If your system didn't come with a backup set of the drivers I would recommend downloading "Double Driver" and make your own set. Here's a link to it -> Double Driver Free Download - Drivers Manager

My wife got a Y2P this past weekend. It's a sweet machine. I was really impressed with the keyboard and the screen.

TV is on the correct input. Checked. Yoga act like you said. Duplicate changes resolution to 1920x1080 automatically, but no picture on TV. ???

Is the TV using the correct HDMI input?

If so, try a different TV (easy to accomplish with a laptop)...

I tried it many times in the past. On the Y2Pro, I had to start the task as an administrator for it to actually complete.

    I had no other issues.

Input is correct. Also tried another newer TV support with 1920x1080. Same thing. No picture. Yoga says that it sees TV and resolution drops down automatically, but no picture on TV.

Have you tried rebooting (not sleep, actual restarting) Windows while the HDMI cable is plugged in? I've seen other Lenovo models have a similar problem where it's detected only if the cable is plugged in during boot.

I just went to computerstore. They tested cable ja adapter. No picture to tv. They tested also to the computer. Picture appears. They try also cable with normal HDMI --> microHDMI. It works normally. But not with the adapter. Adapter works with computer screen. ??

    Hi everyone,

So I think that my problem is probably not specific to yoga 2 pros, but here goes anyways...

I am unable to view quicktime videos in internet explorer, in particular the apple trailer website (probably the only site that I ever need quicktime for). I have installed quicktime on my y2p but when I go to the videos, all I get is a dimmed screen, no video or sound. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling quicktime but that didn't do anything. I also have chrome and firefox installed and they work fine with quicktime but I would really like to use internet explorer for all of my browsing needs; I find it pretty lightweight and it overall I think it looks better than others at the moment (just my opinion! not trying to start an argument of which browser is better!).

Does anybody have any suggestions of how I can get quicktime videos to work with internet explorer? I know I could always go to a different site or use a different browser, etc, but I don't like when things aren't working properly!

Thanks for any help in advance!

    Dan

Everyone interested in Y2P should check out Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro community I've started on Google+

    https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/106580418703289603839

I bought the Mauve/Grey sleeve mentioned by this guy and it's awesome. Especially with the equally awesome 20V 83Wh external power bank (see link below). Internal battery is about 53Wh or so, so it can charge the Y2P fully and then some.

    XTPower® MP-23000A Powerbank - mobiler externer: Amazon.de: Computer & Zubehör

There's plenty of photos of both and together. :)

Civ V worked awesomely out of the box, so to speak. I have resolution at 1080, since otherwise it's way too hard to see the small stuff in the right corner of the status bar. The game just scales to 768 resolution when installed (auto detect default).

I have the Y2P Slot-in case and I really like it. It provides protection from scratches and works really well to protect the keyboard while in tablet mode. It is not padded though, so you may want a padded sleeve or padded laptop bag to provide additional protection.

Just got my Y2P over the weekend, after a little getting used to Win 8.1 I love it so far. Connected to a 32 1080p HDTV with an HDMI adapter cable from Radio shack with no problems aside from playing with resolution (1920x1080) and size settings. Running over my wireless connection until I get a USB ethernet adapter.

Just a comment. Speedtest has nothing to do with your intranet wireless connection. I get a kick out of people using it as a test for their laptop. If your laptop is functioning correctly you will almost always get the same ISP speeds whether you're wired or wireless. I can pull 50mbps anywhere in my apartment on speedtest.net. Wireless N over 5ghz lets me hit 500-600mbps intranet. Don't use speedtest to test your new laptop. :)

had been considering this, new dell xps 15 with haswell and asus ux301/302.

as of now..after going through all threads of users and issues...seems like yoga 2 pro is the most reliable laptop and the motion control will really be of use to me for presentations as i am in advertising and do lot of presentations. (does it work properly or just a glitchy gimmick btw?)

also...had some questions if someone can pls answer..will be grateful

    - what is the average battery life you guys get on this laptop at 60% brightness?

    - how is the screens brightness and contrast for watching movies?

-how loud are the speakers for watching movies (watching movie on a date ;) )

    - how is the touchpad's gesture response? fluid or laggy?

any other known issues to look for when unboxing like screen light bleeding??

Metro is such a pain sometimes.

Not really specific to our laptop, but does anyone know how to stop the screen from opening the metro menu everytime one's cursor gets to close to the edge of the screen? Gets annoying after awhile.

Anyone notice the latest version of Chrome doesn't work anymore? Prior I had "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" checked in the compatibility settings for Chrome then I went into flags and turned on HIDPI support. This worked pretty well. Now That flag is no longer available (it says this experiment is not available for your platform). Now your only choice is to uncheck that setting in compatibility mode and the result is really fuzzy test in Chrome. Guess I'm going back to IE until Chrome gets better HIDPI support.

