I am looking for a good sleeve for my p310, and I have found these:
https://www.sonystyle.es/SonyStyle/...2BC29B8F47E90203D905008EE10080022BC29B74)/.do
https://www.sonystyle.es/SonyStyle/...2BC29B8F47E901E1D905008EE10080022BC29B74)/.do
First of them is for Sony Vaio Z, and the second one is for Sony Vaio SR. Wich of them do you think is better for the p310 size?
Thanks and regards.

id say the Vaio SR the Z is VERY wide so that definitely wont work SR ftw for you.

If considering buying from Europe for US, now may be the time as the euro to usd ratio is a bit favorable right now.
-
Is it possible to get normal 3D clocks on the battery? I can t seem to do it
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
yeah you have to right click on battery go to power options then select high performance. hope this helps
-
No it doesn t work, i tried changing the power schemes already.

Thanks and regards. -
I have a couple of questions, if anyone can answer..
1. What does the XP downgrade option mean? Would the laptop come with an XP recovery disk so that I can format, etc.?
2. Has anyone bought it from Germany to the U.S., and if so, how much was the total cost including shipping/taxes, etc.?
3. How would warranty be handled in the U.S.?
Any answers would be really appreciated. Thank you! -

The Z isn't wider, it's actually smaller.
Z: 315 x 211 mm x 25.4 ~ 33
P300/310: 315 x 236.5 x 21.2 / 32.1 mm
SR: 315 x 34 x 233.8 mm
The SR looks about right, though it might be a tight fit. -
The laptop comes with a XP SP2 disc, with the sata drivers already slipstreamed into the disk. Plus they provide the xp drivers on another cd so you are ready to go.
This is unlike my previous M1330 where you have to run around looking for xp compatible drivers for everything.
As for the sleeve i had a standard 13.3" sleeve that i used with the m1330 which also works well for the new laptop. -
So, to all of you lucky guys who've gotten your mittens on one of these and had some time to get acquainted with it, it would be *really* nice to hear a bit more about your overall experience, your biggest gripes, etc. I'm still undecided as to whether I should buy one or not! Please help! Give me a reason not to!

Has anyone ordered one of these to the U.S.? notebook.de seems to have really high shipping fees, but it's the only website I can find where english is used at all. I think I've made up my mind that I'd like one of these, but.. would cyberport.de ship? would the others? and how would I even communicate with them to set it up?
also, would I need to buy a different kind of A/C adapter?

Hrm, thank you for that info. I had decided to forego the LG P310 with much sadness due to communication problems, and on the advice of others. At 1112 EUR, it would totally be worth it. I'd ordered an Asus N80 instead (it could never be so sexy) but newegg is giving me issues. Maybe it's a sign I should make an attempt at the LG P310 instead. I wonder if I would have to pay taxes on shipment though.
*Edited to add: I went ahead and ordered, and will transfer payment in a couple of hours.
Anybody have any idea what i need to buy in order to be able to hook up the laptop in the US? Do I need to buy another adapter? Or is it more complicated than that? Where would I buy such things? Any help would be great.
I'm not concerned with the US keyboard as I'm a touch typist anyways and as long as I can set the keyboard to function as if it's QWERTY, it won't matter much to me. -
an update: I ordered and paid notebook-shop.de for the Camini version (cheaper and slightly worse, but completely adequate for my purposes) and after receiving payment was informed that they can no longer ship this laptop, and I can pay extra for the Tarsia or get the P300 instead. I did check their website and the Camini now says available for preorder 1-2 weeks. I'm a bit upset at this development, as I was willing to forego U.S. keyboard and all of that in the name of speed, and upgrading to the Tarsia would mean sending more money overseas (and being charged *more* bank fees on top of what I already paid).
I spoke with someone at notebook-shop.de, however, and they told me they would get back to me about when the Camini will be back in stock, if it ever will be. I'm not sure how good they would be about refunds, as that is probably the route I will have to go if they are no longer going to stock the Camini. The Tarsia is overkill for the purposes I need the laptop for, unfortunately.
Other than the problem with the out of stock laptop, notebook-shop.de has been good to deal with. Being able to speak to someone on the phone was really good.
Anyways, I will keep you guys updated. I was so excited to see "Payment received" email, and then totally crushed to see the next email. It's hard enough being without a computer for a few days, really.. (currently borrowing a friend's during exam period but it will have to go back in a few days). -
I am also waiting for the new batch of Camini's to hit the .de stores!
The differences compared to the Tarsia are
250 vs 320 HDD
3G vs 4G DDR3 RAM
P8400 (3MB cache) vs p9600 (6Mb cache) -
Private-Cowboy Notebook Consultant
Just to show that you can game very well with the Tarsia, here are two impressions of a maxed out SH4 running along with 2xAA and 4xAF with buttersmooth framerate...
The temperatures during this 30min test looked like that...
I've yet to see a GPU-Temp above 72C. This is stock, neither overclocked nor undervolted. Other games I play are Opposing Fronts (which also results in 68-71C GPU-Temp presenting smooth framerates at maxed out details with 2xAA) and FSX (which is more CPU heavy and does not heat up the GPU much at all).
That goes to show that you've a lot to work with if you want to overlock. Stay below 80 under load and you should read 8700GT levels. -

