I also just received my laptop yesterday and I posted a review to Natadiem's thread, which i think we should make official owners lounge cause more and more people are now getting LG's P330 (Ryan sent 4 different laptops all over the world)
I would like to thank you Ryan so much for this laptop, you spend a lot of effort for all of us. Thank you!
And you can go to check out my review here:

GT 555M GF 106 on Clevo W150HM/Asus N55SF comparison with GT 555M GF 116 on LG P330
-
Please LG! Release in USA, Canada even if I can get it through NCIX. This is looking like a pretty decent laptop. Maybe with an Ivy Bridge refresh and GeForce 650m update even a bit faster.
-
I'm going to take a guess and dsay the 650m won't be adding much performance. Not any major differences between that and the 555m. maybe ~10% increase. Nvidia follows a pattern of 10% then 20-30% increase.
-
6xx series are rebrands.
-
Guess just wait and see. May not even be readily available for US market anyhow.
-
If it's released in Canada, it'll be from Futureshop (They seem to have some kind of exclusivity agreement with LG for LG Laptops in Canada), which unfortunately doesn't ship to the US.
-
Maybe eBay then. I guess I could always go to the Futureshop in Windsor, Ontario, since it's only 20-30 minutes away from me. -
I would also suggest checking out smaller private computer hardware dealers in your area to see if they offer any imported models. Some of them offer models from Korea and Japan! -
Sometimes MicroCenter gets some odd config laptops, problem is they don't usually advertise online, have to be at the store right place, right time. I almost bought a Sony Z that way. In hindsight I should have because at the time it was like $300 cheaper than any other thing out there, could have at least sold it and made a couple hundred bucks profit.

For those of you with money, there are some P330's on ebay:
lg p330 | eBay
$1700 for ue30k
$2300 for ue70k
As for me, I'm going to wait out another week to see what CES 2012 will show before I make a final buying decision. -
Hi guys, I just got an answer from ebay seller "green-sum" who sells lot's of LG laptops and he has quoted an outrageous $2250 for the UE70K! Has anyone here used Gmarket?
-
I paid 1600 USD for my UE70 with an additional battery. And this is counting the shipment from Korea to Japan.
I checked Gmarket but it is said that they don t ship internationally for LG P330 items. But maybe I am wrong.
Wait until the notebook get released in Germany and Canada, then the price will be way more affordable. -
-
-
Hey Nat that is good! I've seen them for 2,000,000 Won (about $1750) online but for Korea only. When you say Germany have you heard they're definitely going to be released there? Or is it because of the exhibition where they were displayed there?
I'm trying to negotiate on price but looking like 1900USD would be the best price which I think is too highCome on LG get a move on!
-
So it s hard to believe they made all of this for the dozen foreigners living in Korea...
I live in Japan and the special JP models don t carry any english help at all. -
Hmm.. seems like the P330 owners lounge might be getting bigger/start to exist, eh? I can nothing but strongly recommend this laptop. With some tweaking in the SRS panel I even think the speakers sound pretty good for a laptop of this size. The screen could've been a bit better, but everything else is superb. I love the aesthetics of this laptop as well.

Looking forward to possible screen upgrades if that's an option down the road, even third party. But I think I'll hold out for the Ivy Bridge / Trinity options coming end of this year.

can anybody confirm, that the p330 has the same keyboard as the z330?
because I am thinking about getting the LG P330-UE40K from ILOVENOTEBOOKS and fit a new keyboard with german layout into it. -
I don't think they are the same.
The Z330 has an extra row of keys perfectly aligned to the right arrow key that the P330 does not. On top of that it seems like the tilde key (left to the 1 key) is smaller on the Z330 than on the P330. Of course, saying that it will not work is purely speculation on my behalf, but I don't really see any benefit of going through with this. The keyboards seem to be using different materials/finishes and who watches their keyboard while typing anyway? -
Hey guys, just joined the forum. I've purchased my lg p330 (i7 2.80ghz +8gb ram+60gb SATA3+ 683gb HDD) after reading through 50+ pages of threads
. Really appreciate what you guys did here.
-
Anyone knows, is there possible to install this P330 i7 2630qm processor with 16gb ddr3 sodimm 1333mhz ram memory (2x8gb) ?
-
I hope you'll enjoy the same bliss as the rest of the P330 owners.

Hi guys,
68 pages is a little to much for brief check so I'll ask despite it could appear earlier.
- Does this laptop has normal 2-banks RAM upgradeable slot and has anyone tried 2x8GB already? (I was about to buy VAIO Z but it has RAM soldered into mobo
)
- Can one access to HDD bay and replace it, what size is hdd, is it on SATA3?
- Does it have backlit keyboard?

