom it said:
This quotation supersedes any previous written or verbal quotations from Lenovo and is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of this letter. Acceptance of this quotation is subject to Lenovo's standard payment terms and availability of the product. Promotional items may be included in the quotation but are valid for seven (7) days from the date of this letter. Ecoupons are not valid past their expiration date. Please note that all promotions have a quantity limit of 5 per customer. All sales are subject to Lenovo's terms and conditions of sales included with the products.
Does this mean that after 5/4, I lose that 10% discount from my x220 quote? -

How many total monitors (external and laptop screen included) are supported by the Intel 3000 in this setup? I think I read somewhere 2.. or 3.. (which is a big difference haha) Can somebody clarify?
(You know a homework assignment has gotten ridiculous when 2 monitors isn't enough to contain all of it :S) -
I'm in "in process" hell as well since the 24th. yea me. ---- bangs head on wall.

How'd you order on 4/6?? I ordered on 4/21 and have an estimated ship of 5/17 and it hasn't changed since. :S
-
Don't worry, since lenovo has begun shipping out the tablets, more will be on the road. -
-
Did they offer to switch you to a 6 cell? -
-
Skeee-roo that!
I demand remuneration!
Seriously, that is not cool. -
Man I've been checking almost everyday now for the past 2 weeks and the prices seem to fluctuate a lot doing that time. I wanna order the tablet but want to get the best price possible. Right now the 2 configs I am looking at are close to 2k but now there is no coupon so I'm wary again to purchase! Should i just go for it or wait it out..... Now thats the question...
-
BTW, for others waiting, I ordered mine on 4/19, ship date was listed as 5/12. It shipped 5/1 and looks like it'll be delivered 5/5. i7, IPS, 9 cell, 8GB, 320 w/ 7200RPM -
So I preordered a tablet about a month ago, i7 outdoor which was barely more than the otherwise identical i5. I went ahead and snagged some deals on a SSD and extra memory.
That order was later cancelled since the outdoor screen models were pulled off the topseller list. I re-ordered and went for the "bang 4 buck" multitouch model at a couple hundred cheaper.
Today I had a box waiting for me!
It was a large box!
Inside was a x220 tablet...
...sleeve
Double boxed too, so much wasted space -
my order that i cancelled on monday just shipped today. Called them and the rep told me to just sign for it and call again when i receive to receive an RMA.
hopefully I get mm new order soon! I'm expecting 5/14. -
Does anyone know the specifics of the ordering process from Amazon Checkout? I tried to find some relevant information on my Amazon.com account, but found only the business-end information about the service. I've ordered, but have yet to receive any confirmation by email, and -- as I had some earlier problems -- would like to check whether or not the order is probably placed.
-
i also ordered via amazon payment and reveived an email from amazon with the order info. it should show up in your amazon.com account too. -
you should receive the amazon email within 5-10 minutes of your order. i remember ordering mine at like 3am and the amzon email showed a time stamp of about 3am.
-
No worries, it was there, buried in some arcane submenus. Though excited over finally owning an usable ultraportable after a nightmarish year in deprecated Atom-hell, I must say that the "Just in Time"-principles of their production and shipping practice makes for some uncomfortable and unpredictable surprises; I'd rather have my computer _before_ the end of May.
-
My order status has been updated to shipped on 05/04 on Lenovo's website. Expected ship date was 05/16. No tracking number yet. I ordered on 04/20.
The specs are, i7 2.7GHz, W7 PROF, 8GBs, Intel SSD 160GBs, Intel 6250 WLAN, Gobi 3000 WWAN, Gemplus Smart Card reader, Bluetooth 3.0, Finger Print Reader, 6-cell Battery, 4YR Depot + 4YR TTP. -
My x220 arrived today. Ordered on April 19th, estimated ship date was May 9th.
Edit: I ordered via a Lenovo Canada rep. -
Have people been getting their orders in before theres even any indication that it has shipped?
IE: Status still shows an estimated ship date in mid may, but you already got a box w/ your order? Or do they actually send out proper shipment notices? -
Anyone odered through Barnes and Noble with LENOVOVIP got shipping notice?