I do not have any issues with my regular build or canary build of chrome.

I did notice I was having similar problems with Chrome when my resolution wasn't set to the highest setting.

If you're running the newest version of Chrome/Canary and have your Yoga set at max (3200 by 1800) and don't make any configuration changes (i.e. don't check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" in compatibility in Google chrome properties) then your font will be fuzzy. If you do check that box then it won't scale and everything will be tiny. The only current solution is to make that registry change per those instructions.

    Hi,

I've had the yoga for more than 4 months now and had no problem until now. Somehow there's no sound coming from my speaker or my headphone. My volume is turned on high and is not on mute. Does anyone know why this is? Please help. I might have hit some button or something I'm not sure. But if someone know how to fix this problem please help me fix it. Thanks.

The new update out today seems to have resolved some of the scaling issues. I am now able to run resolution at 3200x1800 at 250 percent, and programs look the same as when I was set at 1920x1080 at 150 percent.

Well, I have been using my Vaio for the past 5 years....a mother board , hard drive, battery, and fan later I figured it is time to upgrade.

Ok, I've rolled back the resolution to 1920X1080 and changed the setting for Chrome to not use the Hi DPI settings and it seems to be just fine so far....

Let me know if you notice weird font spacing issues after you enable this. I am kind of pulling my hair out. Things got really messed up after the Windows 8.1 Update 1 that rolled out yesterday. The text spacing is off, especially noticeably in Gmail. Let me know if you can reproduce this.

So I got the Yoga 2 Pro from Best Buy...i7 256gb ssd.

It seems like the 3200X1800 was just too much and I have rolled it back to 1920x1080. Is there any disadvantage to doing that?

On the Lenovo website they are selling the Yoga 2 with the i7 and 256gb ssd.

I am basically running a Y2P like the Y2...would I better off with the regular Yoga 2?

I did the recent Win8.1 Update 1 today. I like the changes and everything seems to be working fine or better except for Chrome. I was using the Developer edition but after the Update, the entire program looks a bit fuzzy. Program icons, fonts, everything. I've reset the zoom to zero. No effect. Its just not sharp. In an effort to correct this, I uninstalled my previous version and re-install the most recent version, but got no change. I'm currently running Version 34.0.1847.116 m.

    Thanks,
    Rich

    I agree!

Chrome does a horrible job with scaling. The only thing that works is standard resolution with 200% scaling. 250% makes Chrome look really blurry. Same goes for 1080p res with 150% scaling.

Also fonts and graphics in general look way better on Firefox and IE.

Can you identify if some application or service is hammering the CPU to cause the fans to run? Or do you suspect it is a hardware issue?

I have my laptop connected to a docking station and I'm having a strange problem. The cursor dissappears all the time, but gets visible in 1 second when I move my mouse.

What's even more strange is that this is only happening while the laptop is closed. If I use the laptop screen as an extended monitor, everything works fine...

High DPI support is finally here in Chrome.

Use the Chrome beta channel version, then set the high-dpi setting in the registry.

This has been in the Chrome Canary build a month or so, and now is working in the Beta builds.

I didn't have to change anything...

Reset the resolution to 3200 x whatever and allowed Chrome to use the dpi settings and bam...it doesn't look all weird.

    Thanks!

    Edit

The text still looks crisper in IE than Chrome...

I just got the Y2P yesterday. A lot of light bleeding but I am ok with it so far. Does anybody know how to make the backlit keyboard turn off (sleep) when not in use (like when I am using the mousepad? I know it's the LED but I still want to prolong the life of the light.

It will be the same as IE if you make the registry change. As long as you are using one of the dev channels.

I'm having the exact same problem, this afternoon i noticed the fan was on max speed when i woke it up and now I can't get it to stop. Tried restarting it, installed all updates, changing power plans, EM profiles. Task manager not showing any CPU intensive processes.

I tried blowing into the fan grills and still no luck.

Edit: nvm, I shut it down and blew into the fan grills. Back to normal fan speed. Weird lol

If it was really debree causing the problem it's not the first time, I got an eye lash or something stuck in there before that was causing a buzzing sound, fixed it the same way by blowing into the fan.

Managed to have a play with one of these today in town. Very impressed. Almost tempted to sell the Sony Vaio Duo 11 to grab one?! It was thinner than I thought it would be, plus the screen looked very nice indeed. Didn't get much of a chance to play around with the different screen orientations unfortunately as the machine was plugged in and tied down with antitheft devices. Still, a very nice laptop in general. Whats the normal battery usage people are getting out of this thing? The one downside of the Sony Duo is its poor battery life...
