You are right. I mistyped it. It's this one. New HP Pavilion Zbook 15 LED FHD UWVA AntiGlare Matte LCD Screen LTN156HL02

Again - it's the best display I've seen. Next to my Macbook Pro, HP Envy 13 and Asus G750 there's simply no comparison.Even my iMac 27" can't look close to the display.

I disassembled it and taped the connector with duct tape, so it can't move at all. I haven't had issues in about a week. I guess it's the cable, but since it's now working I'm not risking to disassemble it again!

Do you have complete model number, there will something after the LTN156HL02, such as LTN156HL02-201 or LTN156HL02-301

I spent few hours to read more than 100 pages carefully and trust me it is pain in the @$$ task. The following is the conclusion so far while there are about 30 pages left. Hope this helps. :)

    - Still no replacement for 4K and touch panel
    - If you are a really fan of FPS you should get Samsung panel for low response time. 25ms is acceptable for casual gamer and it is noticeable if you are hardcore player.

    Hello all,
This thread is so full of useful information! I received an Asus ROG GL552JX a couple weeks back. The model I got (GL552JX-DM291D) came with an AUO36ED TN screen, which I believe is same as the one used in Y50.

I was not really aware how bad this screen was until I turned it on. My laptop came with a faulty screen to boot but it was quickly replaced. I was hoping changing the screen would amp things up but no joy.

I sent a mail to laptopscreen.com and they tell me the Samsung LTN156HL02-201 IPS panel they have can work with any ROG GL552 JX as long as it supports 1080p resolution.

But then I also stumbled across the LTN156HL06-C01 on panelook.com. It was love at first sight! True 8 bit color, 300 cd/m brightness and 800:1 contrast ratio. The 201 in comparison has 6 bit color. The model has the same 30 pin connector and the guy from laptopscreen.com says the LTN156HL02-201 is compatible with the C01, so I am guessing the latter can work in my laptop as well.

I am trying to find this screen but so far have had no luck. Everywhere I look, I can only find compatible screens and no originals. I will appreciate if anyone here has any insights on where I can find this. The LTN156HL02-201 seems like a decent screen, but the C01 is obviously better.

    Thanks!

I am interested in knowing this too.

If it is LTN156HL02-201 ( http://www.panelook.com/LTN156HL02-201_Samsung_15.6_LCM_parameter_24407.html), then laptopscreen.com has them. They are also offering 3 year warranty which is pretty sweet.

    Edit: Its a LTN156HL02-301

Link to the product page is - http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-HP-Pavi...637746?hash=item2ee36672f2:g:Y7sAAOSwPcVVmndY

Hover cursor over the product pic, the model number is given in sticker.

How many errors can a man make in a single post? It is an LTN156HL02, indeed.

The tape didn't work at all. I unscrewed the back of the computer and checked the cable going to the motherboard. It's fine. I then double checked the connector on the monitor. It's fine. Everything looks the way it should.

The issue isn't that the screen goes black - the display itself turns itself off. I figured this by removing the screen with the laptop on and waiting for the display to act up. The backlight turns itself off.

Another thing - the laptop redraws the screen when the display goes on and off.

    Here's the weird thing:

    1) Moving the laptop does not cause the display to go off.
    2) Moving the lid does not cause the display to go off.
    3) The display can go off without anyone or anything touching the laptop.

So I assume it's not a wiring or connector problem. It'd look as if the display is using too much power and shutting off, or as if the display has issues and the backlight goes off.

    The problem shows itself

    1) When I turn on the laptop. Sometimes the display goes off once, sometimes twice, sometimes it starts turning on and off. This is the most usual situation.
    2) When I'm using the laptop. It goes off for a split second, then comes back on
    3) Whenever I disassemble the computer to try and fix this issue, the display works properly for a while (one or two days), then the problem returns.

Weirdest thing. Sometimes it just turns itself off and I have to shut down the computer to bring it back on.

I cleaned all connectors, removed the tape, fully seated the connectors, reassembled everything, reinstalled Windows and I'm using the high performance mode on my Intel card.

Next thing I'll try is to exclusively run the NVidia card and see if the problem repeats itself.

