$999.43 before tax, $1,071 after tax. balduvianbarbarian, I'm really jealous! I ordered the same day as you did and have the same est. ship date, and mine is still nowhere to be seen! My credit card screwed up though, and Lenovo failed to mention this to me until Tuesday when I called them up. Sigh, if the card had gone through I might have the T61 in my hands now

 

It went for delivery yesterday, but no one was at home.

It is now home - I can't wait to play!!!

 

Lenovo is also having problems canceling my order. As I mentioned I ordered a T61 14w on 3/10, with an ESD of 3/31, which was later pushed back to 4/17, so I canceled on 4/11, and surprise, they ship out the ultrabay battery portion of my order on 4/12. I called today and they said the cancel hadn't gone through for some reason, even though they had a record of my cancellation on 4/11. So I re-canceled. I also noticed that my new ESD of 4/17 had been pushed back yet again until 5/5. At this rate, by the time I received the T61, it probably would have been discontinued.

 

Update:

My T61 just got shipped today... (April 17, 2008) I am sooo happy... I am so happy xD.

The sad part here is that I work for IBM. We don't get any special treatment.

Hey Guys. Sorry to hijack your thread. I ordered a R61 wxga+ with a 9-cell on 04/16/08

The ESD is 5/5/08. But the status says: In process.

It has been like that ever since I placed the order and received an order-confirmation email. Lenovo hasn't taken money from my account as yet.

I feel they still haven't really started on my order. I need the laptop fast, my exams are approaching.

Any comments on how long it still might take? What happens if I cancel my order now? WIll I be charged something? I am planning to just go to a Best Buy store and buy a laptop.

 

There's another thread for R61 ordering, but to answer your question they won't take money out of your account until they're shipping your order. Don't be fooled by some of the posts where people get their laptops shipped in 2-3 days, the average appears to be at least a week and your order will sit in "In Process" until it ships.

 

Errr, I saw the charge for my notebook almost immediately after I hit order. If you don't see them charging your account, give them a call and see if they successfully charged it. In my case, I didn't see the charge on my original credit card. Called them and they told me my card did not authorize the transaction.

 

My laptop is being delivered tomorrow and Lenovo still hasn't charged my card.

 

Yeah, they charged my account immediately after placing the order also. My status still says "In process".

 

Sometimes they will not charge you until after it is delivered. If you haven't been charged 2-3 days after you receive it, then you will want to call them.

I ordered a T61p on 01 Apr 08 and have watched the shipping date slip from 18 Apr to 21 May! I just called Lenovo to ask about the reasons and what I could do to expidite the process. The service rep said the delay was definitely due to the industry-wide shortage of 9-cell batteries. I asked about changing my order from 9-cell to 6-cell and he said that according to his supply chain database, my box was to ship by 25 Apr, and that if I made a change now it would just delay the shipment. So...

Just got my t61p today. Did the mandatory cleanup (albeait really half-assed). I got the Samsung screen, its good but its not great. Theres a lot of bleeding and its a tad bit grainy (nothing to complain about, you really have to be looking for it).
