Placed an order via UNC's website. Should be fun having a portable TP to go along with the veteran that's still doing the work.

Mine arrived Louisville on 24th and this morning (25th), UPS updated the status as:
exceptions: This shipment is warehoused until it is released by Clearing Agency

Some googling tells that the custom is requesting invoice info from UPS (and finally Lenovo). People said it would take a week for the custom inspection. And, calling any one of them would hardly help.

    :( :( :(

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Brilliant.
Ugh- googling the phrase, this seems to be standard procedure for Lenovo. People have reported waiting 10 days for it to clear customs in KY.

Not to make you guys jealous... but mine didn't seem to get stuck into the custom loop. My past 2 laptops were stuck in same status like yours and it took 3-4 days to get cleared.

Since I am still waiting on my x220 which was ordered April 17th, I just went through the order process again to see if the price changed. I sent myself a quote, and found I can save over $245 bucks if I just reorder! I guess I will cancel the original and just order this, as it indicates it will SHIP IN 10 DAYS, and I have been WAITING SINCE APRIL 17TH!

Sounds like an IPS shortage or some sort of delay related to the IPS screen? I got the regular TN screen since a pretty 22" LED monitor is coming in the mail. The only other differences between yours and mine are the HDD? (base is 250GB right?), Intel 6205, Win7 Pro and i5-2520 versus 2410, all of which aren't things I'd expect to have stock issues with.

I considered the IPS screen, but decided against it since well, 50 dollars is a lot of extra money for a screen upgrade. I've seen IPS screens and they look fantastic, but I don't know that I'd like paying extra for it.

After reading some of this thread I thought I had a serious wait on my hands, but I ordered on Sunday and got a tracking number today. Now I just need to find an 80gb intel 310 from somewhere and my glossy screened mac's days are numbered.

Everything that a computer does is outputted on a display. The display is really the most important way we interact with a computer. I believe the best investment (or upgrade) one can make when purchasing a computer is choosing the best screen available.

Really? Win7pro is standard on the X220 and they have volume licenses, I'd think they would be well prepared for it.

@the other people, sure the display is important, but TN panel works just as well. I'll have this connected to an external monitor most of the time and will use the notebook screen as a secondary screen. As ZaZ said, either way it's a great machine, IPS or not. It's scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, I'm very pleased with this! 2 weeks wait isn't bad at all. Looks like even if they have some delays I'll be getting it in time for leaving for the summer.

    -ordered 4296-2ZU on 4/15 (i7+GG)

Then all gorilla glass preorder models cancelled, CTO got the option later but so far estimated ship dates look awful. Pricing is also a lot higher.

    -ordered 4296-2WU on 4/26 (i5+MT)

-Still no real ETA: "maybe 5/31-6/8"

CC/PV/etc supposedly had my model last night but it was "an error" when I called this morning...

They all sold out of the 4296-37U that came in fairly quick (i7+MT+dock)

Judging by various forums my situation is not unusual, I think most got theirs by ordering extra early (somehow).

If this takes too much longer I might go heavyweight workstation instead and get a dell M4600/6600 with rgb ips.

Seconded, $50 ips upgrade on the regular model is the kind of deal you only pass if you don't know about it ;)

The current sale ends today so I'd expect to see something tomorrow. In fact, I waited a week to place my order because the current sale (RAM+HDD) is weaksauce.

Okay so the Memorial Day "sale" is up and, no joke, it's more expensive than last week. I have an estimate that I saved:

    Today it's looking like this:

The base price went up and the coupon is NOT giving the claimed 15% off. I'm confused and annoyed. Their big Memorial Day sale is a bust, it's actually more expensive than their lame sale last week because they raised the base price. :-/ I'm going to be combing the deal sites looking for good coupons tomorrow for sure...

I'll have to sleep on this and work on it more. Some quick things I noticed tho:

    - 4gb of RAM is still $0
    - 320GB HDD is now the default and there's no 250GB option anymore.

no 250 anymore? is this a freaking joke? If my 250 saved me any money, I'm glad...if it didn't that kinda pisses me off, although I don't really care about storage as I will use my current computer's WD blue 500gb for external if the need arises.

My price is coming up about $25 cheaper today than earlier this week. I am configuring with the 128ssd which is cheaper now than it was. Nothing close to the sale I was hoping for though, and not enough to make me buy just yet.

Anyone have any tips on working the reps? The one I was talking to wouldn't give me yesterday's price and wouldn't throw in anything to help cancel out the price difference. Basically, according to her, I'm SOL.

