i guess if you can resell your old stuffs and use the money towards a new product, then by all means do so.
The X200t laptop is a great stuff, ask Erik. I think that is his main laptop right now, and he works as an Industrial Designer. I rarely do much drawing so that was the reason why i sold the new X200t (i currently have a broken X61t, which needs to have the LCD replaced).
If another X200t came at 900 odd AUD then i would definitely get two, one for me and another for my girlfriend.

Thanks for the info on the warranties. I saw the warranty 'sticky' you made ZaZ, but it didn't quite answer all my questions, so I asked here.
Those of you who ordered the discounted X200t, post back here on the hardware spec's you received (when you get it) I'm interested in seeing if they really were all the same, and what parts they have (I find it hard to believe they all have the outdoor screen) -
I just checked my order status and I'm getting this.
Invalid Customer Number and/or Order Number.
Please verify that your customer number and order number have been entered correctly.
Happening to anyone else? -
Nope. Mine is still in process. And hey it's not like I haven't had a chance to check it every 10 mins for the past 16 hours I've spent on the JFK Airport in NYC ^^
-
Mine is also still In Process.
-
They said they canceled the order because the shipping address is different from the billing address.
Like I said earlier in the thread, I had to order it to a friend's place because I'm on a vacation.
Why would they add the option to enter a different shipping address if they're gonna cancel it anyway? -
I have a feeling once the dust settles my order will get dropped. I should have ordered one when they had 306 in stock instead of submitting the order at 19 in stock (immediately refreshing the page to show zero in stock).
Oh well, the Lenovo giveth and the Lenovo taketh away (^_^). -
That's odd. You can try adding another address with your credit card (for example, newegg requires you to do this). Then I would call again and ask if you can get the order back.
@Thebugman
It's not over until fat lady sings. -
Does the multitouch feature have an impact on battery life?
-
Says zero for me. I think you have to have the address on file with the CC company before Lenovo will ship it elsewhere. It's a fraud thing.
-
Click the multi-touch link and it says $478! not $1202
Refurb
OUT of stock -
Yeah it says 0 when you actually click on the link. I think there are some issues with their web page loading the old cached version instead of the new one. I had this happening when I was posting the link.
BTW: SHIPPED ! -
Lenovo Outlet - ThinkPad X200 Tablet New - Discounted Laptops, Cheap Laptops, Refurbished Laptops, Discounted Desktops, Cheap Desktops, Refurbished Desktops
Now the page says "Quantity Available: 34". Dunno how long that would last though. -
lol @ new T500 for 500$
-
Yep....only 34 left now.
-
Shipped. Is it possible to check whether I have multitouch or not with the serial # available on the order status page?

I can't tell if I got the outdoor screen or not. :\
Info from model number:
Edit: I found it. It isn't outdoor, but the 300 nit LED. Now, are all of the tablet screens IPS, or mine in particular at least? -
Thank you very much erik, for giving us the useful links where we navigated through with a serial number, part numbers etc.
I don't really care that much about tech specs if the screen looks half-decent. But my understanding is that all of them are a bit better than the standard screen that comes with X200. -
Not all the X200t screens are IPS/AFFS. Some are Samsung PVA panels, which is what I believe you got based on the part number.
-
Hm, well according to our sister site: http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/lenovo-ibm/31644-definitive-x200-tablet-lcd-panel-resource.html
it's supposed to be
4) Superbright Outdoor Viewable LED
400nit, 500:1 contrast, Glossy, 1.2% reflectivity, multiple anti-reflectivity layers, Toshiba S-PVA, FRU 13N7272, PN 42T0697, Model# LT121EE08000 -
Based on the part number 45N6092 provided by Palmately, I think it's the Samsung PVA.
-
Ah, he has a different part number. Mine says:
"42T0697 13N7272 12.1 INCH LCD DISPLAY"
But I can't say I have an official Lenovo reference which one is definitely which, only the post at tabletpcreview. -
Looks like you got the same display as me.
Appears they are all the "PVA" type. I thought the outdoor version would have been IPS, but it just has the higher nit and special reflectivity stuff. Looks like they should all be nice displays regardless. -
Yep it looks like so. I am not too happy about the word "glossy" in the description of that screen but it's probably not as glossy as the consumer-type laptop screen. I googled a little bit and basically the only disadvantage I read is that it gets messy with fingerprints quite easily.
-
The online warranty status says 3 years vs the stated 1 year. Is that an error?
-
If you're talking about an outlet purchase, all machines bought there have a one year warranty that's not upgradeable via normal means. You'd need to buy an out of warranty extension, which is more expensive. It also means there's no on-site, accidental or IWS available to outlet purchases.
-
give it 1~3 weeks and warranty status will be reset to one year.
-
, about a month beforehand though) that was out of warranty since August, and was able to get up to two years on-site warranty for a reasonable amount. I opted for the one year on-site for less than $200 that would get me through my last year of college. I was shocked that I could even purchase the warranty after it was expired for almost four months.
You are right about the accidental and IWS though. The outlet users will just have to be slightly more careful with our tablets. -
Just received mine. Haven't fired it up yet as it's still unthawing at this point due to the freezing weather. The outdoor screen looks really glossy and not a whole lot better than the consumer grade glossy screens. Hate to see my mugshot whenever I sit in front of it. Is it possible to matte it out with a screen protector without hurting too much the image quality and digitizer response? If so, which one should I get? Thanks!
-
I'm on mine right now. I made the recovery discs and put a vertex 2 from my T510 inside it and recovered windows. Overall, I am impressed with the construction. This thing is DEAD silent. It is not quiet, it is SILENT. I love the wacom abilities as well. Overall, well worth it.

