who also recently ordered an t61 or t61p

I ended up canceling my above order. I called today and was told it was scheduled to ship on 4/21, but I no longer trust their estimates as I was also told before over the phone that it would ship on 4/7 (that was around 3/31). By the time I might have received my order, it could only be around a month until the T400 would start to ship. So I decided to just wait to see what is released in early June (maybe something with better battery life). If Lenovo still has problems filling orders, then I can always go with the dell e-series.

P.S. I was ordering from the U.S.

Thank you, I was a little confuse because I usually buy from Dell; Dell has a different order system that includes the in process, building, and shipped.

Looks like my T61P is having a nice Alaskan vacation without me. As of 4/12 it was scanned leaving Anchorage, but hasn't been heard from since. Interestingly enough, there was not an arrival scan in Anchorage, only a departure scan.

 

Relax. Mine is keeping it company.

I'm worried about my T61 widescreen order. I selected ThinkPad A/B/G for the wireless and it's no longer offered, and my system hasn't shipped yet. Hope it's not going to be an issue

You guys are really lucky. but I'm not. The T61p that i ordered on March 27 is still in process and the estimated ship date is 5/16 which really sucks.

I'm scared that it's something to do with the fact that I chose ThinkPad wireless on the T61 because it's now no longer offered. t

 

I also ordered 4/8 with 4/25 ESD. It is still in process and has not been shipped out yet. I wonder how come people who order after us and before us both have got their laptop shipped before us.

I think that Lenovo has its order tiles up one on top of the others; as new one comes in, the older one stay on the bottom of the list. This is just my hypothesis.

 

From what I've seen, it doesn't even seem to be that sophisticated. It seems that some systems just randomly get held up. Current theory is that 9-cell batteries are holding up orders.

I called a couple of days ago regarding my 3/31 order thinking of canceling and reordering, but I was told that indeed it was the 9-cell battery that was pushing my est ship date out to 5/21.

I placed the order from AZ, US on 3/27, and it's still in process.

 

So how is it that later orders are getting shipped according to some posts but earlier orders are still waiting for batteries?

 

I agree, that's the same reason why I ordered the 6-cell batteries, but it doesn't seem to improve the shipping date. I think it is best if we reorder.

 

Man if I knew I was going have to wait this long I would've just bought retail. Granted its only been a week....maybe I need be more patient.

 

Ya, but most order is filled within a week and if not it does take over a month... I am planning to reorder my T61, and make it a T61p, since i ordered the 14.1" widescreen and now the standard screen is around the same price with a better graphic card.

I ordered a T61 15.4" on 4/9, est. ship date is 4/28. That is a long time. I did get the 9 cell battery so I hope that's not the issue.

 

I'll wait but if they even so much as mention pushing my shipment date, I'm going to Best Buy and getting a P6860-FX.

It has a samsung screen, but honestly I don't see what all the fuss is about. I'm sure the LG screen is a bit better, but unless you're a graphics artist, does it matter? I 'm loving my T61p right now, and I haven't put in my extra ram yet