Funny thing is, whenever I do something like this (reassemble, check connectors, etc) the laptop works for a while and then it starts acting out all over again.

I'm assuming my display is defective...

I have installed LTN156HL01 today (not to be confused with LTN156HL01-XXX which are different). It has a color gamut of 97% sRGB according to Spyder4Elite. Not sure if this display was already mentioned here. (I don't know how to search in one thread only, sorry.)

PS: Thanks for the info about all 30 pin eDP displays working in this notebook. I actually didn't buy this display to replace the inbuilt display of Y50-70. I was going to use it with an LCD controller which unfortunately was not working, so I tried connecting it with my laptop, and it worked perfectly, unexpectedly.

You wouldn't happen to have a second notebook, do you? The best way to test your display would be to connect the display to another notebook with a 30 pin eDP display. I recently tried connecting my display to my father's budget ACER ES1-531 (which he bought for 300 bucks on ebay, new, about a year ago), and it worked perfectly. That notebook has a 1366 x 768 display built in, but my 1920 x 1080 display worked without a problem.

Yeah, so, if you don't have another notebook, I would connect your notebook to an external display to see if your graphics card is defective. (And I would also ask in another thread, because more people might see your question...)

I managed to replace my Y50 screen with LP156WF4=SPU1 successfully. This glossy screen looks beautiful. However it got minor bleeding on the top left and bottom left corner. I think the reason could be the pressure from the bezel. Is there anyway to fix? Is it ok live with this bleeding?

I take out the bezel and backlight bleeding is gone. It means the reason comes from the pressure design of the bezel. It is great if anyone knows how to fix this issue.

According to this, pin 28 is one of the backlight power pins.

Is it possible to have no backlash because of just this one pin? There's more shouldn't be ok anyway without this pin? Is it edp? Why on the connector cable dc02001yq00 there is LVDS writing.

I suppose all power pins are necessary for the backlight to function, otherwise it does not get enough power. Even though you have multiple pins I doubt some of them could be backup and the pins are probably limited to deliver the exact amount of power and if a pin is malfunctioning the others can't compensate. I'm just guessing here but it makes sense.

Y50 FHD panels are all eDP, 30 pin, 2 lanes. No idea about the touch version.

No, this is in a Lenovo G50-80, original panel was a ChiMei 1366x768, with this B156HAN01.1 performs very nicely.
Another one you could consider is BOE NV156FHM-N42, this also a very nice screen, I bought from touchandscreen.de a trustworthy retailer, as you are aware, these screens are personal choices and look around for a suitable one for you.

hi everyone! i have a y50-70 FHD model which i bought 1.5 years ago. from day one i hated the screen but the specs were great so i still got the laptop. 6 months ago i started exploring whether i can change the display or not. and after tons of research i am getting AUO B156HAN01.2 from: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MR9K3IG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
they are also giving 2 year warranty so i am quite pumped for this purchase as i am awaiting a refund for a cancelled order as the same seller didn't have the exact LP156WF4 SPD1 only a compatible screen.

i have a friend who also owns a y50-70. so if i get a chance then after replacement i will post side by side comparison pic/video. this forum was a great help so i feel like contributing to it too.

Well, recently I've got my hands on a Samsung LTN156HL02-201 screen. My Y50 came originally with LP156WF4SPL1, and I can say I can fully vouch for this panel. The colours are better, the screen is brighter, and gaming is finally kinda acceptable due to the lower response time. I got the screen for around 55 bucks and for that value it is a steal, considering I was able to overclock it to 100Hz without any artifacts - I just had to thouroughly clean the eDP connector, because at first it showed garbled images full of artifacts, but now it's perfect.

Nice. I am assuming you're overclocking using that new unlocked beta Intel driver? 100hz fully stable with no issues? That is very impressive! I picked one up for $30 and will be testing it in my laptop tomorrow when I get home. I was hoping it would overclock decently considering it's PLS and not IPS. I'll lose G-Sync but at 100hz I won't be complaining.

