I ordered on the 21st and it arrived in Anchorage today. This was a 6 cell, IPS, i5, 4GB RAM, camera, Bluetooth, etc.

I decided I didn't want to be without USB 3.0 and i7 as I plan to have this for a while due to it being a work laptop. Yesterday I ordered a 6 cell, IPS, i7, 4GB RAM, Bluetooth, camera, and upgraded wireless card.

Hopefully it will move quicker than 2 weeks, but I am not hopeful. It is going to be painful next Tuesday or Wednesday when I have my new laptop that I have to send back and wait for the upgraded one.

Update: My i7 x220 arrived yesterday. Shipped on 4/26, arrived 4/28. I had the expedited 2 day shipping, which only took two days. The shipment came straight from Alaska to CA without stopping in Louisville.

already plenty of those on youtube, although I would like it if someone does a software test/review doing common tasks like browsing videos, editing spreadsheets, encoding/decoding videos, encryptions, zipping, and photo/video editing.

Agree 100% on some instructional videos if possible and tests plus hands on reviews. Unboxing are all over the place and I really, really do not care about how to open a box and remove system.

does reinstalling win 7 do anything? I was under the impression that the thinkpads doesn't ready come with bloatware except for the thinkpad specific software that are actually beneficial like the battery manager, also how big of a difference does uefi make in terms of boot speed?

I personally don't want the Lenovo utility manager, and the reason I am reinstalling win 7 is to upgrade from win 7 hm to win 7 Pro(I have several copies of unused pro).

Varies from motherboard to motherboard, but in x120e I believe it was pressing enter at the prompt when you first turn on the computer (with the Thinkpad logo showing).

Apparently customs for these flights operates both in AK and KY. I guess for his flight customs was passed in AK and for yours for whatever reason (maybe they're overloaded in AK right now) will need to be passed in KY

I live in Northern California and mine was sent to Southern California and then marked as "Incorrect routing at UPS facility." Hopefully I still get it on Monday.

Mine's in Chicago and looks like it'll be at the sorting facility not far from me this afternoon, but UPS says you can only pick it up from them after a delivery attempt has been made.

It went from Louisville to Chicago. Looks like it'll come straight to Palatine instead going to Hodgkins first.

I kept the stock windows install on the HDD after installing the mSATA SSD. In device manager, I updated the USB 3 driver by manually pointing it to the windows directory on the stock drive.

Is everyone getting their models earlier than marked? I just ordered mine today (see sig), and it's got a scheduled shipment date of 5/24. If it isn't physically delivered by 5/27, I won't be able to get it as I'm moving....

Should I cancel the order, or will it most likely be here earlier than expected? Even two days early should do it.

Count on it being 1-3 weeks earlier than the estimate.

edit: noticed your sig says 9-cell. Those apparently are out of stock and will delay the shipment by a week or two (from what I read here; people said they called in and that's the answer they got)

Ended a live chat session with Lenovo. My order was placed April 19/20, with an est. shipping date of May 12th. No updates from Lenovo's or IBM's site yet. Both either show in progress or expected to ship, but the CSR stated:
": This order is estimated to ship week of May 4th.
    : Anytime this week.
: You will receive shipping confirmation email on the date of shipment."

I'm pretty sure it was the 9 cell battery. It only cost me $9 to upgrade at the time. It went up to $30 last time I checked.