Anyone from Asia with the P310? Just wondering where your P310 is made from. I got mine in Canada and it's made in China. I had the P300 before and that was made in Korea! The quality and feel from the P300 vs P310 are a bit different.
Here's my comment P300 vs P310 posted on another post:
I had the P300 before, had it stolen and missed it so much because of it's small size, light weight and processing power that I decided to get the P310 from Future Shop (Canada). Surprisingly, I prefer my old P300 over the new P310 for the following reasons:
1) The P310 is made in China, vs the P300 was made in Korea (bought it in Asia though). The build quality and feel to it is just not quite the same. The P300 was sturdier and finishing just was a tad better. Not to take anything away from the P310 because it's still descent, but the P300 was tops in quality. Does anyone know if the Asian version of P310 is made in Korea?
2) Everytime I start up the laptop, the harddrive light is continuously on for the first 10 minutes. There's no processes running, but the hd keeps on running, draining battery and motor life. Anyone have this problem?
3) The Canadian version doesn't have Turbo Memory, the startup on the P310 (P8400) is slower than the P300 (T8300).
4) Battery life on P310 is about 30-60 minutes shorter than P300.
I do miss the old P300. -
I was just told by notebook-shop.de that the wait for my LG P310 Camini will be 2-3 weeks. I'm hoping it won't actually be quite so long. Cyberport.de does not ship to the U.S., btw, for anybody that was curious. At least not according to the person I spoke to on the phone.
I am going to wait out notebook-shop.de and hope that the Camini comes back into stock soon and ships promptly. It's hard not to have a computer in the meanwhile, especially as a student.. but I've really wanted the LG P310, and since I've already transferred the money overseas, it would cost me quite a bit to get it back (bank fees and such). I probably would have just gone with another Asus if I had known that I would be waiting so long, but maybe it will all be for the best in the end. I'll let you guys know how it goes! Inquiring about the U.S. keyboard now since I have to wait anyways. -

