Sweet desktop EneergE, Compiz is nice but remember, if you don't have a strong enough processor then you'll have lag playing video and flash. Any chance the icon set comes in blue?
-
How do you do the embedded terminal?
-
My guess is that it's a normal terminal app that's been specified as undecorated with a fixed position in rc.xml
. That is, if I'm correct in assuming that that's Openbox. I guess it must be because I have that exact same theme in my lovely minimalist Openbox system.
-
The terminal is urxvt and the WM is openbox. To get it to look the one in my screenshot.Put this in the applications section of /home/{username}/.config/openbox/rc.xml
http://pastebin.com/f113afe59
and this in a file called .Xdefaults in your home directory

just playin' around a bit with emerald and compiz:

I'm a Linux noob so here is my Cube for the last day.

Some great desktops here. Sharing mine...
-
Nice theme, Cyan....clean
-
Well, this is mine, tweaked KDE4 for low light conditions. I'm not colour blind though
-

enby, that's the most attractive (dark) KDE desktop I've ever seen. Care to share your config?
-
I like the blue one. Where'd you get the wallpaper?
-
I'm pretty sure that blue swirly wallpaper comes standard with KDE4.1.
-
Sure, which files would you like to get? (btw, the icons are standard oxygen, then u just add the "desaturize" effect on them in the "advanced" section of the icon configuration dialog
-
I reckon he would need the colour.cfg, name of the theme and style your using.
What distro are you usinb by the way -
Mainly the color scheme and the names of the Qt and kwin themes, as blackbird's said.
I didn't know KDE had an advanced icon configuration dialog. I should really look into it more.
@blackbird:
I think he's using Gentoo because something's being emerged. -
Yeah, it's either Gentoo or Sabayon.
-
So I attached the colour config files, just remove the extension (vBulleting won't allow sending files w/o ext) + my favorite semi-transparent wallpaper that fits any colour scheme (just change the background of the desktop to match and put the WP on top).
The plasma theme name is Arezzo, it's from the kde-look (I believe it shows up in the list if you click "Get more themes" from the config dialog)
Oh, and the distro is Gentoo
... I'm using it on all my servers and just love the idea of total control over the system (LFS is too extreme in that sense) - keeps the system easily managable and clean. I like Sabayon too, imho a good replacement for desktops, but will keep current Gentoo till my laptop dies

Thanks!
I'm now gonna put these on my desktop. That semi-transparent wallpaper is a brilliant idea, by the way. Now I don't have to go hunting for new wallpapers everytime I change my theme.
-
That's a sweet theme. Link?
-
Now, that's a sick wallpaper! Can you give me a link?
-
Sure, here is the link
There are two versions, one Blurred and the other Sharp. Both look awesome. -
With that shiny one, I expected a broad to come busting through the curtain...sick man, sick......
-
blackbird, where do you get your wallpapers from? they're all amazing..
-
Much appreciated mate!
-
Thx, check out the link I posted which includes both versions, the blurred one I'm using and the in focus one.
Thanks. I usually find my stuff by browsing other show of your desktop threads, deviantart, wallpaper competition threads and some of my own editing.
Il post up a wallpaper pack later on which will include all those that I like and have/am using.
No probs -
I did...that's when I thought the stripper was coming thru my screen....
-
-
Nice... uh... gun.
-
This is mine
-
Wow....those are all pretty cool....

Me, I've been gaming a lot...been in Vista....ughh -
What launcher is that at the bottom?
-
Woo, gundam! lol...And that's a sick IM skin..what client is that, and where can I get a similar skin? I want to make it seem like I'm playing the sticky-note game.
-

-