I know people have said trying other reps. Anyone have any helpful tips on what to say or ask for? I was being my most polite and charming, but that alone didn't seem to do it. ;)

If they continue to stonewall me, I'm just going to have to wait. The price on these has been steadily rising over the last 3 weeks. I can't imagine it'll get much higher before it drops again. And who knows, maybe a better laptop will come out while I'm waiting (X220s with 1600x900 screen, anyone?).

got mine today. ordered on 5/16 when it was on slickdeals, took 10 days and finally arrived on 5/26. shipped on 5/21, then the thing spent about 4 days in lousville, ky, before clearing customs. machine looks nice. haven't turn it on yet. compared to my dead t61p, keyboard feels less bouncy/springy (something that I liked about the t61p keyboard), but I am pretty sure I'll get used to the new keyboard in no time. overall, the build quality looks awesome. now i just need to decide whether to keep my m17x or this

Update: I boned myself. I "Saved Cart" (and emailed the cart to myself) instead of doing a quote thing. Because of that, they won't honor the price. Makes me sick to my stomach.

It's okay that happened to me too, but a better deal came a few days later lol.

I am pretty sick of this system where you need to dig through coupons and whatever crap to get a good deal, it's like they don't want sales or something...even with the crappier 10% only discounts their prices would be much much more attractive than say, Toshiba or Sony or whatever. Maybe they should stop with this ridiculous on and off 20-25% discount, massive price fluctuation, and whatever, and just give people a consistent price instead of trying to give some people a good price and then using them as marketing to rip others off.

All that said, if the laptop is really great I can almost forgive them for their ridiculous webstore. It's in KY right now, I hope it gets here soon :D

    Hi,

I ordered the X220T (4296-2WU) from CostCentral on 4/25. I've called several times over the past several weeks and the dates keep getting pushed out - 5/6, 5/10, 5/17, 5/20, 5/25, 5/26. They don't seem to have a clue as to what Lenovo has for manufacturing or ship date.

Has anyone else ordered from CostCentral about the same time as my order and received any information to delivery? Also, does anyone know if the laptops are drop-shipped from Lenovo or if CostCentral receives the laptop and then ships it out to the customers. (If the latter, I may consider expedited shipping.)

    Thanks!

I ordered the tablet with ssd mt i7 etc... The ship day has been like a rollercoaster on my end. Gone from 6/8 - 5/25 - 6/16 - 5/25 - 6/16 - 6/1 and finally 6/9! I called 3 times this week and their updated shipping changed all 3 times! Grr... Although the last person I spoke with guarenteed it'll be shipped out before 6/9 as of today. It sounds like they may be having supply issues due to the tsunami or are just overwhelmed with orders due to the heavy discounts and wholesale orders like p-advantage and c-central. I still have some hope it'll get to me next week but who knows at this point! I'll have my ram next week along with the slice, bt mouse, sleeve for about a month just sitting on my desk patiently waiting for this unit!

Hey everyone, I ordered my Thinkpad x220 last week and it was shipped yesterday (currently in Kentucky) with ETA of Wednesday.

When I first ordered it, I checked my bank account online, and the funds were 'pending'. I just checked again and the money seems to have been given back to me. There is no sign of a transaction with lenovo.

Anyone know when creditcards are usually charged? Maybe once it has shipped or not? Very confused.

Well, about a week ago my laptop was sent to the Lenovo outlet in Whitsett, NC because of an "incomplete address". My credit card has been charged by Amazon and I have not been contacted by Lenovo to say that my order was cancelled.

    Massive run around...

I am having the same problem with Provantage at the moment. I originally had an order with CC but they want a scan of my drivers license, hell no to that.

Whats worse it occasionally it pops up as "IN STOCK" on their website. Its happened 3 times so far, but I never notice in time during phone line hours since I'm at work. When I get a chance to call the next morning they are of course "out of stock" again.

Like right now, they supposedly have TWENTY NINE of them, and it dropped a few dollars. CC supposedly has 10 of them.

I placed yet another order just incase there is some stupid screwup with my order, if I end up getting two I'll just refuse the second. (I'll be damned if I pay any restock) I will also definitely only be paying the lowest current price, and not what it was in mid-april.

I ordered from PV on 4/15 (4296-2ZU) with an order change on 4/26 due to that model being discontinued so I really should be top of the queue for shipping. If some random shopper buys today and gets one of those in stock and I don't, thats an utter failure in customer service.

I ordered on 5/16 as well but it has yet to ship. The extra battery I added shipped already though. I did max out the configuration as it was the B&N 30% off Doorbuster deal so that may be the holdup.