Congrats on the purchase you are gonna love it -
Most probably space that you didn't allocate a drive to it. You can extend either E: or D:. Not sure how to do it in vista, but it's around there where you showed the picture.
-
Go to control panel -> admin -> computer management -> disk management and you can change your partitions.
-
Ups, I refer to primary partition with 7 gb (it´s in red). I don´t know what´s that.
My doubts are:
- May I convert any primary partition into logical partition?
- May I add a new primary partition and a new logical partition (one for XP, another one for data)?
Thanks and regards. -
This is insane. I can´t find the SATA drivers to install XP in this laptop. Could anybody help me?
Thanks and regards! -
Can you tell me, how did you successed in the dismantling of the pc, because i want to change my hdd too (a 7200 rpm). Thank you. -
You have to remove the screws with a label underneath the computer.
then on the "north" side of the keyboard you need to push back small plastic parts (there is one above the esc key so you can see what I mean). Then the keyboard comes out.
After that you need to remove all the screws you can see underneath the laptop (AND THE SMALL ONES UNDER THE BATTERY) and then you can remove all the platic and you can access the hdd. It is not very easy. -
Ok. I have done all the removing of the screws. As you said it was pain ! My original HDD seems to be seal with a silver adhesive tape. I wonder if it was the same for you and if this tape can be removed without risk ?
Thank you -
Is it possible to change the HDD without voiding warranty?
-
Nope. If there is no place under your laptop to change the HDD, you have to send it to the manufacturer. If you change it by your own, you can say goodbye to the warranty.
-
For those who purchased this trough notebook-shop.de: did you have to pay extra for the en/us (or uk) keyboard layout or was it the same price?
Also I noticed an option on the shop for “Pixel-error free TFT warranty (Add: 49.00 EUR)”. Did you take this option? As I understand from this if you don’t take this option pixel errors wouldn’t be covered by waranty. Did any of you have problems with pannel / pixel errors?
Thanks alot! -
Hi. I'm interested in getting P310 but I can't find it anywhere in UK and as I've seen no one has. I know I could order from one of the german sites but they have qwertz keyboard. Anyone ordered with different keyboard ? Also how is the LCD except the part about contrast.. ? Anyone who is owning P310 how are you liking it ?
Any other good performance 13.3 laptops coming out? Except xps 1340 cause its just awful fingerprint magnet. -
-
Now if only I had a reason to buy it... -
-
D pleaseee
-
Does anyone know of any other review than the on over at notebookjournal.de? I would like to get a 2nd oppinion on that LCD for starter. Best would be if someone over here decided to write a few words on it.
Have a nice day! -
First of all this is my first post on this forum, so greetings to everyone. I've been reading this discussion for some time now and want to share some new information with you...
I figure you are from UK, so you probably know some Poles, who may arrange the buy for you
.
To people who don't know any Poles: I've just emailed 11 resellers, who offer this laptop asking if they are willing to send abroad and if they can communicate with foreign customers in English. As soon as I get a reply I'll let you know.
The Polish config is labelled as P310-S.CPRAY and it corresponds to the German CBRBG model found here.
Due to the financial crisis our currency has recently weakened, so the price for this model is slightly above 1000 EUR (4700 PLN) depending on the current exchange rate which varies quite heavily.
I have ordered my own P310 today and will be receiving it on Thursday. You may expect some insight on all the issues bothering you regarding this laptop after the weekend.
Edit
The Polish CPRAY model is almost the same as German Camino CBRBG except that in Poland you get a 320GB 5400RPM disk. Sorry, I missed that the first time... -
this thread is pretty long although it seems like its availability is still scarce. can everyone log into newegg and suggest they carry this notebook. that would be ideal for the us market anyway. unless anyone knows anywhere else in the us this is carried
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
i dont think they can sell this notebook in the US until LG officially decides they want to enter the US market.

-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
thats awesome true we would be very interested in hearing if we can get it in north america, plus rep for you
-
I already got a confirmation from one of the shops, however this is one of the smaller shops in Poland and I don't have any experience with them. Still waiting for replies from the biggest internet computer shops.
The shop is called koyto: website, mail.
Unfortunately the internet shops in Poland only offer Polish at their sites, so you'll have to get familiar with translate.google.com
Note that the P310 is not yet presented on the webpage in most of the shops, but it is available through one of the wholesalers, to which most of the shops have access.
Edit
Another shop (Primakomp) confirmed abroad shipping: shop, mail.
They said it would cost around 5300PLN (1150EUR) - 5000PLN for the laptop and 300PLN for shipping.
This shop is more popular than the previous one and has quite a good opinion... -
-
They confirmed in the emails that the can get this laptop if someone will be interested. Probably they'll also put it on their websites soon. Remember that it has only been available in Poland for two days
I am getting one tomorrow from a local dealer. -
)
(maybe a small review ;> ?) or just post some pics
. Thanks!
