When is your T400 expected to ship to Canada?

ordered on Sept. 16 and got a shipment notification today, called in and rep told me I should get it in about 4 days =P

 

Called Lenovo today and they confirmed that my entire order got shipped on 9/21. They said shipping notifications are sent out each Thursday and that it will arrive 5 - 7 business days after being initially shipped. So earliest ETA is Friday, but she said most likely Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Considering that I ordered on 9/12, it only took 5 business days to be shipped. I'm stoked!

just called lenovo today and the rep confirmed my order and shipment. i asked him about the "all or part of ...." concern, and he told me that it was just a careful wording in case the customers did order more than one item.

also, he informed that though he couldn't see the track number on the screen since the box hadn't arrived in canada yet as we spoke, the earliest time i would expect my t400 to arrive is tmr !!! well, we'll see........

mine was in customs for a couple days, so if you get it tomorrow, you're gonna be lucky lol. I'm expected to receive mine on friday. Ordered my ram from a local IT store here today too, should have that in a couple days.

 

ordered mine Sept. 12 too! hoping for it tomorrow or Friday, i live in res, so hopefully the front desk can sign for it when it does arrive...

Sucks that ALL the laptops are shipped bulk to Ontario first. Living out in the West, it takes an extra week to get here. Oh well, should be arriving tomorrow (if there is someone home to take the package, unlike today...)

 

i believe our t4oo are in the same truck. so most likely we'll get the same panel as well. have u been able to get a track no. yet?

Delivery is not controlled by Lenovo but rather UPS. I finally got mine delivered this morning, I've always had poor experiences with UPS as it seems the package just likes to sit forever at some places.

Interesting point you made there hgl. You are absolutely correct about not getting your hopes up too soon. It happened to my brother when he ordered his x61, it took about 2 weeks from when it got to Canada and finally to the west coast. Perosnally, I've had good and bad experiences with UPS so I don't know what to say other than to call in daily and find out where your laptop is. UPS sometime needs a good kick in the rear section to get them to do something quickly.

 

I'm not sure that I'll be getting my laptop from UPS since I don't see UPS truck often in my area.... but never mind! I CAN'T WAIT !!!!

 

This is because it had to go from Mississauga to Newfoundland, which is where I am.

 

Called today and no tracking number, is apparently still being shipped. Rep said earliest delivery is Monday. Was hoping to get the laptop to play with over the weekend, but looks like its not going to happen. The sooner the better for me, my current computer is unstable and likes to shutdown without warning.

 

I also called Lenovo today and the rep said I wouldn't have a tracking number before tomorrow or Monday... estimated shipping arrival around wednesday or Thursday!

 

I called earlier and they still said Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Either the shipment is on schedule or someone is lying to me.

 

i think my case is actually better considering that i was able to get a UPS tracking number. but i can't locate where my laptop actually is right now since UPS only shows it's in Canada ........ and that's it ...........

Hahaha, awesome. I've ordered on the 12th (like 10 mins before the sale was supposed to be over), got my shipping confirmation email on the 21st, and I am in Quebec as well

Another cool bit is that I'll be on vacation until the 15th starting next week.. So I'll be here for the delivery, and will have plenty of time to setup everything

I also managed to get an Advanced Dock for $179 on ebay, with just 3 tiny scratches. Its still on warranty until July '09, and its the latest FRU. Oh, also got a 4-cell battery and the Ultrabay Slim Battery II for it. Still waiting after the SATA HD drivebay adapter, and the 320GB Seagate Momentus 7200.3 that will be swapped with the stock 100GB 7200rpm I ordered it with

I'll see how the keyboard is first-hand before deciding wether or not to get a T61 one.

Now if we could fast forward to the middle of next week

That is one hell of a setup you got there Francis85. Looks like it is going to be a beast of a machine. I think all of our notebooks came in on the same shipment on the 21st. Lets see who gets it first.

Yeah, mine came today too! I guess this shows how much the lenovo reps know. I called yesterday, and according to them it wasn't even in the country yet. I also think I have gotten an lg screen to boot! At least, i think i did. The parts list on the website didn't work, but pc wizrd told me i had a LP141WP2-TLB1, which i believe is an LG led screen.

hey Francis85 and bobo bobbins, are you guys in toronto? mine was shipped on friday as well but i wasn't home to sign it, so i guess i have to wait till mon to get it. if u guys r in toronto, then most likely our t400s were built from the same batch, which suggests that it's very likely i'll get the LG panel as well

 

I just opened the laptop and I'm very pleased with... so far the keyboard don't bother me (first laptop ever for me)... and the screen seems pretty good! I'll check if its an LG or Samsung... but I think Ill keep it even if its samsung since I think the quality is very great!

 

I'm in Kingston, so mine probably got shipped from Toronto. Luckily I had the front desk to sign for mine. Hopefully they all came with the lg, mine looks great and I have no complaints.

 

I actually ordered mine 9/23 and got a notification saying it shipped on 9/25!! Can this be right?? I called on 9/24 to confirm and they told it just got released to manufacturing, so like less than one day to make and ship?

I'd guess the same batches have the same hardware, so you probably have an LG too.

 

JonathanK, they use UPS Standard to deliver it to you once its in Canada.

Timeline:
- Order Sept. 12th 10 mins before midnight
- Shipment Notification Sept. 21st
- Delivery Sept. 26th

On the 26th I asked on their live chat if they had any info on the progress of the shipment, and I was told it had actually been delivered, and they gave me the UPS tracking#.

According to Lenovo website, it was shipped the 24th so it took 6 days including weekend, but I received the shipping notification the 27th. Which one is the accurate one so I can predict when UPS will come?

Thank god my brother was home to sign for it. I will turn it on first thing in the morning. I'm so excited to get my own T400!

T400 received today. LG panel with no dead pixel. Everything's perfect.

 

What are the different panels you could get? Is LG panel the best you can get out of those? Why does Thinkpad have different panels and 3 different keyboards for the T400? Can we, customers choose exactly what we want? or is it just luck?

 

Bumping, this is a thread that may be useful to others.

I'm most likely ordering my T400 tomorrow, hoping it will be here before the end of August. Although my friend bought his T400 4 months ago and his came 3 days after he ordered.
