At least in my case, these drivers didn't fix my disconnect issue since they're the ones I first changed to when the ones that Lenovo had didn't keep my AC card connected reliably. Even with this download I still get the disconnects randomly. Usually under consistent load though, such as downloading files, as opposed to just web browsing. It rarely disconnects when there's not much network traffic such as a download or file transfers.

FYI, https://downloadcenter.intel.com/De...D=3714&DwnldID=23390&lang=eng&iid=dc_rss#help has the 16.6 version now, I just installed and will see how this version does...

Connected to an external monitor, the screen image suddenly turned sideways. Fiddled around with it, finally opened the Y2P cover and the image righted itself. Turns out it went into tablet mode until the cover was opened, then set itself back to laptop mode. Anyone else run into this?
-
Seems kinda stiff, paying about 20% of the Y2P cost for a third year of warranty coverage...
-
That's for accidental and In-Home service. Well worth it if you ask me.
-
Yes, there is a switch on the side to temporarily disable the rotating. You can also hit Win+"arrow key" depending on which way you want to rotate it while the screen is down. I disable the rotating.

Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions and links. I decided to try and turn on the machine once more before jumping on my iPad to see if anyone responded to my post and magically the Yoga 2 was connected to my network. Hopefully this was an isolated incident but if it's not, now I have some good tips on what to do to fix it.
Thanks again!Tonio78370 likes this. -
Is there any microHDMI cable that will work with the Y2P without needing to cut off a bit? My cable won't work.

I got a microHDMI-to-HDMI adapter from monoprice for like $2. Works great and can use with any HDMI cable.

I was about to buy the i5, 8GB, 256SSD version and all of a sudden it is gone from Lenovo's website. Can somebody tell me where that version has gone? It is sold at future shop Lenovo Yoga 2 13.3" Touchscreen Ultrabook - Silver (Intel Core i5-4200U/256GB SSD/8GB RAM) -English : Ultrabooks - Future Shop
This is really frustrating since this is exactly what I need and it has been removed for some reason? Does anybody know why this might have happened and when it will be back? -
The shipping cost to Sweden is way too expensive... :/

Hi guys! I'll be probably getting a Yoga right after Christmas. The most important thing for me to know about it is - how does Visual Studio 2013 look like on a display like Yoga's? Screenshots would be appreciated
Cheers! -
Agreed, the extension is for the ADP and In-Home service.
-
I bought my Y2P from Best Buy and the Lenovo warranty from Provantage. Provantage called to ask for my serial number and they did all the processing. Now when I log onto the Lenovo support site it shows my extended warranty (2yrs in-home + Accidental Damage) as well as the free 1 yr "std" warranty.
-
Just a note, at least for me, this version also made no difference for the disconnects - still happening regularly.
-
Any ideas with this issue? Bought the Microsoft Mouse 5000 Notebook mouse Bluetooth. Opened it up tnite and installed. It paired OK....only problem is the left click DOES NOT WORK. I updated the Bluetooth drivers from the Lenovo website and resintalled and still no dice. The damn left click just doesn't work. Kinda of crititcal click...lol....There is no driver from micorosft for Bluetooth as I guess its all depending on the manufacturer...anybody run into this?
scroll works fine...right click fine....movement fine...no left click though -
I finally bought the laptop from USA and it should arrive in 1-2 weeks.
Did anyone saw the Yoga 2 Pro and Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus side-by-side? How do the screens compare regarding contrast? Are they identical?
I ask this because I saw on a forum that someone measured only around 450:1 for the Yoga and around 750:1 for the Ativ, and the difference seems pretty large (I presume the blacks are not as black on the Yoga). For the Yoga I couldn't find a review yet that measured contrast ( notebookcheck.net will probably release a review soon though). -
Have you tried connecting the mouse to another computer? It might be a problem with the mouse maybe.

