Two finger tap does not work unless you enable it through registry, but everything else works much better in my opinion. Even has reverse scroll options which some are asking for. Two finger scroll works flawlessly on Chrome, as well as all functions for tablet modes

Lenovo person in the yellow color thread in Lenovo forums has confirmed that they are not changing any hardware (display for example) for future Y2Ps. Y2Ps bought in October are exactly same devices as ones bought in November or even in future. All fixes are made by software.

And like mentioned few post earlier the target to get some fixes to software is 11/8.

From the same link you find the confirmation of HW staying same on all units.

:confused:OK I just checked my credit card and found out that Lenovo first did one pre-authorization of $1381.33 on 11/4, which is what I'm suppose to pay, then made another pre-authorization of $101.40 11/6? So I called to ask, and was told since the first pr-auth was about to expire, they are going to charge the 2 yr warranty and the laptop separately, but it will all add to the $1381.33. Then the guy said that it was going to ship in a couple of days(my est. on my order says 11/21), so I got transferred to another department and was told that the original date still stands(11/21). I'll have to keep an eye out for these guys. Any one else experience this?

Ordered this exact model on Oct. 27, My order status says that it's expected to ship 11/18 and deliver on 11/25. Those dates have been moved back twice. Originally stated would ship on 11/5.

So I'm guessing that no one here has received an orange version Y2PRO? Is the orange version made out of plastic or carbon fiber?

I just checked out the laptop at Best Buy and honestly, unless your work requires you to have such accurate colors, I don't really see the big deal with the yellow issue. Yeah, it's there and of course it would be great if they fixed it, but ... it's easy to forget. Actually, it probably would have been taken me quite a while to notice it had I not read the countless pages of complaints about it online.

I'm actually more bugged with the backlight on the N button being considerably brighter than everything else on the keyboard. I don't think that's as easy to ignore.

Just came back from Broadway(Hongkong's largest local electronic shop), and finally had a chance to look at the yellow issue in person. It is not much a problem unless you use a graphic handling software like Paint in this case and compare the yellow with other machines. But when you do compare, the shocked looking face from the sales rep. and their "technician“ tells everyting, as they deeply believed that YOGA2 has the best screen in the world.

The Lenovo reps are full of it. I think they are instructed to say anything possible to prevent someone from cancelling. I was told on 10/31 that mine would ship no later than 11/6 (after ordering on 10/16) and last night I was told that there was no indication it would ship prior to 11/13 and that may not even happen.

The other thing I noticed is I've not once encountered a Lenovo rep with a common name. Dartanian, Arturos, Tiniqua, Shaniquez.... It's very interesting.

I spoke to several reps when I ordered mine - they all had common names (and US accents ) like Sarah, Brian, etc... I think it depends on when you call or how busy they are. A lot of companies offload call to call centers after typical business hours or if they are experiencing high call volume. I ended up cancelling my order at Lenovo and getting a Best Buy model. They didn't give me any grief, but that was just my experience.

I ordered Nov2, my ship date has been pushed to January! What the hell, there are no customizations, why is this taking so long? I'm going to cancel if they don't get their act together.

What? Are you kidding me? That better not happen to me. I ordered mine November 4th with shipping date November 23rd. Did you order a clementine one?

I just checked my order details and it still says shipping Nov 23rd and deliver date Dec 2nd (of course it's all estimate).

So now I'm really confused. I called in and cancelled my order on 11/6 after I was told there was no way it would ship before 11/13 (originally ordered on 10/16). Now I just got an email that it shipped!?

This was for an Orange i5/8/256.

Not sure if it'll make you feel any better, but my Clementine i5 shipped today despite an estimated ship date of 11/14. Then again I ordered it on 10/16, so it definitely wasn't speedy.

I cancelled an order (i5; reordered an i7 with the EMAIL code) and they said it wasn't so much a cancellation as a cancellation request, that may or may not go through before it ships. Mine did, but it sounds like yours didn't. Result: you'll have to go through the return process, though I'm pretty sure they pay for return shipping and everything.

What that indicated to me was that Lenovo.com is a US distributor for Lenovo China, meaning that they aren't using the *same* system, but rather 2 systems that speak to each other.

Tiny nick on back right out of the box but no dead pixels and light bleed is minimal. Keep or return?

One of the problems with this kind of device is that you really are playing "light bleed roulette". You never know until you turn it on whether you will be one of the lucky ones with solid black edges or one of the cursed with spotlight light bleed across the bottom.

Lucky for me my unit has minimal light bleed and no dead pixels, however, it does have a 1/8 inch chip in the coating on the back. Of course no one likes a new item to have any defects at all and I would normally return it; however, since i won the light bleed lottery with this one the next 3 I get might be terrible. With all likelihood I will ding or chip this myself in the next 6 months so I'm thinking maybe I should count my blessings and just keep this one. Still bugs me to have a blemish on a brand new device though.

