I'm not sure about saved carts, but if you save it as a quote, I *think* it gets saved. I saved one about a week ago with a 10% discount, but Lenovo released another 10% discount right after that one expired so I don't know if it was saved or just updated.
-
Ah, that makes more sense. I'll ask a rep tomorrow, just to be 100% sure. Thanks.
-
A quote gets saved for 30 days, after that it expires. You can call up a sales rep and he can convert the quote for you into an order.
-
ordered my x220 on april 28th, and the estimated ship date is 5/18. Status says "in process".
Tech support has been of zero assistance. I'll wait until the 18th before I cancel my order, but it's incredibly frustrating to be promised that my laptop would ship in 8 days, have tech support promise me multiple times that "it should ship out much earlier than the 18th", and to still be here, twiddling my thumbs. -
That tech person shouldn't have said anything about the ship date. I'm sure they have no clue when it will ship. It's a new laptop and I'm sure Lenovo can't build them fast enough. Sit tight and try to be patient. Easier said than done.
-
Update from CostCentral on delivery of x220t ($1250 i5 top seller model) from Lenovo is 5/9 in the US.
Reason why this model is cheaper than building it on Lenovo is because its a preconfigured model and most likely built for businesses since it has vpro.
This will probably show up as one of those "web special" models on the lenovo site in a few months.
Then again, shipping on this from CostCentral has already been delayed once and may be delayed again if Lenovo isn't building this model yet. Could be a long delay or might eventually get cancelled .... but I'm hoping that cancelling of the outdoor screen models would have included these if they were being canned. -
Might be a dumb question but whats "VPRO"?
-
My ship date also said 5/18 and 'in process'... it shipped on the 4th. I have to forward it to Australia and repackage it with some from Newegg too - I should get all of that before the 18th.
-
I live in Oregon, lol. No sales tax.
-
Is the X220t gorilla glass version going to cost significantly more than the model with infinity glass? Comparing similar specs of course.
-
I'm getting tired of waiting. I know/ I know it will be worth it in the end. but man feels like time is ticking away at a snails pace. if its this bad for me I can only wonder what it would be like for an inmate doing 25 to life. uggg. I'm like the hotwire Guy (I'm not so good at waiting).
ordered on the 24th _ ship may 12th. when i called the Rep they said it could ship anytime of the week within that ship date. congrads to those that yours. I am really hoping this will be the right choice to replace my X300 workhorse. Otherwise I guess my only hope would be the T420s. but with that its battery life sucks comparatively.

Tried checking status on IBM site but keep getting "No results found for your query, try again". I'm entering my customer number/order number that I enter on the Lenovo site which works.
Is this the correct link for the IBM order checking site:
http://www.ibm.com/account/orderstatus/myorders/guestusersearch?sw=0 -
larryf your link may be tmi
-
Yes, that's the Lenovo site that works for me but says "In Process" until it ships. There have been others who posted that there is also an IBM site with Lenovo order status information with more up-to-date information.
-
I was not aware of that. I did a search on mine and just got a error with no details on your order. Shrug.

i was given the same answer yesterday. Do you get shipping notice today (last day of May 6 week)?
I haven't got anything from shipping. -
Just wait and be patient, they're shipping them out really fast now
-
Not yet. The week of May 6 means that its any day from today till the 12th.
-
cookid: its the day time difference from us-china. you item probably shipped on 5/4 your time/day
-
My 4/28 order shipped out 5/4 and is already in Kentucky.
My only complaint is they shipped the bag I ordered separate and that package requires a signature which is driving me nuts. I even signed saying UPS could leave the package, but they said Lenovo requires the signature. Makes total sense for the laptop, but either do not require for the bag or ship them together. -
Did you order with 6 cell battery?
-
W T F... my x220 is in Alaska now. Yesterday it was in KY. They must have left a screw in China, it went back to China, then to Japan, and now it's in Alaska.

Yes - 6 cell, i7, 4GB Ram, camera, bluetooth, IPS, and upgraded wifi.
-
I think they are really short on 9 cells. All the orders with the 9 cell battery are being delayed.
-
Called Lenovo today to see if I could upgrade to 2-day shipping. Since my order is 'already in the factory', as they say, changing the shipping priority would cause the entire order to be reset and "cause a week or more of delays".
Not to sound a sour note, but lenovo could hardly be ignorant of the absurdity of having Indian call centers with zero influence over the order and fulfillment process in china trying to answer the questions of impatient westerners who are unreasonable enough to expect that their computer would be shipped less than a week after they order it, could they? -
thanks for the update! I saw this after I had already called CostCentral and they also confirmed the delay to 5/9. reaaaallly hope it doesn't get delayed again!
-
I ordered X220 on the 27th. i7, 9 cell, webcam.
Estimated date 13th. Rep said it should ship in the week of 6th. -
I suppose karma has favored me, or at least chosen to ignore my previous posts complaining about how slow Lenovo is.
X220 w/ Core i5 2540 I think (can't be asked to look up the stats)
Express card slot, upgraded screen, etc.;
Ordered 4/28. Still haven't gotten the tracking # but the shipping notification email just arrived. -
9 Cell battery?
-
for clarification, "2-3 day shipping" is merely an upgrade from UPS ground to UPS 2-day air and has nothing to do with lenovo's build process.
-
My second unit shipped out today. I ordered on may 2, today is may 6, so a build time of 4 days? Looks like I'll receive it either Monday or Tuesday. My first unit should be arriving soon.
-
This is exactly what has happened to mine as well. I'm so confused. -
I didn't mean to say that the delay had anything to do with their build process. The inability to have lenovo change shipping after I've made an order without resetting the order as a whole was what I was trying to point out.
-
that's why the shipping options state " Before finalizing your purchase, you may select a delivery option for your order." shipping is considered a component of the build. any change to an order, no matter how insignificant, requires the first order to be cancelled and everything started over from scratch.
that's not to say it's the most efficient method. that's just how it is.
Lenovo - Shipping and delivery -
In my experience, apparently even asking for a price match will cause you to lose your place in line and delay your order for untold days... :/
-
It may actually be the most efficient way for a large company where any order is handled by multiple people in (potentially) different countries. Imagine how much confusion these order changes would cause if you attempt to propagate them down the assembly and delivery chain. It would be a logistic nightmare.
-
I'm at https://www.lenovoorders.com/orderstatus/index.cfm
but my customer# and order# are longer than 7 and 6 digits respectively...
anyways... very excited~
ordered on May 1, called on May 3 and managed to get a better deal thru a rep, and said delivery in the week of May 10th; just received an email on shipment notification...
Here's what I ordered