Try setting the mouse for left-handed use... that should reverse the functionality of the L and R buttons... if the left button functions as "right-button-mode", then it's not the physical switch that's at fault, but rather, it is an issue with the software.

anyone tried streaming with WIDI to 1080p TV?
or is using native instruments traktor pro? -
I am interested in this as well, I have not been able to get WiDi to work yet. Not sure if it is the Y2P or the Netgear NTV300SL, have not had either on WiDi before I got this Y2P.
-
Well, I talked to Lenovo after trying to fix my brightness issue(goes to100% brightness after a reboot) and the weird noise when I put my Y2P to charge. They suggested to do a clean wipe with the one key recovery, but the issues didn't go away! The tech said that if that didn't fix it, I would have to send it in to get it repaired. So I either get it repaired or return it. I don't know yet which of the two I'm going to do(I also put 2 yr accidental insurance too, so I guess they would have to re-embers me for that too). This stinks. It all started right after I did a clean wipe of the system with the one key recovery. I didn't like it at all! So weird.
-
I finally realized that I was just not having as good an experience as everyone else here, and returned mine to best buy after using it for 4 weeks. I still had a couple weeks left before my return deadline but just wasn't worth it anymore. No matter what I did, original WIFI card or the Intel AC card I got, the wireless drops were just too frequent. Since I'm in IT and do most of my job in remote desktop sessions, this was just totally unusable for me. Wipes, different drivers, nothing seemed to matter. The color didn't bug me that much (until I fired up my old Surface Pro and saw how bright white could be again) but the trackpad issues I had and the wireless drops just made it too frustrating. I liked the form factor though, so I'll be trying out the Thinkpad Yoga now instead to see if that works.
Thanks everyone in here for the ideas and suggestions I've been able to glean through this thread.josetheman37 likes this. -
So is anyone else experiencing wireless drops like JDThrid? I am close to biting the bullet on this one but if this is a problem I might just hold back because I need stable wifi.
-
My WiFi is fine. Keep in mind that people who aren't experiencing problems tend to keep silent, and are probably in the vast majority.
-
Damn that sucks. As you see in my previous post, mine got borked just because I did a clean wipe! My wifi was working fine. Talked to tech support and they couldn't fix it either so I went ahead and called CS and to exchange it and decided to take my chances and exchange it for another one.
-
Tried the mouse on work computer...same thing. also that left handed trick did not work. Think I got a bum mouse. Returning to amazon. Maybe get another msoft 5000 or try another brand. Like that Logitech sleek one ofr ultrabooks but that is 100 bucks...no way for a mouse...that is crazy.
-
I still don't understand why my machine got borked(tried doing another wipe, tried different drivers for the display, toggled the settings, etc) . But nothing worked. I thought I could live with it,, but I kept having to toggle my power settings and that noise that it made while charging could be heard from 10 ft away! I had done the BIOS update previously, so I don't if it's related. So be careful if you have to wipe your Yoga. Hopefully it's an isolated incident.
-
Before I received my computer, I was thinking of starting fresh with a new setup of Windows+software+etc... but when I got the computer, I realized that I could live with what it had installed and just dump out some apps and some programs.
The only thing I did is dump the D: drive, which contained McAfee and the drivers (yes, I did back things up from that partition).
The space that I saved from deleting drive D:, I reallocated in the C: drive space, after which I split the C: drive space, by adding a larger D: drive called Data.
I always keep my data on a separate partition and change the Windows pointers for the libraries to point to different directories on that partition (ie. Favorites or Documents). This way, I can just do a backup of the Data drive very frequently and less frequently for the System/Boot partition.
Thus far, there are no real issues with the computer, and I've been testing it as much as possible.
Are you sure the sound you heard was not a system "beep" that coincided with something you were doing at that moment? -
It's not a beep, it's a constant noise while the system is completely off and charging. It goes away once it's powered up or by disconnecting the power cord.
-
The way I fixed my Bluetooth issues was to disable the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in device manager. Haven't dropeed my Bluetooth mouse the rest of the day. Others have had similar success doing this with the WiFi as well.
Y2J -
Did you have the new BIOS update installed before you wiped your PC? Thanks.

