Hey Dreamer, should we be happy???? :D
Just like I predicted, The FireGL V5700 is not so powerful at all. Some cool features are nice, the switchable GPU is a plus. However, it's not worth for me to return my HP 8710w. :D
    My HP is still better.

Hey, Don't blaspheme in here! :D

Smasung screens aren't necessarily "bad". Johnny got the same screen with his HP and he doesn't have any problems with it. Plus, Samsung is one of the biggest screens manufacturers which makes it somehow unavoidable anyway.

So you got your HP? Send me a PM about how it is... :p

It's on its way, I'll shoot you a pm as soon as I get it. :D

I know, but the first time I posted it no one answered me. So I thought that I was wrong, that it's a PDF showing some earlier version of design or things like that. But now we have a real W500 dissected which confirms my fear and actually, based on the PDFs, this stupid layout is valid for EVERY thinkpad except SL and X.

This is basically a downgrade for those in the market for a 14" laptop.

Weaker graphics: Radeon 3470 compared to Nvidia FX570
Bigger size: Huge bezel and loads of extra space around keyboard compared to the T61p

    T61p 14" = win
    T400 = loose

What are you talking about? the T400 is not by any mean compared to the T61p.

    @ Han Bao Quan

Well If you were going to buy the T61p 14", then this new upgrade is actually a downgrade:

The t61p 14" beats the t400 in size (the T400 is alot bigger, and has unnecessary wide body for the screen size)
and probably also beats it in graphics (Radeon 3470 probably performs worse or on par with quadro FX570M 128 mb version).

So after waiting a full year, lenovo has made the options for a 14" worse....

What we need now is a W400, any chances for that?

As I said, the T400 is a replacement for the T61 14''. It was never mean to be compared to a workstation model. So your statement about the T400 being inferior to a mobile workstation doesn't make any sense.

True, but it doesn't change the fact that lenovo have just downgraded their best 14" model.

If you want 14" the only choice you have is worse than the old top of the line 14", the t61p

I now have to wait and see if they come out with W400

They may, or they may not.
As for the downgrading part, well they never downgraded it, they just simply discontinued it.
