I put on google keywords "p330-ue40k" and got few results. For example that there should be two versions with i5 and i7 processors with price of 880 euros.
-
OH my gosh, this thing actually is released? I gave up on it a long time ago and as looking at alternatives. I hope reviews come out for this!
-
From what I've seen, where it not for the standard "portable mirror" it looks good; I have some doubts based on history with LG: cooling, durability.
No other machine as far as I know comes close to this ...
Perhaps it'll never see the light outside few units to claim that it is not another dead LG product. -
-
I very nearly bought a P310 but it was discontinued at the same time the Acer 3820TG was introduced. The cooling in the P310 was adequate and the notebook never throttled.
-
Here are the specs for both the i5 and i7 version:
2011³â 11¿ù ½Å±Ô¶óÀξ÷ XNOTE!! :: ³×À̹ö ºí·Î±×
Screen is a LED Backlit 1366 x 768
There is no mention of IPS, judging by the increase thinness compared to the prototype, I'd assume they got rid of the IPS and stuck with the super thin screens they're using on the P430 and P530.
EDIT:
I just downloaded the user manual for the P330 on the LG Site and it seems the english manual is already included.
http://www.lgservice.co.kr/cs_lg/se...zeList=10&op_ch2_etc=&op_ch3=&kwd_konan2=P330
Specs Listed Are:
13.3" LED TFT LCD (Still no mention of IPS)
Intel i7/i5/i3 depending on model
GeForce GT 520MX/GT 555M depending on model
2 Slots of DDR3 SODIMM Memory supporting up to 8GB
Intel HM 65 Chipset
1 2.5" SATA HDD
1 m-SATA SSD or Express Cache (Optional)
Bluetooth 3.0
Intel 11230BNHMW or Ralink RT3090BC4 Wireless Adapter (802.11n Adapters)
1.3M / HD Web Cam
Gigabit Ethernet
Approximately 1.72kg including 6-cell battery
6-cell Battery 312g
The Power Consumption was said to be
22W - Watching Video
10W - Screen Off
1.2W or Lower - Sleep Mode
Battery Capacity was just listed as 11.1V or 10.8V.
Assuming a 4400mah 6 cell battery:
It should get a bit over 2 hours watching video
It should get a bit under 4.5 hours idle
EDIT 2:
Here's a picture of it from the top and bottom from the manual

I want it!
-
Engadget says display is IPS.
-
-
-
want! please come to america
-
I'll be waiting for the "Official P330/555M North American Purchase options" thread. -
-
Any word on the ACTUAL resolution of this thing? IPS panel is great, but if it happens to be a 1366 x 768 that's a deal breaker for me.
-
Ahhh nm. It IS. That sucks..
-
4 hours of battery....
deal breaker -
Personally for a 13" screen thats fine for me, but if it's a deal breaker I guess thats that.
A. The P330 has "6.5 hours" of battery life, just like other laptops, like the Vaio SA has "7 hours" of battery life
B. The power consumption figures are wrong or outdated in the manual (This is most likely, I've seen too many accidental references to the P420 in that manual to be sure it's the final version)
C. I just messed up the calculations bad and I accidentally halfed the battery life when calculating it. (I only had the power consumption in watts, I had to guess the voltage and mAh of the battery by using the common values for 6 cells, and even then I'm not too sure if I did the math right)
Also about the IPS display... I really want to see where engagdet is getting the IPS info from, since everything I've seen, including the source engagdet linked (Unless I'm missing something there), doesn't say IPS, it just says LED Backlit LCD which could mean IPS but it could also mean TN.
Well I guess I'll wait for the UE70K (i7 version) pricing to be annouced. -