Sorry, my bad, was on the first cup of joe when i made the post.
Simply not thinking... -
Strange my Tool Box says it has 1102 days of warranty left...
-
May not want to make much noise about that, even here on this site.
Just maybe they will forget to reset the warranty back to one year due to an outlet sale -
-
by looking up the serial number (order confirmation) from lenovo.com
I see these followings..
27R2491 13N7297 FLAT PANEL DISPLAYS; FRU 12WXGA 400NIT L
60Y4587 63Y1106 SL9400 W/TPM SYSTEMBOARD FRU YES
for warranty,
Expiration date: 2013-12-18
ordered on 28th
It was shipped out on 30th and still waiting for the tracking number to be posted on the order status page.
I was thinking I would receive SL9600....
I guess, no Luck with free CPU upgrade..
I will take it apart to see if what panel it came with once I get it...
(should be the info on the LCD shown in Device Manager?)
thanks for reading. -
What Win 7 experience score do you get on yours? I get 3.4 with the video being the weakest link. Will more RAM help bump up the score?
-
Well obviously it's low - since you have Intel integrated graphics. But that's beside the point; who cares about the scores on a (crappy) benchmark? That said I'll probably grab 2GB RAM more from eBay. Not because it will bump the score up
but because I use up all 3GB of mine I had when I'm analyzing the data in my office.
I received mine yesterday, but I'll be able to open it in a week when I'm back in the US. -
Should I downgrade from Win 7 to XP? I've been using XP for a long time and hate to relearn the new OS.
-
Well, I'm not sure whether there are all the good drivers available for XP. Tbh, Win7 is 100x times better, stable, faster and - prettier.
-
-
I was really hesitant about going to Win 7 from XP, if I have to use XP now it seems archaic.
-
The inventory level is now -1.

ROFL.
Btw back in the US after a terrible trip. Anyhow, I just booted the X200t. Screen is mediocre - suffers from exactly the same problems as the AFFS screen I bought (and returned) from eBay. I liked the regular stock AUO matte on X200 much much more. Not to mention all colors have yellow tone again. Sigh... Oh yeah and it's glossy (but not nearly as much as e.g. m11x screen). It is extremely bright at max setting though so it actually might work outside. However, it's way more suitable for a tablet due to good viewing angles. Speaking of which - vertical viewing angles are subpar: the screen gets darker as you move your head down - or closer to the keyboard.
So screen again nothing special (really... if you want a good screen get IPS or RGB LED and not this) and big minus - doesn't have a thinklight.
In tablet mode, however, it really shines. The hinge feels almost stronger than on X200 and I got a good feeling of the stylus even after few minutes of playing around with it.
So:
Plus: Tablet functionality - you can use it same as iPad its just a real computer, build quality (feels better than X200), extra rubber padding for the screen with respect to X200. No modem.
Minus: Missing ThinkLight, bad default color profile (yellowish colors), quite big yellow leak on all edges (black on some parts of the edge is actually yellow?!). 3 USBs but all of them are quite far from each other - meaning I can't connect my external hard drive with 2 USBs unless I'm using the dock. Slightly heavier than X200.
I'm satisfied overall. I like the fact that the tablet works so amazingly well. And I'll actually use the sketching with my work. Also, unlike the X200 I had, this one has a web cam. -
-
Nope, it doesn't have multitouch. I don't really need it though, as the screen is 12".