X220T 4296-2WU $1250, what's wrong with it?
The X220 tablet, type 4296-2WU is offered at both costcentral and provantage for around $1250
Specs(according to tabook, both shops follow this): i5-2520M, 4GBx1, 12.5" HD Multitouch, 320GB 7200, intel 6205, FP, BT, cam, 6cell, Win7pro64 and 3 year warranty.
Same config at Lenovo.com is $1525(after 10% coupon)
Then there's the 4294-2EU at costcentral, same configuration as 4296-2WU but with i3 and intel 1000 which costs $1400
Am I missing something here? Did anybody order(and recieve) the 4296-2WU? -
Mine finally shipped! Will be here Tuesday by 10:30, which means I can take it with me on Friday when I leave on a trip.
Anybody know where to find the mSATA drive? Newegg has been out of stock except for ~15mins a couple days ago. Also, I'm guessing I can throw any old 8GB pair of RAM in there. I was looking at getting the G.SKILL ones since I've never once had a problem with G.SKILL RAM.
One more, which dvd/blu ray drives are people getting? -
FWIW, I was told in Lenovo chat that my x220 with a 9 cell is now expected to ship "the week of May 6," so I assume they will be getting more batteries in shortly.
-
Hi, and thanks everyone for the great resource.
Just to update this post: if anyone ordered with a slice battery and is still waiting to hear something, go ahead an call Lenovo. My order was in the system as undeliverable but they did not call me. They don't have the slice batteries and the entire order was just in an undeliverable category, not even a wait for the batteries to be back in stock category.
Somewhat frustrating. Hope this laptop lives up to reviews! -
I just called and the guy I spoke to said that mine would ship 5/13. (ordered 4/28 Ship date 5/18).
I asked him why I didn't see that date anywhere and he said HIS date comes direct fromt he supply chain. So, things may be looking up.
Not sure about the whole 9-cell shortage, but it may be over? -
-
FYI, it looks like the slice batteries are available on the site again. They were promoed in an email I received a couple hours ago. I still don't see it listed under the accessories when configuring an X220T, but I was able to call Mo and order it standalone.
$195.49 + tax, free shipping. Not the huge percentages we were seeing on the actual machines, but better than sticker (as if that ever represents the real price anyway). -
Is there ever a time where Lenovo doesn't have some coupon up? They pretty much put out the same coupon with a different name.
-
@ThiPaX40, I hope nothing is wrong as the specs at the resellers match the tabook. I know for a day (or even less) towards the end of April the lenovo site had the h/w config similar to 42962WU at the same price-point attainable using the combination of "VIP coupon + special discount on the site + going through B&N portal" ... even then, though, it wasn't apples-to-apples at that price b/c 42962WU threw in 3 yr warranty. (English is not my native language)
Not sure I understand what you're saying here, I agree it seems pretty cheap. Things I'm looking for in the X220 are: i5-2520, 1x4GB, IPS, cam, BT, FP, 6cell, intel 6205 and 3 years warranty.
This one seems to have all that according to costcentral, provantage and the tabook (although I suspect both resellers took specs directly from the tabook) I'm gonna order one and see what happens -
Not that that will help our impatience. -
Who knows, according to the TAbook, it looks like a very nice config. You'd have to be insane to order the pre-configured i3 model. I ordered mine some time ago, and last time I heard (couple days ago), costcentral will be receiving boxes of these from lenovo today (5/5), and start shipping them out immediately. I hope I can get it in a week now, but I didn't get any updates, and my credit card hasn't been charged yet.
If I wanted a tablet without 3 year warranty, it would have been a little cheaper with the barnes&noble and LENOVOVIP coupon directly from lenovo for a comparable spec.
(x220)
My $821.61 x220 (i5-2520m, ips, bt, 6205wifi, 250gb hdd, webcam) order was shipped yesterday from lenovo, and it's currently in Louisville, KY. -
-
Even though coupons expire, you can save your cart and that stays valid for 30 days?
I can get 20% for being a student and another 10% off with a coupon.
