A: Lenovo offers an employee purchase program where access is based on the employee’s last name and company serial number. Employees are only allowed to share this program with friends and family. Unfortunately, an employee’s name and serial number were widely shared on some public sites and discussion forums. The number of orders placed using the Meyers EPP access were small and this incident is irrelevant to the outstanding issues.

 

Seriously, people should not be bringing so much attention to something that is *potentially* illegitimate. What kind of retard would bring it up to Lenovo, quite probably sabotaging the whole thing?

 

i find it interesting that they didnt really say anything negative...if anything, this is more a confirmation that most people will get their orders

Ah, so my order's ship date was finally changed to 8/02. Some hapless Lenovo rep will definitely be hearing from me tomorrow!

well i found out my order was delayed last night. finally got the delay email tonight though. typical stuff--order will ship in 1 to 30 days blah blah blah.

Well, the bright side of the mention of Meyer on the blog is that Lenovo would have a hard time to ambush people about their warranties. Actually, I think now that because Lenovo has shown they know about the orders made with Meyer's info, Lenovo can't dispute the validity of the purchase and warranty contracts later if they don't cancel the order now.

Mine was delayed to 6/28, so its not that 8/2 is the EPP holding date, lol. Still, I will probably be calling later

 

Good news about the warranty.

EPP + FW is saving me $308...not sure if thats worth waiting 2 months to get a machine.

By the by..just did a test checkout on Lenovo w/o EPP, and even that ESD is showing 7/31/07....validates the EPP not affecting ship dates.

 

Anyone notice that using the Meyer info to log in on the EPP page doesn't work anymore?

 

I'll be damned. It worked this morning, but yep they just nixed it.

Well since both of my EPP orders were cancelled I used the SPP "triple discount" promo that was recently held to place another order. This SPP order has not been cancelled yet. What's funny is that the SPP order was actually cheaper than the EPP orders that I placed.

Probably shareholder code combined with Fatwallet and Tailormade.

 

The "triple discount" was a special promotion that was running for the SPP program. It was something like an extra 5% off T series and 10% off X series.

 

yes, the pricing was less for the x-series than using the EPP code.

My original ship date was 6/11, so it ended up only being delayed by about a week or so.

 

Order arrived today, laptop in perfect health.

My order is still alive too. Don't know when it will ship though, if ever.

 

better that than to have your warranty cancelled 6 months later (as has indeed happened) and then have a motherboard failure afterward (as has also happened).

 

better than getting hit by a meteor or sodomized by a snake too (....I wouldn't know.....)

Well I'll keep the forum updated throughout regarding warranty. In so far as I can tell, there is no mention of EPP anywhere..not my invoice, lenovo.com warranty page, nowhere...

I'm going to purchase additional warranty soon so that will tell us if any problems arise....to be continued.

 

So, after a long journey, I finally received my Meyer-ordered T61. Couldn't be happier that I received such a great product at a price that no one's non-EPP order could match. In regards to the warranty, hopefully nothing bad comes my way, but I feel I could definitely fight my way out of a revoked warranty if necessary. Until then, I'll enjoy my extra 15% off.

wait, so if I order a lenovo laptop with the EPP it will get cancelled/ dewarrantied? or is this a specific username/accesscode that leaked on the net and everyone is using so lenovo is cancelling?