1. normal 2-bank RAM upgradeable.
2. 2.5'' 9.5mm HDD
3. No backlit. -
@lee_what2004
Thank you -
So any new news on North America availability? Or safe / easy way to order for N.A.?
-
Is there anyone trying to replace that 4Gb SSD someone else mSata SSD? How about example OCZ Nocti 120Gb or Intel 311 80Gb?? Who knows where are those "destruction" pictures of this? I mean is it how impossible to unpack P330?
-
-
Anyone seen the new Lenovo Y480? i7 Ivy Bridge processor I believe, GT 650M (supposed to get 10000 3dmark vantage
)
-
I can tell that model UE40K have a 4gb Sandisk mSata SSD and I replaced it with Intel 310 80Gb mSata SSD and it works fine. Very easy to install if you first can remove that bottom plastic
I also removed that original Toshiba 640Gb to Samsung M1 1Tb. Those are nice combo together with 8gb ddr3 sodimm. I have there now 4gb+4gb memories
-
-
Is there anyone, who has tested bigger SSD:s on P330? I mean example: Samsung 830 512Gb?

Ruhtraeel,
I've been looking for a benchmark that shows the 650m is 2x the performance of the 555m and cant find anything. Can you provide a link? -
Nvidia's Upcoming GeForce 600M-Series GPUs Get Detailed ? Report - Softpedia
Nvidia 28nm Mobile GPU Plans Revealed | Best Gaming Laptop
The new GT 650m is codenamed N13P-GT. According to the "28nm mobile gpu plans revealed", it is supposed to get 10000k in 3dmark Vantage, almost double the 5797 that GT 555m gets according to notebookcheck.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/638044-gtx-660m.html
^^Claims that the Y580, equipped with the new GTX 660m, will get around 14k 3dmark Vantage, which is astounding, since that's insanely high for a GPU in a 15 inch laptop (although if I were to get a new laptop, I would still get the Y480 since the size jump from 14 to 15.6 inch is quite big)
Wow, technology moves fast. I sit there thinking I have the best laptop for it's size, then the P330 comes in and beats it in the GPU factor, then within another half year the Y480 comes out with a die shrink to 28nm showing an even higher jump than the GT550m to the GT555m. I really want to sell my Y470 now and get the Y480, because the jump is absolutely ridiculous. -
I think you are basing your assumptions on very little evidence. People tend to overhype things. Until we see actual benchmarks on released cards instead of "we assume that it’s 3DMark Vantage since the scores would be too low for 3DMark 06 but way too optimistic for 3DMark 11," you can't really tell how good it would actually be. I don't see how scores are too low for 3dMark06, since it's pretty much capped at 20,000 even for the most powerful cards.
-
-
I'm just pointing out the alternatives, an imo waiting a couple of months might be worth the processor and (maybe) the gpu upgrade for about half the price.
EDIT: Actually, who am I kidding. My laptop runs everything fine, I won't get one until around 3-5 years from now where 12 inch laptops have 6990 performance. -
Now if its as powerful or even more powerful than a 555m this would be great!
But looking at this
[/QUOTE]
The 650m with the name N13 P-GT, 128 Bit falls into the mobile Perfomance category, while the 635m (which is already released and out there in the asus n55 and jay chou mystic special edition) falls into the N13 E-GE2 Enthusiast category, even though it is a basic rebrand of the 40nm 555m and a new core (GF116 instead of GF106)..
So the 650m could really be a downgrade or maybe its like the previous 550m, a castrated 555m
Also, according to the code name, the GTX 660M (N13E-GE, 128 Bit) seems to be the followup of the GT 635M (N13E-GE2, 128 Bit)
What we can do is only wait
EDIT: BTW there are many sites who have the codenames for example this one
http://www.computerbase.de/news/2011-11/details-zu-anstehenden-28-nm-grafikloesungen-von-nvidia/
and if you check this out
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-635M.66964.0.html
You see that the codename is being used for that card
But in the end this is all just pure speculation -
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
the 635m is the 555m, the 650m would be an upgrade.
btw there were 5 different versions of the 555m, some were indeed higher clocked 550m with gddr5 memory -
i know about the 5 versions and so on!
but please read again, judging from the codename the 650m cant be an upgrade because its in a weaker class than the 635m, we all know about nvidias weird naming -
Do anybody know any Europe dealer who sells this computer?
-
there is no dealer outside of korea who sells the p330.. only small shops or private people who import it..
-
The more I research, the more I come back to the p330. Too bad it's not available in the States!