The specs and gorgeous design would make it the first real candidate for a replacement of my 3820TG, but I won't believe any of this gossip until a first test sample reach the notebook magazines.
just take a closer look at the pictures of the left side of the base unit:
clearly photoshop-ed: the vga/d-sub is disproportional...stretch a little here...compress a little there and voila it looks breath taking thin...same thing with display/bezel
THX a lot, those pictures show: its nearly twice as high, and the bezel is a lot bigger, but what worries me most: still single fan layout as on the first pictures from some months ago, and putting the HDD (service flap) and Battery next to the cooling system is never a good idea
But I'm really curious to see the actual product. -
the german lg service said that they dont have any information from korea whether it will ever be released in germany...
-
How long until it reaches the States? 3 Months? 6?
-
Those ones I included don't look like the P420, but they might be early P330 prototypes (There's a warning in fine print mentioning this fact in the manual).
I wouldn't worry about the single fan layout. LG's Single Fan layouts can dissapate a surprisingly large amount of heat while keeping the rest of the laptop quite cool.
P.S. Finally found the listed Dimensions
313.4mm x 213mm x 23.6~27.4mm -
Finally it s released!
I don t know if it has been posted before but I found a couple of pictures and flash video info...
'LG ???? P330-UE40K 2?? i5-2435M(2.4) 640GB 40GB GeForce GT555M 13.3?? ??????? 4G' ?? ????
I might go in Korea to pick it up... I have the P310 that I bought two years ago and I never had a problem.
The deal breaker for me is the screen quality. -
Thank you for the post, I was just there and while I don't read Korean, I do can say this
- looks AWESOME, I'd buy two were it not for
a. screen 1366x768: yet again another manufacturer that insists in low resolution -- so PASSE in this day and age
b. no core i7 option
c. 6 cell battery only option
No, thanks.... so, so sad ...
Looks like Samsung is the other one with a 14 inch and 1600x900 resolution, unless you want the wobbly Sony SA ... whoever dream that single hinge should be fired! -- urgently please -
Does this have backlit keyboard?
-
There are at least 2 different models: one with i5 and the other one with i7.
On the i5 model, a picture suggest 7.5hours of battery life... Probably 4 hours in real life situation, this is mainstream today.
I am also wondering about the back lit keyboard. I think it would have been shown in the Korean selling website... They even put a flash to explain how the kernel lock was working so...
Of course, until we got a proper review this is all speculation at this point. -
I contacted a friend who lives in Korea. My friend confirmed that it's available for sale. There is no news on the i7 version though.
-
With specs like that, do you guys think this laptop could handle recent games (Skyrim, Arkham City, BC3) on High settings? I got a friend going to Korea and I might get him to pick one up for me if it can handle those games.
-
I think that the bench from the m14x with basic screen should give us an idea. -
We still don't know which 555m it's using and whether the CPU throttles or not though.
-
I went through the korean retailer website...and I didn't see the 40GB SSD mentioned anywhere. It just says 640GB at 5400 rpm. Anyone else notice this? Or did I miss it somewhere?
-
Resolution is fine on this form factor.
-
Boot time video extracted from Korean Retailer's website
p330_booting_time.wmv - YouTube
I wonder how the cooling system performs, and how can it handle the heat from i5 and GF555m -
my thoughts exactly! Such a slim body... I hope LG engineers did their job right
Other than that - perfect!
BTW will there be an option with SSD only? like 128 or 256GB?
Cheers,
Miki -
Somebody in Korea buy one of these and let us know.
-

2011³â 11¿ù ½Å±Ô¶óÀξ÷ XNOTE!! :: ³×À̹ö ºí·Î±×
UE40K (The one being offered right now) has 640GB HDD and 4GB Express Cache
UE70K (i7 version) has 750GB HDD and 40GB SDD -
Kinda strange they opted for 5400 rpm. Is there an option at least for 7,200?
-
Where did you see that it is a 5400rpm HDD out of curiosity?
-
Do we know how the viewing angles and color accuracy is on this model? And the way news sites are reporting it, they make it sound like NA market maybe able to buy one, is that really the case?
-
If you scroll to the bottom there is a description of the HDD at 5400rpm
-
saw the youtube clip on booting up.
although it is using thin bezel but it doesnt fill up the whole screen as advertised -
disappointing screen resolution =/ a beast otherwise those
-
not sure about that - most 13" have this res, so it's more like standard (though nothing to write home about). Coming from Vaio Z (13.1", 1600x900) this definitely seems as a step back, but I don't know any other 13" laptop packing GT555m
.
What I really would like to see is if an IPS screen is available (as an upgrade).
Also if you check spec. (313.4 x 213 x 21.1 / 23.6 - 27.4 mm) you'll notice different heights, I guess "thickest" one is reserved for 555m while those models with 520m may have thinner profile.
About combo storage (SSD+HDD): does W7 come installed to SSD and HDD is for user "major" storage? Would be nice if they offer full SSD options like 128/256 GB.

Cheers,
Miki -
Wow, it really doesn't seem like it fills the whole screen. That is pretty lame.
-
-
Hopefully this will support standard 9mm Hard drives and not the 6.5/7mm smaller ones.
Have a spare 128gb SSD I would be putting into it assuming it ever comes to the US, but its a 9mm, and I really dont feel like seeing how good I am with the dremmel tool to make it fit -
The P330 UE40K and UE70K (The i7 version) are now up on LG's Korean site:
http://www.lge.co.kr/brand/xnote/pr...brand=XNOTE&catid=ecat1189&curcatid=ecat41740
After looking at the site I think there's some good news and bad news:
Bad News:
- I'm pretty much convinced there is no IPS on the screen, there's no mention of it anywhere on the pages while the P220 is advertising it's IPS screen quite heavily
- The screen indeed doesn't go the edge
- It looks alot thicker than previously (And is about 0.7kg heavier at 1.72kg rather than 1.65kg)
Good News:
- This is the reason why it's so thick: http://ecatalog.lge.com:6010/upload/product/img/2011/11/p330-u.ae70k/p330-u.ae70k_f2_mz.jpg
Thats either a big fan or a double fan stacked on top of each other.
Shouldn't have any problems with throttling I'm thinking. -
313.4 x 213 x 21.1 / 23.6 mm - regular one with 520m
313.4 x 213 x 21.1 / 27.4 mm - with 555m
Of course I could be wrong. Any dimension figures from those Korean sites?
Cheers,
Miki -
Kind of related, but has the P220 been reviewed yet? Might give us some ideas on the P330.