Perhaps later I'd try out that slim 90W adapter and the slice battery... -
I believe it's probably because the shipping system doesn't take into account different time zones and only uses an absolute date/time structure or an update structure.
Either that or they made a mistake somewhere. -
hey spam, can i ask how you got a better deal thru a rep?
im getting pretty much the same configuration except i have a fingerprint reader, and i dont have XP mode, and i have the lowest HDD. but my pricing at its best is about 1470. this is thru the mastercard marketplace lenovo deal which seems to be pretty awesome, but your pricing seems slightly better -
@spam: Not sure how worth the 4 year plan is.. seeing how it DOESN'T include accidental damage, whereas the 3 year plan does.. and for cheaper too..
-
I'd def. get the accidental warranty if I was buying a tablet, in case of a freak accident.
-
Mine was shipped today, i5 and IPS, rest default.
Ordered 28/4, ETA 19/5. -
Hi all,
Is there anyone received the X220 tablet version already or any information about the possible delay?
I ordered on April 25 (i5-2520, 4 GB Ram, 320 GB 7200 HDD, Bluetooth, camera, 6205 2X2AGN, fingerprint, 1 year standard warranty: Total price 1350 with tax.) and I didn't receive any shipment notification yet. I know that it is in warehouse since April 29, but then stuck in there.
Should I wait or cancel and place a nontablet version which seems to be shipped very fast now. I have a quotation for the following item:
X220 non-tablet
i7-2620, premium HD, camera, fingerprint, 320 GB HDD, bluetooth, 9 cell battery, ADVN 6205 2X2AGN, 4GB RAM, a year standard warranty : Total price : 1240 with Tax. and the estimated shipping date 5/11.
Please some advices. -
Not sure if anyone already saw this video, thought it might shed some light on IPS/screen features:
YouTube - Lenovo X220 IPS "Premium" vs X201 Tablet Outdoor (Displayvergleich)
The video's in German and quality isn't too good, but if you want to see a Lenovo X220 "Premium" IPS display compared with the X201 Tablet Outdoor one, check it out.
Especially noteworthy is the glare comparison at 4:00 (Outdoor display) and 4:50 (X220 Premium IPS). -
Summary -
discount is not "awesome" but will most likely exceed any existing coupon code discounts, and she's very approachable and fun.
I have also just received a coupon code for 15% discount - if you were to price the very same config, the before tax price is 1817ish. This coupon code is for NEW subscriber to their mailing list. *Applies only to Canadian residents*
Background
- Initially applied coupon code CAPSAVEINMAY, and thought it was a pretty good deal;
- Ordered and paid; then saw another coupon code called CAPRIDEFORHEART; priced it for the better HDD and it came out even cheaper - 1,734 for the machine and 454 for the 4yr NBD warranty.
- On the following Monday, I called the order support 1-866-426-5717 *i think i called the French line by mistake*
Chose the "change order" option;
first attempt took 30mins before an operator answered and who then put me on hold when I said I'd need to secure an order before I'd cancel; - After 5mins of on hold, I hung up, redialed and chose the Place Order option and talked to Nicole. I explained that I had that CapRideForHeart in the cart but had not ordered. Through a bit of negotiation, she came back with 1811.5.
I suppose this is a list of factors that I considered
- I'm rather careful with all my equipment;
- There isn't any young children in the household;
- I'm more concerned with hardware failure rather than accidents
*Btw the Canadian support plan is more expensive than US*

I'm thinking about getting this notebook for college next year (Computer Engineer, will bring 22" monitor so whatever coding I do will be easier. Let me know if this is a bad idea).
Is there any chance the price will drop, say $200-300, by the end of the summer? -
Thors.Hammer Notebook Enthusiast
The longer a model is on the market, the more there is competition in the market, the lower the price goes.
Considering the X1 is getting ready to hit the market if the 5/20 date holds, I would imagine you'll see some good coupons. -
Why didn't you just go through costcentral for x220t? With that same spec, plus 3 year warranty is $1250.