What do you guys think? Keep or return?

Aside from the yellow issues, my Y2P has a perfect screen. I would be perfectly happy with it aside from a few small build issues. The rubber surrounding the screen has two imperfections (one gouge about 1/16 of an inch and uneven application on the top of the left hand side of the screen) and I noticed tonight that the back corner has chipped paint on the bottom at the hinge. My wife laughs at me because she wouldn't care about such things since they really aren't too noticeable. However I see them every time I open the unit. I've decided to return it tonight and I went ahead and ordered a replacement with overnight shipping. My recommendation is that if it will bother you at all...I'd take the chance and see if a replacement is better...you can always return the replacement too if it is defective as well. Why settle for imperfection?

On a side note, I noticed that Best Buy updated their return policy around November 1. It no longer stipulates that online orders are returnable 15 days from their receipt. It states that it is 15 days from the "original purchase date." I called Customer Service and they confirmed that mine is still covered by the old policy. However, I'm not sure what this new policy means going forward...hence the reason I chose overnight shipping to buy as much time as possible. If this new unit has problems, I'm taking it back and getting a Thinkpad Yoga instead when they are released.

I picked mine up on the 4th and they said that the laptop is covered under their holiday return policy meaning I can return it as late as after new years.

My understanding is that only applies to gift purchases, If you bought it for your own use then the 15 day policy applies Now whether they will honor the holiday policy for non-gift purchases...well we may get lucky, but with BB's track record I'm not going to count on it.

That is interesting. The one I returned to BB had an imperfection on the lid behind the screen too. I decided to return it because I wanted the I7 256/8GB version from Lenovo, which I did order. The one I returned was perfect too(WiFi , etc.) I7 256/8GG version.

    Thanks for your response.

I think I have decided to go with a Skinomi Carbon Fiber Skin anyway so the small imperfection is somewhat moot. From what I have seem this skin will look awesome and also protect.

Coming from the Surface Pro as my former device, I am loving the size of this screen along with the razor sharp text. Yeah I'm spoiled now. 1080p is simply not good enough anymore 😊

But the thing I'm enjoying the most over my Surface Pro? The unlimited viewing angles. That is just so so so great.

That's it. I am spoiled forever. This qHD screen is like dating an insanely beautiful woman. From now on women who used to seem attractive to me will be plain by comparison. Text with zero jaggies is a visual pleasure.

The yellow thing? Since I tend to turn the gamma down as low as it will go to get the blackest text possible I'm used to yellows being a bit darker than usual. A complete non issue for me.

Same here. After I returned my Y2PRO, I went looking for another PC, and came back to BB to check out the other PCS's. After taking a closer look at the Y2Pro screen, I immediately noticed that it just sweeps the floor with the other screens! It's in a league of its own. This forced me to go and order the Clementine version.

How many people are having serious light bleed issues? My Y2P came with a little chip in the coating on the back and I would like to exchange it but feel fortunate that this unit has no light bleed or dead pixels and concerned if I exchange it for this minor defect the new one might not be as good.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Also, thinking about getting a Skinomi Carbon Fiber skin (which would solve the chip problem). Anyone have experience with that on their Y2P?

I ordered the i7/500gb/8gb/silver on 10/19. Original ship date was 10/25. On 10/25, it changed to 11/5. On 11/4, it changed to 11/22. Yesterday the order status website was down. Today I checked and now it says 12/24 ship date. Crazy!

I ordered my i5/8/256/orange Y2P on 10/17 and after various wandering estimated shipping dates it "shipped" on Friday and boarded a very large aircraft in Shanghai this morning for a (UPS estimated) Thursday delivery.

Not true, I just ordered one from Costco today. It has a i7-4500U processor and Intel HD 4400 graphics. That's the new one, not previous generation.

The Y2P and the XPS and my final choices for an ultrabook convertible and I can't make up my mind. I guess I will decide by getting both in my hands at the same time.

Dell's XPS 12 Haswell is available now New XPS 12 2-in-1 Ultrabook

I played with a Y2P in BestBuy today, and I must say... as the owner of the original Yoga, I am really disappointed in the Y2P keyboard quality. It does finally have backlit, but the keys lacked the same curve and depth/travel.

Order date 10/23 original shipping date 11/6.
This has been delayed a number of times with the latest now being 12/27!
I also received an email from Lenovo today , a week after it was supposed to ship stating:-

Our online order status tool displays the latest information on your order therefore a revised estimated ship date is not included in this notification"

    I will probably cancel today.

This is just the required notification under US mail order law that something you ordered is not going to be available when they told you it would be. The "within 30 days" is all boilerplate and has nothing to do with how much longer you would actually have to wait. They're just required by law to give you the option to cancel at the point they can't deliver on their original promise.

I got the exact same email on 10/26 and my machine shipped on 11/8 (13 days later).
