    Hi,
Is there a good case made specifically for the x220 yet or ones that are confirmed to fit?

I am a big fan of messenger bags. So far I have used two: an old Tom Bihn and a Victorinox Architecture.

The X220 fits very well in both. However, I bought the Victorinox because my Tom Bihn was too old and had the belt clip broken.

I love the Victorinox, it's strong, stylish, and durable. It fits my X220 and its charger, and large notebook or folder, a hard drive, a flash drive, keys, headsets, and a couple of pens.

Although it is pricey ($160) compared to other laptop cases, I don't regret my decision to buy it.

Victorinox Architecture bags are really good, they are tough and the colour of the bag complements that of the Thinkpad.

There's actually two nice long threads on here about sleeves for the 6- and 9-cell versions. If you are interested in a sleeve (or possibly a sleeve with a shoulder strap), you might check those threads.

Have a link to both? I see the one for 9 cell not too far burried, but I went back page by page all the way to April and didnt see another thread. Unfortunately that 9 cell sleeve thread offers no usefull information at all for the 6 cell.

I have a 6 cell X220 inbound. I am interested in this as well. Sleeve more then a full case. I got suckered into the Lenovo sleeve like many others, only to read afterwards it is WAY to big. Now I am on the hunt for a sleeve that will fit this thing like a glove. Unfortunately while I have seen a few threads about the lenovo sleeves not fitting and asking what does around the net, not a single one of them offers any real solution. Surely SOMEONE has to of found something that fits well by now! :D

Ideally I would like to find a ziperless type similar to what is pictured below. I have a similar caselogic sleeve meant for portable dvd players that couldnt fit any more perfect for my netbook (netbook was from when the 10" types very first started rolling out, thus no propper/specific labled sleeves existed yet). I would like to do the same for the X220.

I've seen these (Samsonite Aramon) in real life and like them a lot. Will go back once I get my X220t and see how well they fit. Available in 10.1", 13" and 14", as a sleeve or 'shuttle' (basically a sleeve with a handle and shoulderstrap)

Will do. I was hoping someone else might have already done so, but it doesnt appear to be the case. There are a handfull of what appears to be similar looking sleeves but with slightly different dimensions listed on ebay from the cheap chinese vendors. I may have to pick up an assortment, wait the month for them to come in, and hope that one fits well. I was trying to avoid that, but I dont see any other option at this point since I have not seen a single yes, this case fits a regular non-tablet x220 6 cell perfectly type post anywhere on the internet.

Here is that portable DVD player case my netbook resides in, and what I am trying to achieve with the X220:

Just a couple quick bad shots, and a bit dirty after several yrs constant use in a cargo plane, but you get the idea. Fits absolutely perfect. Not loose at all, not tight either, just fits perfect top to bottom, corner to corner.

That is exactly what I want as well, but I couldn't find one yet. The only one from which I know that it fits the 6-cell perfectly is the Cool Bananas RainSuit P2 (see on Amazon). But I really don't like it in bright red and can't find it in any other colour.

Thank you, I must have been blind as I looked for their website yesterday... They also have this one:

Pretty much exactly what me and c17chief are looking for. I'll drop them an email and ask for measures. But assuming that's the same size as the one with zip, it should be perfectly.

I may place a bet on this one before going the ebay route. After comparing dimensions of other machines said to fit well in the reviews, it looks like it may work. Most the machines have similar depth but just a fraction of an inch less width. Since neoprene has a degree of stretch to it, I think the x220 may be OK without being TOO tight or worse yet not fitting at all.
Amazon.com: ASUS U20A-A1 Thin and Light 12.1-Inch Laptop Neoprene Notebook Flip Top Skin Fit Sleeve (Black/Red): Electronics

This case logic one is also a possibility. Depth should be fine but width might be just short. Again, Neoprene has some stretch to it, but with this type, not only does the zipper not give at all, the seam around the edge is usually beefier and not as elastic as an actual sleeve. I think the X220 just may fit, but IF it does, it may be a little too tight, particularly at the top where it zips up.
    Amazon.com: Case Logic LAPS-111 10 - 11.6 -Inch Netbook Sleeve (Black): Electronics

The bananas ones dont seem to be available this side of the pond.

If anyone finds a snug sleeve please let us all know!

I found that the macbook 13 pro sleeves work alright, but there is some extra space where the notebook can move around. So far those have been the best fit I could find.

I think a zipperless neoprene sleeve made for 11.6" is probably going to be the best bet. I have my x220 now, and for ****s and grins I stuffed it into the sleeve I used for my netbook pictured above. While that sleeve fits good and snug on that 10" netbook, I was able to stuff the x220 into it. It was stretched pretty much to the max and certainly took a bit of work, but it did fit! Not to the extent that I would even consider using the same size, but did it just to see how much stretch there typically is with that style sleeve. So 11.6 is the size I am going to try.

I also bought a padded case from TomBihn.com, called the BrainCell. I bought the vertical one cause I wanted to use it in a backpack. Takes up more room than a regular sleeve but has more padding too. comes in many sizes.

I have this for my x220 with 6 cell.

The fit is a little tight since its designed for a MBA but the protection offered is second to none. The case is semi-hard and has nice rubber corner pieces to absorb any bumps. Much better than just a sleeve IMO because mine gets knocked around in my messenger bag everyday.

11" or 13" one? I dont like the look or price thus wont be getting one, but which one certainly helps with judging which other cases might work.

I ordered the Case Logic LNEO-12 12.1-Inch: does not fit X220, not even close.