Yup, I managed 100Hz on LTN156HL02 with Intel Test Driver and Custom Resolution Utility. The issue I got at both 75 and 100Hz was that there were weird landscape lines so I'm back at 60Hz. Also, has anyone managed to calibrate the LTN156HL02 panel? Mine is really yellow and I've roughly adjusted it using the built-in Windows 10 tool but it's not ideal.

On this thread's advice I got a B156HAN01.2 to replace the original display.

All went fine for a while, but then I started getting strange flickering horizontal lines. Purple ones from the bottom up when dragging a window to the edge of the screen (and which leave a very slight ghost flickering for a while after). Or jagged white ones when playing something in full screen, and always at the same exact point of the video (or view in the game).

When reconnecting the old display the issue is gone (but of course everything looks unbearably bad again). I also noticed that there is a small dark spot on the display's connector, which looks like it's burnt or something. And also a dark golden stain at the same spot on the sticker that was on top of it.

Has anyone else had anything like this? Any help would be appreciated, I don't really know what to do.

    Hi, my first post here,

The left hinge came out and tore through the display. Mine is the Y50-70 FHD touch version.

Qustion is, if I replace the touch display with a FHD non touch one complete with a non touch back lid and hinges would it fit this laptop?
    Thanks

Hi, from where did you get the info that the B156HAN01.1 does 92% - 96% sRGB ? I can't find that info anywhere online ? Also do you know which is the newer model between the 1.2 or 1.1 ? Some say the 1.1 is the newer model... I am asking because most of the sellers now a days only sell the 1.1. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I think we got this information from Notebookcheck.net. Here is one link: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Schenker-XMG-P507-Clevo-P651RP6-G-Notebook-Review.172321.0.html
Scroll down to the "Display" section of this review. You'll see that this panel has about 90% sRGB coverage.

About the 1.2 and 1.1: *think* the 1.1 is glossy while the 1.2 is matte/antiglare. I have the 1.2 and it has worked wonders. YMMV, and some Amazon sellers might list the 1.1 but ship you the 1.2. You never know. I ordered an LG LP156WF4(SP)(D1) but got an 1.2 that I am using right now. It has been two years and the panel is still going strong!

Great! The info on notebookcheck is for the 1.2 though. If the 1.2 and 1.1 are the same then all is good but if not, I don't want to buy the 1.1 and end up with an inferior screen. The thing is I can't find any accurate srgb readings for the 1.1 only, like measured with a color calibrator and all. So If anyone with a 1.1 and a color calibrator here can measure the srgb percentage and post it, that would be really helpful. Not to mention that the age old question of what is the difference between the 1.2 and 1.1 will finally be resolved :)

    Thanks

I bought an "B156HAN01.2" on AMAZON(.de) coming from Hong Kong a couple of days ago. There are still more differences than initially expected. The panel itself is stating that it's an AUEO11ED (not the good "AUO12ED"!) showing up as "B156HW01 V1". It's a low/normal gamut display. As far I can see and after searching the web for hours and hours these seems somehow be related to different hardware versions of the panel AUO is providing - no idea why :(

I own the lenovo y5070 UHD non - touch screen version . Im an fps gamer ( mainly csgo ) so the 48hz limit of the stock panel is really killing me .

I was wondering if it is possible to replace that monitor with a FHD monitor with more than 60 hz display for smooth gameplay . i would really like to know if that i possible .

I think you received a TN panel instead of an IPS one. Check the operating mode in the overview section : http://www.panelook.com/B156HW01 V4_AUO_15.6_LCM_overview_686.html. You should return it and ask for a B156HAN01.2 only.

Hey everyone! Thanks to your help I changed my TN screen to an IPS one. It's way better! I got the B156HAN01.1 from laptopscreen.com. It has good colors but it lacks a bit in brightness. So far no problems, aside from 2 stuck pixels and a little bit of light leaking on the bottom left. It's not too noticeable though and I can live with that. Colors seem good. Apparently it covers the full sRGB range according to this test I did: https://www.damiensymonds.net/2010/04/check-your-monitors-gamut.html. I will test with a spectrometer when I get one. Also, my laptop is not a Y50 but a Lenovo W540. So if anyone with a W540 wants to change their screen, here is my tutorial:

    Cheers,

    Emil