Hey guys. New to this thread. Picked up a Yoga 2 Pro i7 from Bestbuy on Friday. For some reason all the 4k videos I've tried to watch in Chrome are choppy but they work great in IE. Any ideas?
-
From what I have heard, Windows 8.1 is optimized for IE currently. All of the other browsers are not playing too well right now with Windows 8.1, specialy on a high resolution screen like the Y2PRO. I only use IE Explorer right now on my Y2PRO because it currently offers the best experience when it comes to pinch to zoom, page loading, etc.
-
This is what I learned, the hard way: Chrome running in Windows 8 mode is fraught with bugs, at least for me. I was ready to throw in the towel, but discovered if you go to Chrome settings>relaunch in desktop mode, it works like it should. You can always go back and relaunch in Windows 8 mode. Hope this helps. I refuse to be forced to use IE, and Firefox seems to work fine also.
-
I wiped mine this morning before returning it. Wiped it there times actually, first the quick wipe, then the secure wipe. It worked fine after both wipes, then I did the final wipe and powered it off at the first prompt for language. So you may just have had an isolated problem.
I had both the single and dual band Intel cards set for this as well, but it had no impact on my wireless dropping. I thought maybe it was just an issue with it on my Apple Airport Extreme, but it did it on my Uverse wireless as well as various Belkin, Netgear, Cisco, and Fortinet access points at various clients.
Yes I did. -
Here's a screenshot -- not sure what kind of view you were looking for, if there's some kind of project you'd like to see, let me know. (Seems to work nicely on the Y2P, but I'm working mostly in Crossworks currently, haven't really had cause to use it yet.. I expect to do so sometime in the coming weeks, so I should get a better idea then.)
-
Update: After I came back from work, I kept messing with my Yoga, and it stopped going onto 100% brightness ! OK, problem 1 solved, but I still have the weird noise when it is powered down and charging. It goes away after a while by itself, but it's too annoying to have it in my room so I'm charging it in the living room where my fish tank makes plenty of noise. I already talked to Lenovo about exchanging my unit, but have not received a confirmation email? Has anyone here returned a PC to Lenovo? Now I'm scared that if they send me another one, it may have different issues! My WIFI and colors are great!
This is what I'm afraid of about getting an exchange. There seems to be some of these Yogas that no matter what you do, the WIFI just simply wont work. The one I have in my hand has had zero issues with WIFI, but I have the issue with the charging noise. Maybe I should just live with the noise, which sounds ridiculous too. This is the problem with being an early adopter with any product. Heck, I don't know is it's even too late, since Lenovo told me that they would send me one ASAP when I talked to CS after getting a case # from the tech department, but I have yet to see any email confirmation of this. -
Thanks a lot, this screenshot is enough, I just wanted to know how VS handles the resolution. It really does look nice so Yoga 2 Pro it is!

Hi everyone, just got my I7/8/256 Y2P from BB last night. So far I've had no issues, except for the yellow, and my WiFi switched to limited twice (I have the AC 5GHz card in the mail so not worried about it for now).
My question is regarding the Energy Manager - what a heck is the purpose of this software, other than to "fix" the yellow issue? The power plans like daily or stable do not make much sense to me, since they do not allow the computer to go to sleep, and anyway, if I'm not worried about the yellow too much, is there any advantage in running the Energy Manager over just a balanced mode?
Really enjoying the machine so far, the value for price is awesome! -
Anyone know if you can run this thing in a dock mode of sorts? I haven't found a way to be able to totally disable the built-in screen and only use an external monitor when the lid is closed. Maybe I am just missing something. I may end up just using this on my desk in tent mode with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but I have been using a Dell S2340T Touch screen monitor/dock with my Surface Pro that I replaced with the Yoga 2 Pro.
-
The WiFi limited connectivity issue will probably show up under sustained heavy network traffic, and probably more than just connecting to your ISP. It may require higher bandwidth traffic to network storage/another computer/etc. A good example would be doing a hard drive backup via WiFi.
For just regular internet browsing, the issue may not be apparent. -
There are some keys on the Y2P keyboard that may help:
1. F10/Toggle the display between computer and external monitor
2. F9/Turn off the backlight of the built-in display (LCD) -
While I did get the drops with both the single and dual band cards in mine more often (i.e. every 2 to 5 minutes) under heavy load (i.e. copying a mulit gig file to my windows home server over the wireless), both my cards still suffered the drops even when doing nothing but browsing the web with no other network activity happening...
-
Did you go into advanced power settings and turn off the "Maximum Battery Life" option? You want Maximum Performance option under WiFi.
-
That was the first thing I did beginning of November. Made no difference whatsoever.
-
Well, knock on wood but I haven't noticed any WiFi problems today, including copying some large files to my Time Capsule. It is slower overall than my Surface Pro 2 on 5GHz, but that's to be expected with 2.4GHz congestion and 2 baby monitors on the same frequency. Once I get the new AC card, I'm hopeful it will be just as fast.
-
Just to reiterate which exact card is everyone ordering? Can someone direct me to a page where someone explains the process? I'm searching as well.
Thanks! -
I uninstalled McAfee first thing, but still have the huge McAfee folder on the D drive, been wondering if it's ok to just manually delete that (also wondering why it wasn't deleted when I uninstalled McAfee)