I then tried the Caselogic PAS-213 13-Inch, which does fit well. It's inexpensive, and works pretty well as a sleeve to protect my X220 in my pack. The neoprene does attract cat hair and lint, though. If I wanted something for business use, I'd look for a ballistic nylon sleeve / case.

Yes, the zeroshock 3 13" works fine, especially with the 9-cell attached. It's a bit looser than the fit with my old 13" but that's expected.

Found one I am taking a gamble on. It's a zipperless sleeve similar to the one holding my netbook. It's for the 11.6" macbook air, but being neoprene or similar foam with no zipper, and the X220 with 6 cell being 12x8.2 inches vs the air's 11.8x7.5...it should fit nice and snug without being too tight. I am basing that purely on my case logic sleeve being meant for 7-9" but fitting my 10" netbook perfect. Anyhow, for only $10 shipped and not waiting for it to come from china, it's worth a shot. We'll see when it gets here!

Black MacBook Air 11" 2 Side Foam Sleeve Bag Pouch Case | eBay

edit---continued looking for other options just in case this doesnt pan out. That particular sleeve seems to be a pretty generic cheap chinese sleeve a good handfull of different vendors are selling. The same looking sleeve has pretty consistant measurements in listings that include that info, regardless of the vendor or which machine they slap on the listing as it being a case for. Looks like it should be 12x8.5"...so with the inherent strechiness of neoprene, that should work out pretty nicely if that is the case.

I think that that is this same case from Meritline:
12'' Black/Red Laptop Notebook Reversible Sleeve
$4.99 shipped. I have the exact one, but smaller for my color Nook and it is nice for $4. I am going to get this one, should fit perfectly. Only took 1.5 weeks last time I ordered from there and it was shipped from China.
Another one with a handle that seems about perfect in size. Nylon exterior with neoprene interior with carry strap and shoulder strap for $12.99 delivered. I'll get this one as well.

Meritline lists it as 12x9.3 vs 12x8.5 like most other places, but I am pretty sure it's gotta be the exact same sleeve. @ 8.5, that is going to end up being the snugger/more stretched side, but @ 9.3, that is a bit over a full inch more then the laptop. Could fit nicely though if the thickness of the laptop draws in that extra inch ok. But yeah, that is def the better deal @ $4.99 for what should be the exact same thing, if you don't mind the wait.

Same material and zipperless style yes, but different product. That is what I intended to try originally, but I dont have Amazon Prime thus no free shipping on that. Shipping adds another $5 and change. Just for a shot in the dark with niether being a name brand product, I'll go for the one nearly half the price. :D

Double the price and not everyone is tax free with Amazon + unless you have Prime, you need to spend $25 for free shipping. Meritline is very dependable. I have purchased from them before and they are tax free for everyone, free shipping and quick. I have received items from China in less than one week from order date. The two cases I ordered are already on the way less than 3 hours after ordering.

Got it today. Swing and a miss. Makes me wonder if I even got shipped the correct size.

Trying to get the X220 into it was like trying to stuff it into the 7-9" sleeve I use for my netbook. Worse actually. The new sleeve was about the exact same width and maybe like 3/4" longer then my case logic 7-9" sleeve, and didnt have as much stretch to it either. Just wasnt happening. I have a new sleeve for my 10" netbook though. It actually fits it pretty well.

So yeah, dont waste your time with that one. Back to square one again. :(

took a chance on the first sleeve of the 2 I linked. The express shipping turns out to be only $5 more, $10 total, so I ordered it. We'll see if it gets here on time.

The touchpad...not that I have noticed. It pretty much sucks though so I actually have it disabled and use the stick.

Those sleeve look decent, however I would like to see a simple sleeve with Velcro that doesn't cost a fortune. The one I had my eye on are from sfbag. It would be great if they don't cost $39 for the sleeve.

Hi Chief, just to share my experience with this sleeve. I bought this for my old T61 and it was a good fit but the quality is not so great. When I received it, the ThinkPad sticker was wrinkled and after a few times opening and closing, it started to peel off so I removed with a pair of tweezers. After a year of usage, the red stitches at the flap started to unravel and a hole started to appear at the portion where the edge of my T61 rubbed against the flap. Cheap does not equal to quality...

I got a similar one to that second link (long, horizontal flap with the band) from eBay. It was labelled for a 12" laptop. Turned out to be a tight fit. I stretched it a bit overnight with some books for a few days in a row, which made it a bit better, but it's still a snug fit.

Nice, simple design, but I might get another one (maybe one for a macbook?) that has a small zipper for a USB drive or headphones.

Not expecting top quality....just enough to keep it clean when not in use, as well as keep potential scratches and marring off it from shifting around in a backpack. I'm not looking for a full stand alone bag nor sole form of protection. Because of that, I want something very simple with no excess bulk. As pictured earlier in the thread, I use the same style sleeve with my netbook for several years now and it has worked out great. Anyhow, like most cheap chinese stuff, I dont expect it to last forever, but so long as it lasts long enough to make a mere $10 worthwhile, I'll be happy, and just replace it when it does wear out.

I have the same requirements as yourself and you are right, I don't expect much from $10. I've also pulled the trigger on getting this for my X220 as well.

Let us know how they fit. I've been reading on these forums for some time now and I'm still stuck on what I should get for my x220 6cell. I'd be interested in a snugfit case with pockets for charger/mouse maybe even portable hdd.

I revceived said sleeve today.....swing and a miss again. Doesnt fit well at all. It might be a good fit for you 9 cell guys though. Way too big this time. Not quite as bad as the lenovo sleeve, but in the same way.

I'm really starting to think there may not be ANYTHING out there that fits these well. :(
