whats your X61 estimate ship date?

Well, MINE was delivered today - as expected - except they missed us and thus could not drop it off... I'm going to call them and see if I can go to the center and pick it up this evening.

It says delivery exception, could not drop off because "THE RECEIVER WAS UNAVAILABLE TO SIGN ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT".

I am trying to get Lenovo to stop deliveries so we can go pick it up instead, UPS won't do it because the contract is Lenovo's.

 

Looks like we'll be getting our laptops about the same time.

 

Heck, you'd probably get it faster... I've been on hold with Lenovo for over an hour now. They just never pick up the friggin phone!!

they rescheduled delivery date to 07/31/2007.

 

Today is a horrible day to call.
First of all, Mondays are always busy.
Secondly, their system is swamped with calls thanks to the "price mistake" going on over the weekend on their R61 machines.

 

My status still shows it's in Kentucky. I doubt I'll receive it tomorrow.

Update:
Delivery date got pushed back two days to 8/1. LOL That's two days at customs. Way to go UPS.

Delivery date just got changed again back to 7/31. Make up your mind UPS.

 

I'm showing the same thing too (but I'm in San Francisco).

Actually, I think our packages just left KY. Since Louisville, KY is in the eastern time zone the departure scan is really 11:18 PM pacific time zone on 7/30. The scan at 11:19 is to show that the package is "in transit to" your destination.

I doubt your package made it to CA in one minute.

Well, i got mine yesterday as expected, I'm pretty sure the whole package weighed less then my old T41.

 

Couldn't get mine since it was delivered too early (before delivery location was opened). I just called UPS and they wouldn't let me pick it up myself unless 3 consecutive delivery attempts have been made. It looks like I'll be getting it tomorrow.

 

Hey guys, got my X61s around 11 this morning and I love it (posting on it now). Unfortunately my 2GB of RAM (and external DVD drive) doesn't get here untill tomorrow, and Vista on 512MB is painful to say the least.

My power adapter also seems to be suffering from the high pitched noise problem, so I'll have to contact lenovo about that, but otherwise I am completely happy with my purchase. I wanted thin, light and mobile and this is the epitome of all three.

 

Hah! I love Newegg. Seeing as all the orders were being shipped sooner than expected I decided to go ahead and order my RAM yesterday. That was at about 11AM. After my laptop got delived I saw the UPS guy drive up about an hour later and I was like "no way, I ordered less than 24 hours ago!" Yes way. Got my RAM and CD-Drive (and in unrelated news, my 22" LCD I ordered for my desktop aswell).

This thing is a machine now and I totally love it.

 

When they left the package they should have left an Infoslip, type the Infoslip number in on the tracking page at UPS.com and it should let you choose different delivery options such as picking it up today.

 

received it today. however, the adapter does have high pitch sound. i will call lenovo later and ask for a new AC

Apologies for bumping up what appeared to be a fading thread... but didn't feel like this merited a thread of its own!

Well, I'm not a happy camper: I ordered my X61 on July 27, original ESD was August 15, now September 3. I was hoping against all odds that my order would be the rare one that shipped without delay. (When I ordered my T60 wide-screen this Christmas, Lenovo got it out to me in under two weeks, from date of purchase to date of delivery.) Guess the back-to-school rush is really squeezing their assembly lines.

I hope others who ordered around the same time I did are having better luck!

 

I ordered my x61 tablet on 8/5 and received it 8/14, est ship date was 9/06. It was 2g, BT, intel abg, 80gb, sxga+, 1 g turbo mem. They are definatly shipping some things! I didn't order a base or anything special other than the screen.

I get the impression that the screen is tough to get as I just went back to the site to get some specs on it and the sxga+ is no longer an option on the x61tablet.

Sounds like lenovo just-in-time supply chain isn't really.

lenovo charged me $ but didnt gimme that.

 

I don't know exactly where to find the turbo-memory control pannel, but there is a "intel flash cache logic chip" installed in pci slot 2. So I assume that I got what I paid for.

Ah, I see. So you ordered the tablet--I ordered the x61 non-tablet version. Maybe it's the non-tablet versions that are back-logged only?

Congrats on getting your Thinkpad so early, though!

 

My mistake, I assumed x61 shipping problems were for both the tablet and regular, they are so similar to my newbie (to lenovo) eyes.

Either way, I got great service. My extra stylus was sent a couple days after ordering. It took about a week. My x61(t) was sent overnight. I still can't get over that one day it's in China and the next MORNING it's in my hands. Small world.

I feel terrible for those still waiting. I know I wasn't happy to see an expected ship date a month after my order, though I assumed it wouldn't take that long and lenovo was just compensating for the unexpected.

 

I ordered my x61s originally on 6/27 received the laptop on 7/20, but the laptop had a dead pixel. Re-ordered the replacement X61s on 7/25 and for two weeks the ship date said 8/11 then changed to 8/13 and now the status says the ship date is 8/30…this makes no sense.

 

I ordered my x61 on 08/10 and the esd is 08/29. I'd would assume (by reading others posts) that they must not have a part for yours in stock.
It may have something to do with the Ultra-connect antenna. That seemed to have disappeared off of my configured system.

 

I just ordered an X61. How are the ship dates now? I got an expected date of 10/10. Ordered last week.
